Very much agree with this, they did the first half of this is the problems and how it was preventable in the first half, then covered the second half of well this is why htey are a lot better, just need to do that over 90 mins. Not really a kick in the teeth like a after Arsenal of they are just going down playing like this.

Wip about for a taxi to get rid of him to Brentford?? (about his level and it is in keeping with his cosmopolitan image)
-
Wasn't driving this week. On the way down thought he as another 4-5 games with how its looking, on the way back he should be safe till december (Reading and Norwich at home are the must wins that define his position)
-
In the car on the way down Norwich was the deciding game at the end of the month. A couple of performances like the second half today (across 90 mins though) then the bar is set on Reading at home, loose that and he's gone though. Don't see how abandoning Adkins right now will help things, especially getting a 4-4-2 hoof merchant to "save" the club will leave us looking like Villa (who should be in the champ next year)

First half we did 4-3-2 with Puncheon getting in the way horribly. Second half Lallana dropped into the middle and did 4-3-3 properly which worked much better, helped mostly with Myukya being able to run about with the ball and Rodriguez doing ok on the left and all 3 up top switching it about and confusing everyone. Our openness comes mostly from just giving the ball away in the middle of an attacking movement, Puncheons principle activity. Keep the ball properly things seem to look better

All we have to do is just stop being overawed by the occasion till we are 2-0 down and then suddenly switch it on and we'll be a mid table prem team (then again so are Spurs). Also Puncheon out. If he gets more starts after that performance he has to be sucking someone off that's high up in the club as we looked miles better the moment he got his useless self off the pitch. Does't need a taxi out of the club, just a few bags of cements so we can chuck him off a bridge to make sure he doesn't come back. Defensively generally better, Maya made a lot of very good tackles in the second half, the the second goal was a shambles. Only one shambles is an improvement from the 5-10 we've had playing Jos this season.

JR isn't as good as SRL (yet) SRL can go wide on the left or the right (more left to switch with Lallana) when JR has been extremely poor on the left. Stick them both on the pitch and JR will be average (as usual) and SRL can do it, so long as he hasn't got someone in his way.

If the clocks go back it'll be an hour early....

Haha this sounds amazing!

He really isn't match fit yet, he looked tired, fat and sloppy in goal last weekend. Worried we are rushing him into goal without fitness more than anything else.

He's still rubbish, after we sort the dodgy back line he is next in the firing line. He has surprised me in that his attitude has improved so he is at least positive when he plays, after he "came back" to the team in the champ he was dreadful. Now he seems able to run about and put some effort in but he has really had some shockers this year. Most games any defender that has just stood their ground and challenged for the ball without going to ground has won it off him with minimal effort and Punch lacks the skill to beat people out side of pure pace. Fulham and West Ham were the worst cases of this where he only ran to the CB's from out wide (no intention of a cross), everyone could see it unfolding and every CB just stood their ground to him tripping over and wasting possession. Against Man United he was good, Evra couldn't be bothered to track back against him and both cb's made Jos look quick. That was probably his best performance of the season. Against Villa he was one of many good players, though the equaliser was from Lallana doing what we usually should do and playing around Punch. Overall though he is no way a premier league player and won't be first choice right wing for us next season pretty much what ever happens. I fully expect to see him sold at christmas as part exchange for Ince/Phillips or someone else bought in, as for me his game is just too limited and really lacks passing/crossing that we need from the right. His hit against Stevenage was excellent though, one of the highlights of that game.

Bottom half of the champ, wouldn't have gone well... Thought the official line to him leaving was the entire club were a bit down with him about and he had just lost the confidence of the club as a whole. The talking to Ashley behind the dons back is the most reasonable sounding one though.
-
Yeah pretty much within a quid of half price, can't turn noses up at that.

Fat Sam plays to their strengths... Well percentages anyway. Plus they cheat, a monumental amount of diving from a man who as been prosecuted for assault is always embarrassing. Not a fan of "playing the ref" but god it hurts when it is done to you so badly. Other than that they have still been on the reviving end of some poor losses this season and have most of the big teams still to play (City, Man United, Chelsea, Spurs, Newcastle...) so they have taken their chances better than us against the realistic teams to beat.
-
Hope they do this again for a saturday game, was pretty useful last season turning up and getting 5 between two of us (the 5 each for Brighton was too much at 4 and the game was a blur for a bit...). Concourse is no worse or soulless than half the pubs in Southampton anyway (especially on match day) so hammering them at the ground isn't such a bad choice. A bottle normally is £3.80 or £4.10 I think.... (you can't get 3 for a tenner normally) it's a little more for Singha but that's not on the deal sadly.

I like professionalism, no real reason just nice to see the club is trying to operate like a professional business instead of a non-league group of mates.

Ha! The article lacks so much substance that you can see right though it. The sun have picked a team that haven't scored many goals and but have an ex-saints striker that "of course everyone wants back now they are in the big time" completely ignoring facts around why he left and Jones monstrous lack of talent. Slow round of applause for the sun for making things up and pretending its news.

A few of us have feet big enough to fill them... Interesting answers to the questions too!
-
Bullet dodged really. Didn't look very effective, was out of position a fair bit. Thankfully we didn't spend money on another fox.
-
Short answers, Fox isn't premier league standard, it shows. No matter what we do or how we set up he always looks exposed. Lallana shouldn't really be captain but he's stuck about for a long time and we want him to stay. Chaplow is no where near premier league standard, a 17 JWP is getting a lot more game time than him for a very good reason. Punch is also L1 standard but a criminal lack of right wingers has left us playing the biggest waster of the ball in the premier league.

Only 8 other mishaps to go... (happened on the simpsons so can happen in real life)
-
We can just do a Wigan, look like sure fire for relegation an entire year, have everyone bemoan our back like, turn up to the last 9 games, win them all and stay up. Just as long as we get a point away at QPR, beat Norwich at home as well as Reading and beat Fulham away we can sort the problems out in the transfer market in January.

Nigel - 5 points to save our season (and your job)

1. Lambert is useless when 3 men sit on him, its what West Ham did as soon as he came on. Frustrating as it may seem we have to use him properly to get results. 80 mins of being man marked out the game (like against Fulham) does nothing other than run him into the ground. 2. Yeah Lallana isn't the captain, Fonte should have done it, Steven Davis could do it. 3. Well yeah this is glaringly obvious, no idea what's going on but some sort of firing squad needs to be taken to our first team to sort this mess out. I think Gazza should have been left in goal but hey ho. 4. Rodriguez HAD to come off yesterday, not a premier league player at the moment, it was embarrassing to watch. Guly on the other hand was doing well on the left, provided a lot of cover for maya which was essential. Not sure why at the substitution point we didn't shuffle everyone around into their best positions because Myuka isn't really a winger sadly. 5. Something will come good. -
No it probably wont make any difference...
