Thoguht they were pretty poor photos to be honest, if they're supposed to be from their 'official' photographer.

The last 5 posts could've been summed up by: Minty is a ****. So there, I've summed it all up.

Some point after midnight tonight. Sometimes it's early-ish, sometimes it's 8/9 am ish, but it's always the second morning after the game (i.e. Monday after a Sat game, so Thursday after a Tues game)

In alps' defence, I do think it is important to always review the poor results and performances, never dismiss them, and to want to improve upon them. Every player, manager and team should always be looking for improvement, no matter how many good results they get, otherwise complacency can set in and things can unravel. BUT, in context, now is not the time to be worrying about past results like Tranmere and Wycombe... we have momentum, and should use the positive mood and morale to carry us on in to the next game. Preparation should be all about what we could achieve if we are positive and win all our games. Even taking those games into consideration, my approach would be to encourage the players to think what they could achieve if they can eradicate those one-off poor performances... they know they have the quality, and they don't need to be shown how to play... they just need reminding about the standards they have set for themselves and to remain focused. Even then, despite all that, there will ALWAYS be poor results or performances, because that's football.

Not really, if you mean the one MLT juggled and looped over the wall? He shinned it, one of the reasons it dipped and swerved so much . Doh. The9 in 'didn't read the whole post' shocker. And yes, the way he hit it was very reminiscent of MLT's strike... very sweet.

According to an 'uddersfield fan on FootballForums, they were shocking tonight after going 2-0 up, and barely deserved a point, let alone 3. The pressure is really on them, and I can see them struggling to cope. I still think it'll be a tall order for us to make 6th, but if we play like we did tonight, then we'll just have to see what happens.

Went there a few years back and it looked alright, and above average for this level if anything.

And in that article: I wonder if this chap is related? Might put it into a bit more context.

Martin Samuel, Daily Mail on Coretese: "self serving" and a "buffoon"
Minty replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
It's an overreaction to an overreaction IMO. Cortese clearly wants to keep AP on his toes, and while I don't think there's anything wrong with that, I personally feel he has been a little too harsh. BUT, I think that initial interview was blown out of porportion and there is nothing to really worry about. Now this response by Samuel seems to be a bit OTT too... to label Cortese as he does is extremely harsh IMO, especially without having met the guy and interviewed him first hand, and ultimately, all Cortese wants is the best for SFC, for which he cannot be criticised. Whether he is being a bit too clinical and harsh on AP is a matter of opinion. As I say, I think he is being, but as long as AP stays I'm happy. I just think the talk of whether he'll leave/be sacked, having done a bloody good job, is a real shame and detracts from the progress made, but we'll see. But back to the article... it's written to get a reaction and it's got one from some people. It's not particularly stunning or incisive journalism and he is clearly trying to provoke a response with the language used, which is all a bit sad really, but it's generally a bit of a non-story IMO, -
Good result, made to work for it, but we won, and that's the main thing.

Funny really... it used to ALWAYS be like this whenever we held a lead. -

This possession is obscene. Would be nice to get another to make things a bit more comfortable: Possession * Southampton 71% * Hartlepool 29% Attempts on target * Southampton 8 * Hartlepool 2 Attempts off target * Southampton 6 * Hartlepool 2 Corners * Southampton 4 * Hartlepool 5 Fouls * Southampton 7 * Hartlepool 9 -

Go to 'User CP' in the menu, and then 'Edit Ignore List' and add whomsoever it might be you want to ignore. -

Most forums are and this is no exception. Best thing is to simply ignore those who can't give reasoned responses, but that's easier said than done for many people, hence it breaks down into the pathetic spats you've seen. -

Alps, I think the reason you attract so much criticism is that you don't seem to allow ANY leeway for the fact that sometimes, sh!t happens, or that opposition teams play well and get goals that their play deserve, or that tactics and their outcomes are a not something to which there is a right or wrong answer. You come across as thinking that every single thing that goes against Saints could and should've been prevented, and that as a result someone must be blamed. IMO, (and I would wager a large % of others' too) football, and indeed life, is not, and never will be, like that. There are too many variables, and if we could predict these things and plan for them as accurately as you seem to demand, then football wouldn't be football. It would be a procession of predictability, that no one would watch. -
Great minds think alike... and clearly so do ours.

Yep, still going, with Herbie very much still an integral part of it.
