Oh yeah. Duh. Sorry, thought it was at home for some reason...
-
Well that's encouraging. Or are we about to see 24 wickets in one day, and fine for a poor pitch?!?!? Cynical? Me? About Hampshire this season? Never.
-
Given our problem has mostly been (not) getting lower order batsmen out, who go on to make big scores, I'm not getting excited just yet...
-
If you go to your 'User CP', there is a link on the left that shows you when you paid and when you're due for renewal. Mine says 13/8/10.

117-5 with 8 balls left. 18th over went for 17 whch has spoilt a very good bowling adn fielding performance from England so far.

Don't mention that word or SRS will start going off on one...

The comments below the story are telling. I'm not going to criticise the Echo too much, however they do need to realise that however much they defend their right to print stories they feel compleed to write, and maintain their own professional integrity as an independent media outlet, if fans do stop buying the paper, they'll simply be shooting themselves in the foot. That won't be good... the club needs a local paper to keep them on their toes, but in the right way. I did like this comment though: 'I think Cortese is la lieing through his teeth. Lesson for him to learn here on the media front.' (sic) lol.

Glad you could join us, we've been here some time.

I think this thread should be locked and consigned to the dustbin TBH.

Nope... gave up that malarky some time ago. I made the others look bad.
-
I think this can be un-stickied now... nice to see the overwhelming majority in support of AP, but now we should put this episode behind us and concentrate on moving forward.
-
What's to discuss? Spot on, thank you NC. Well, actually, the only thing to discuss is the fact whilst we can never stop the rumour mill, you'd think it was about time that fans actually put a little trust in the club and it's new owners, and didn't start jumping to conclusions based on wholly unsubstantiated evidence.

This sums it up for me. I understand some of the scepticism, but just like a new manager for Saints, they have to be given the chance to deliver results, and personally I think they will do so more often than not.
-
I know what you mean, but I genuinely don't think it's as bad as you might think... more often than not most people fall in between the polar opposites in any argument and can relate to points made on both sides. As people become more educated about an issue, they can then make more informed judgements. And no, not seen Avatar yet but intend to.
-
I think it's fair to say however, that under PR, more people would be incluined to vote for 'minority' parties, rather than one of the main three. I know I would for example.
-
Hence my point that maybe people need to broaden their horizons and realise that things quite often *are* linked. Quite how that makes me a brainwashing mentalist I dunno.

Article on the Beeb today, which I find quite interesting... many of you won't I know, but it does highlight the importance of looking after the natural world IMO... something many overlook, seemingly thinking that it is unconnected or unimportant to how we live our lives. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/science_and_environment/10103179.stm

Thankfully, this isn't Facebook. Not quite anyway.

Some good nominations here, but I have to mention the 'Fuse'... I still mourn it's passing, and hope to see it return one day. Of those available now, Double Decker gets my vote, just ahead of Mint Aero, Twix, Galaxy, Dairy Milk, Co-op White Chocolate Crispies bar, Toffee Crisp, Caramac, KitKat, KitKat Chunky, Flake, Twirl... and probably lots of others. Me? A Chocoholic? Never.

I might as well get this in before someone else does: Minty sits on the fence.

[Anyone taking this thread too seriously or who can't take a bit of fun being poked their way should probably leave now...] - Start of the season... most people expect mid-table, some expect more, some happy just to survive... everyone reserves the right to change their mind, and deny their previous prediction, for the sake of arguing on future threads. - alpine starts as he means to go on, using attack as the best form of defence... people who have never even noticed alpine, make a point of mentioning him in their posts to somehow make it seem more credible. (Including this one) - Every potential formation, tactic and set piece is dissected and proven to either be exactly what we need to do, or exactly what we don't need. Everyone is right about this. FACT. - Thedelldays starts to play devils advocate. Little do we yet realise but he is actually employed by the devil to do this job, given the dedication and time spent doing it. - Pre-season results go well/badly/as expected/don't matter, but that's ok because they are only for fitness purposes/are essential for the team to gel/are crucial to raise morale/prove that 12-year-old Johnny Youth Teamer is (definately not) ready to take League 1 by storm. And they don't matter. But they do. But not really. - According to forum members, the club needs: a new keeper, 2 new RB's, 4 new CB's, 1 new LB, 5 new wide midfielders, 5 new central midfielders, 6 new strikers, 8 new coaches, 5 new varieties of beer, better pies, an upgrade to the Spectrum ZX80 currently streaming Saints Player, new pictures in the boardroom, and someone to pay all our subscriptions to Saints Web for us. - ITK'ers confirm that all of the above will happen. Other ITK's confirm none of it will. A few more ITK's confirm a whole lot of other stuff that will happen that nobody has mentioned yet. - Frank's Cousin starts sharpening his keyboard... his dissertations on each subject begin and before pre-season is over, he's worn out his keyboard already. - The season begins. Mods forget to start/open the match thread, and 14 other people start one instead. After the game, everyone can accurately predict the rest of the results for the season, including scorers, goal times, substitutions and bookings. As a result, it's clear that we will be relegated. And promoted. FACT. - The ZX81 that now runs Saints Player crashes after 4 minutes of the first game. - Matthew Le Tissier (on the forum, not the player) posts something really, really important that everyone is ever-so-grateful for him posting. No, really. - StuRomseySaint takes a break from posting about his job, car and this weeks preferred female viewing pleasure, to ask what has happened to Saints Trust. - Halfway through the season, everyone 'knew this would happen', (whatever it was that happened), and criticises 'everyone else' for having a different view, when no one actually remember what they thought in the first place. But despite that, we all still know exactly what will happen between now and the end of the season. - Scott Arfield, Brian Stock, Neil Danns, Elliott Ward and Rudi Skacel sign in the January transfer window. Oh, no, wait... (Feel free to add your own, I should really do some work...)

Some of the comments on this thread show quite a level of ignorance of the Green Party. You don't have to agree with their policies, but they deserve a lot more respect than they get. If people take the time to look at some of their proposals, they should realise that they speak a lot of sense about many of the problems we face, even if you don't agree with their potential solutions.

Talk about overreaction to ONE debutant playing in a team of otherwise experienced League One players...
-
This is getting silly now. Martin is a professional, just like any other player in the squad. AP signed him because he feels he can do a job for this club. The only way he'll learn and progress is to play. Everyone has to make their debut at some point, and it would be nice to think that we fans might actually support our younger players and help them make it in the game. Or is that too much to ask?
