  1. Anyone else interested? I'm being let down left, right and centre at the mo and could really do with some players.
  2. Honest first impressions is that I don't like the new banner, but frankly it's unimportant and I'll get used to it. As for the rest of the site, I like it overall... I do seem to have some speed issues, as my browser seems to be using more resources, and my work pc is slow at the best of times, so that's a bit annoying. As always, the most important thing is the content, and the admin have little or no control over that (on the forum)...
  3. A-ha, Jim, LONG time no speak! Let me know if you can make it, we've got some of the early players you may well have played with, like Paul Manzotti, Jon Short and John Richardson still playing. My email address is further up, so contact me on that.

    New Kit...

Lol. It's quite simple really. A 'sash' is a word of Arabic origin, traditionally a cloth belt used to hold a robe together, and also used for decorative purposes to pass from shoulder to hip. It's a noun to describe a piece of clothing. Nothing more, nothing less.
  5. Yes, true, but that's a bit extreme IMO.
  6. But Geneva... if George can't shout the odds and shout people down... (have you seen his comments on the Climate Change threads?!) what else is there for him to do?!
  7. Oh christ, give it a rest eh? Why do some journos insist on this kind of OTT ********?!
  8. Now I'm no fan of the Tories or the Daily Mail, but I don't think either of them could ever be accused of being as racist as that map.

    New Kit...

Technically, I guess on this kit it's NOT a sash. It was on the original, because it was a seperate sash that went over the white shirt. But I would say this is a 'diagonal stripe'. Not that actually matters in the slightest. Nor is the word sash 'gay'. But each to their own.
  10. Completely agree with this... I'm British, and BP sure as hell haven't acted as I would. The stereotype fits your argument, but is simply not fair. There are plenty of people in the UK and all over the world who feel the same, it's not just Americans who are upset. I accept those are directly affected will clearly have more direct reason to be annoyed, but this is NOT an issue about nationality, and the more people try to make it one, the more it diverts from the real issues.
  11. Live scoring for those with nothing better to do: http://fantasyfootball.metro.co.uk/worldcup/live-scoring/ Gonna be interesting to see how some of the points work out... i can see a lot of players getting very similar scores.
  12. Mitre Delta's, and their modern day replacements, have always been the best footballs. You hit them, they stay hit, straight and true (if you can kick straight), or they bend where you want them to (if you can bend a ball). Leave the ball alone.
  13. That's ok then.
  14. Just to clarify, do you mean 'Beat you all to first place' or 'Beat you all to last place'? Or 29th perhaps? I need to know if my last place is under threat.

    New Kit...

More good comments on this site: http://www.footballshirtculture.com/10/11-kits/southampton-2010-2011-umbro-125th-anniversary-home-kit.html Just surprised I haven't seen The9 on there... that site strikes me as his spiritual home, being the kit statto that he is...
  16. Nope. I just think it's paranoia. Doesn't matter who the companies are, or where they're from, the comments are all perfectly valid IMO. It's a devastating situation and major lessons need to be learnt. Points about the other companies involved are valid too... but everyone involved from BP to TransOcean and Halliburton, need to stop the blame game, and work out what went wrong and why. As usual though, it seems short-term politics, profit and popularity issues come before corporate, social and environmental responsibilities.
  17. How many do you think we need?!?!
  18. We're up to 13 now, so could still do with a couple more. I've not yet booked the hotel, will probably do so today, but we're currently favouring the Village North Hotel, which is very close to the tournament location on Otley Road, booked through Expedia at about £75 per person for two nights, sharing a twin room. No other-halves or chaperones coming thus far, but if he needs ones...!? I'll PM you to discuss details.
  19. lol! You'd never see that happen at Saints... Ahem.
  20. Respect for others' views?!? Careful, you might start something. Here's hoping anyway...
  21. Yes, that's where most people stay, on site at Boddington Hall, although some of us are staying in a hotel because we've stayed at Boddy Hall mroe times than we care to remember! It's up to him. £20 entry fee, and then £65 to stay on site, or I can include him with those of us staying in a hotel (5 so far so 6 would be an ideal number for twin rooms), which would be a touch more.
  22. Only *I* know how bad I can be. Now that there are this many entrants, however, it may be possible that someone sneaks last ahead of me.
  23. Yes, hammy, he'll be representing Southampton and Southampton fans. Given the abuse that used to fly back and forth between us, I dunno how comfortable he'd be with that?!? lol
  24. Go for it... there are a few mixed teams in the tournament actually!
  25. Let me stop you there... A lot of people on a lot of threads need to chill out. Must be the heat.
