We have to play with these referees every week until May. We have to start taking the game by the scruff of the neck...

Our next signing : a decent sports psychologist.

Oh, so we are just "unlucky" are we ? B*ll*cks. -
The excuses are running thin.

No, but he might he the team looking for a second goal rather than holding on, FFS. -
Agree completely. The tippy-tappyness is nice to look at (as with last season), but it needs to produce a result. We went asleep after taking the lead against Millwall, Brentford, Birmingham and now Stockport. We seem to try to be holding on all the time. With the team and resources we have, it simply isnt good enough.

Seemed the right time to resurrect this... -
F*king hopeless. Failed to get the second goal - AGAIN.

No, I genuinely dont think so. I noticed from the kick-off following our goal we went deeper. Their first goal just confirmed the players fears/expectations. -
Our loss of focus after the first Brum goal was criminal.

I was there tonight, and at the Brentford game.

We made Birmingham look like spare pri*ks at a wedding. Need to turn this into results urgently though.

I can go back to Austria on Thursday, very confident that we are on the right track for the first time in many years. I thoroughly enjoyed the game, we played some great footie, but what a pity our team totally took their eye off the game after the equalliser...

Considering all that went on last season and has gone on so far this season. that has to rate as the most ridiculous midfield proposal I have seen in a long time...

I came away fairly entertained, exhillerated, and confident we are on the right track. Couple of points : We play too narrow in the centre, with no width. Worrying, but can be improved when Holmes is back and by getting a right winger. As usual, fitness seems to be our worst enemy. Apart from going absent for their goal, I was impressed by Lloyd James. Melis is, imo, not up to the job. Gave the ball away far too often, I thought Thomson was a slight improvement. Lallana is an enigma. He was truly sh*t for the first two-thirds of the game, but was arguably our best player for the last third. Did he change position when Thomson and Saga came on ? I dont like the way he runs, like a nonce. Rasiak is clearly not interested, and I finally want him away from SFC. Saga, on the other hand, looked up for it and I would try to keep him. Hammond and Trotman look the part, and Lambert is tireless - he cleared crosses from defence a couple of times. Good buys, AP.

Pardew's post match interview on Solent

Impressed by what I am reading about AP. He seems to be the man for this job. -
Utter ******. We had a lot more bite and urgency up-front when he came on - he gave us an edge. Lallana, who was having a truly sh*t game up to that point, played much better when Saga came on.

18303. Me and my kids will be there.

So many of our greatest fears about what was going on has been confirmed by this interview. I feel sorry for JP; he was screwed by Lowe from the very beginning...

We've got a couple of decent full-backs, and we have a reasonable front-line including the best forward in the division. But we still have the same b*llcks in midfield, the same kids with no physical strength we had last season. A midfield based on Lallana, Schneiderlin, Gillet and co. just isnt going to cut it at this level. The problems are the same as the have been for years - no midfield general, nothing to link to forwards, nothing to take the pressure off the back line.

Got back to Southampton yesterday; currently sitting in Sunny Sholing. So Chapel is the family stand ? I will go there on Saturday 22nd with my kids, then. It's my 5 year-old's first match.

Rickie has just scored on his debut.

I was agreeing with you, FFS.

I would have also said an interested Saga.
