Sheffield Wednesday 0-1 Saints - Post-match reaction thread
alpine_saint replied to stevegrant's topic in The Saints
Hopefully. But we need Lambert to sort himself out. And where is Fonte ? -
This. Worried about Lambert though.
-
Lallana is back - already ?? :) :)

Let the floodgates open..........

Otsemobor is on for the Owls.
-
Who gives a flying f**k as long as we win our games ? All the good PR we need.
-
I am still about, and still log in daily. However the site and the discussion has become trite and banal; there is nothing worth discussing. The team is ****, has blown itself out and is heading for the forth division and oblivion. The fact that the biggest thread on here is another attempt by the agenda-driven SOGGY to slag off the lastest CEO in order to get sympathy for his "Lowe wasnt so bad, you know" campaign, despite overwhelming evidence that no-one else really gives a shiny sh*t, just underlines this.
-
I thought it was called the perineum ?
-
FFS move on, SOGGY.
-
It does if the first game is against Saints.
-
NO f**king way.
-
Oh come on TDD. This is paranoia. How are the fans responsible for a sh*t pre-season schedule and strategy ? How are the fans resposible for the loss of form and fitness of the team ? How are the fans responsible for our no-show on the transfer market this summer ? How are the fans responsible for the (allegedly) non-footballing issues that caused the managerial change ? I dont know why we always seem to suffer; I dont believe in luck as an issue myself.

Very good post.

This. Start preparing yourself now.

This season has been an accident waiting to happen. NC should have fired Pardew for non-promotion in the summer after he promised it to get the January transfer activity authorised. Then the fan base could have got the b*tching out of its system, the cry-baby players could have f**ked off leaving those committed to the cause, and the new manager time to get new players in. Instead, the broken promise festered all summer, a moderating voice was sadly lost (or was he pushing for APs dismissal ?), the relationship between NC and Pardew turned even more sour, and none of the measures needed that some of us, even uneducated to the ins and outs of football as we are, were clamouring for, so obvious that they were. In the words of Yoda - now matters worse they are.
-
I am willing to cut everyone some slack for a few matches until the respect and familiarity has grown, though I remain disappointed that we never get the new manager bounce. Chances are that he didnt say all this anyway, and its simply club spin. Also disappointing the see the return of the Meaningless Next-Day Platitudes that were so prevalent during the Burley era
-
Indeed. If the Bristol Rovers game had not happened, I doubt a single tear would have been shed on here.

Time to accept that it is unlikely we will go up

Oh dear. That old denial.... -
Maybe, but the Rovers game suggests not. Maybe they would have been very c.ocky after that and the same thing happened.
-
The only Saints set-up in the past 5 years that I have moaned about without giving it a chance (seeing how it goes) was Poortvillet/Wotte/Lowe, because it was ball-achingly clear that was only going to go one way from the start, since it was an ultra-cheap option. I supported both Pardew and Burley at first, until they demonstrated they werent up to the job.

Not if your name is Dibden Purlieu Saint, apparently..

An interesting post. So, not only NC should be blamed for a moment of indecision, but also all the fans and ex-players like MLT for sermonising on Pardew being kept on without appearing to have a f**king clue that the working relation between them was so bad. -
In the mid-term, it may well be that Pardew's personality cult needs dismantling and we need to re-build. Imo, the players are acting like a bunch of little spoilt c**ts.

I've known this deep-down since when Plymouth scored, if I didnt already it know it from the way the summer unfolded.
