The same "we're poor little Southampton", zero ambition and obsessive name-dropping I've come to expect from you over the years. The only thing missing from your usual posts was the "Lowe was not so bad, just misunderstood" dogma... We were on the cusp of something special, then Markus passed away, his disinterested daughter took over, a very hungry chief exec was kicked out and its been downhill ever since, sporadically propped up by selling off the family silver. and getting lucky with a fraction of the proceeeds. Now its caught up with us. That makes me sad and frustrated. Saints games are utterly predictable now. And the clappers know it which is why their vitriol has got significantly worse in recent times.

Yes, this. Its clear KL is getting her money out. Her attack dog has just hung a "For Sale" sign around the neck of all of our players, and we are massively in the surplus over the last year of transfer activity. They are taking a calculated risk that the brand will not be significantly damaged by the time she decides she has recouped enough and a buyer will still be interested. They must be praying for this cup win. Last summer was as good as it will get, its clear. Seems to me we are now in Lowe territory. Nothing has changed. Wonder where we would be if Markus and NC were still about...

On the basis of the last 2 games we've played I've changed my mind slightly on who is responsible for our form and performances. We created enough chances to bury Liverpool. We had lots of shooting chances today. Puel's tactics allowed those situations to develop. The person responsible is the person who decides what players we buy, and the fact that we have NO quality in front of goal any more. The only way I think Puel can be blamed is if one feels the fact that Long, Redmond and Tadic cant hit a cows arse with a banjo is because the manager has somehow failed to motivate and focus them. It may not help, but these guys are supposed to have natural instincts and ability. No, the person totally responsible for this mess is Les Reed. He allowe Mane and Pele to leave without having adequate replacements lined up.

Maybe he will come back and talk about Saints.

Burnleys ratio of shots to those on target is 3:1. Ours is 13:1. Tells the whole story. We are hopeless up front.
-
ALWAYS has been banned ? Guess its been on the cards for a long time. Persistently plays the man, not the ball.
-
Its a win, but we still dont have on our shooting boots - its should have been 3. We will regret it come the second leg, unfortunately. But our least we will be able to hold our heads high over the two legs. The worst thing for me is Claridge giving it some about how crap our striking is on the BBC, primarily because he is right...

3 groups are utter sh*te. I still remember Spain-England-W. Germany in Spain '82. Two 0-0s and W. Germany went through because they beat Spain by 1 goal. Keegan missed a sitter - tw*t.
-
Outstanding. Even worse than Delgado and Gashton, at least when they came back crocked from international duty, they actually had played.
-
Unless Liverpool are prioritizing the league next week, it doesnt matter which team we put out; we will be buried by them.

Fed up of reading the lame excuse on here of our relative position at the same time last season. We put in a run in the 2nd half of last season that only Leicester beat. We had the players to do it. No way is this going to happen this year. We arent even going to reinforce in January. The club has been completely overrun by complacency and delusion. I really wonder what Lord Duckhunter and Pampelmousse have been sniffing... I would be satisifed with 8th. This accounts for Liverpool and Chelsea being ahead of us, and one freak performance to replace Leicester. Anything less than 8th is a clear sign the club is moving backwards.

F**king useless at the moment

Fine with Fonte line. The rest was b*llocks. Just needed him to mention catering and a radio station.
-
let him go..

Reckon its true. Krueger has suddenly emerged from his pit and spoken to the players at Everton (confirmed in a number of media and social media outlets), and i have been suspicious of us rotating more than half the team against WBA and Everton; seems like divide-and-conquer to me ). And now suddenly Reed has found his public voice again. Oh, and there is the expected Norwich line-up to consider... Assuming it to be true, Puel and team have to go. Most of these players have seved us well in previous seasons, so its not them at fault.
-
if you think playing the man and not the ball is supporting. And i never knew supporting constitutes only making positive comments.

What a ridiculuos match thread. Ottowa and ALWAYS have appointed themselves thread-Stasi and are jumping on any dissenters as soon as they post
-
JWP and Redmond starting. Given up before the first kick, it seems. And Boufal being on the bench despite it being his last game before AFCON just shows this is bloody-minded dogmatic rotation for rotation's sake. Puel out
-
Another red card beckons then...
-
And the second hald run-in last season was nothing but bog standard. Have a word with yerself, MLG.
-
Oh, FFS this such a pathetic response. We were more-or-less PL champions based on 2nd half season form. Our improved position now means f*ck all because no way will we repeat that form
-
I am almost hoping for a good tonking if there is a chance it accellerates Puels advance towards the exit door.
-
3 changes in the back 4, 3 mins that show you why not

6 changes from the Spurs starting line-up. Over the half the team. It aint rocket science. -
Krueger ? He still even at the club ? For me its clear; no more expenditure, liquidate some assets while on paper not fundamentally affecting business viability, sell. We no longer have a board that are interested in the football.
