  1. Another somewhat dubious resemblance to add to the collection. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-68625041
  2. West Stand. I’ve not seen him post for a while but I seem to remember him referencing some of his exploits on the Sala plane crash thread a few years ago.
  3. I was saddened to learn this morning of the passing of Eric Moody, a couple of days ago, at the age of 84. I never met him personally but he was a Saints fan and occasional poster on this site. Eric was famously the British Airways captain who in 1982 safely landed a 747, after having ingested large amounts volcanic ash off the coast of Indonesia. If anyone wants to know more about the incident, including an interview with Eric, there’s an Air Crash Investigation episode based around the events of BAW009.
  4. Something I don’t understand: assuming for one minute all football board members and their associated DoFs absolutely despise all black people BUT are willing to exploit black players for no reason other than to promote their own careers and profits… why aren’t they willing to do that with black managers?
  5. You’re conflating two separate points; that we’re perennial chokers and that the Skates have more trophies. The first isn’t true, the second nobody cares about. People laugh at Liverpool fans because they’re obsessed with the great teams they watched growing up in the eighties and the trophies they won 40 years ago. Pompey fans bragging about trophies they won in a very brief post war window is probably more laughable than not having any at all.
  6. You’re talking about stuff which is barely in living memory. Aside from a few of the old boys who get wheeled out of the care home every couple of weeks for a day at Fratton, nobody is going to remember Pompey last winning the league in nineteen forty-whatever it was. About 85 of the 92 league clubs have won f**k all in the last three decades. PL money came along and that was basically it.
  7. We aren’t though. We didn’t choke promotion in League 1 when Huddersfield were snapping at our heels the whole way, then the followIng season we didn’t bottle promotion against a West Ham squad with much more experienced PL players. Since promotion we didn’t bottle any of our relegation battles either, including the absolutely must in at Swansea. We also didn’t bottle a two-legged semi-final against Liverpool and gave one of our best performances under Puel in the final. They’re the chokers if anything, 13 years in League 1 including a couple of playoff defeats.

Good for a scary news article but if it came to all out conflict they’d get nowhere near the U.K. mainland.
  9. What exactly is it you think Che Adams, Sekou Mara, Romain Perraud and Duje Caletta-Car were capable of last season?
  10. If we sell Alcaraz, it'll be because someone has made an offer that we deem acceptable, not because he wants to go to Juve and we don't want to stand in his way. That's pretty much never happened with any player.
  11. Of course we didn’t need perfect form, that would be preposterous. All we needed was a bog standard, straight forward 14 wins and 1 draw over the last 3 months and we’d be third in the table.
  12. There’s nothing fake about the fact that Leicester have a game in hand because of the Cup and are only behind on 1 GD. If they do beat us, that still gives them a 3 point head start on an 8 game run in.
  13. If Leicester hadn’t been in the cup and had beaten us at the KP this weekend, Leeds could in theory have won their only draw at Huddersfield and still been behind them in the table. That’s literally winning every game for three months and still not being top of the table. If you need to be literally perfect for 1/3 of a league season just to be within a couple of points, I would say it’s not unreasonable to call that “unassailable”.
  14. Leicester haven’t exactly been sh*te either but Leeds league form since the new year is just bananas.
  15. Thank f*ck! I don’t think I’ve ever celebrated an injury time Man Utd winner before but if that knocks the Klopp bukake down a notch or two then brilliant.
  16. Both of those photos in the article were taken whilst he was at Saints. Good luck to the bloke though, always liked him and he did an excellent job with the resources at his disposal. The fact that we brought two different men in to replace him and both lost almost every game they played speaks volumes as to the job he did keeping us up with that squad.
  17. So you think our own fans have some sort of small time mentality for 'just being happy to be in the PL' but will credit Pompey for winning three leagues which are far, far, far sh*tter. Essentially what they've won is the trophy for finishing 21st, 44th and 67th, or whatever that equates to in real world football terms. I'm sure we'd have won most of that if we spent half our life in the lower leagues. I'd rather finish 2nd in L1 at the second attempt than win it at the 14th, or whatever they're on now. Nope, never happened. Everyone loved Wembley and the European games.
  18. What, with their one FA Cup since the war (the same as us) which they went bankrupt chasing and ended up in League 2? I'm not sure what it is you'd care about them boasting about. We aren't comparing Man City and Stockport.
  19. I agree. We have a significant section of our fanbase who seem to do nothing but sing about Pompey and yet others seem to be scared of actually playing them. As funny as it is to see them stuck in League 1, IF we do stay down it would add a bit more excitement to next season. Lambert's goal at Fratton last time was absolute limbs, even if we did end up drawing. I think I ended up about three rows forward.
  20. I believe Glasgow had £5 on Putin, but he cashed out for £374, before the result was announced.
  21. It is but with Osvaldo you can’t help but wonder how many of his problems could have been averted but not acting like a monumental w*nker his whole life. He probably wouldn’t feel half as empty and lonely if he hadn’t spent the best years of his life getting women pregnant, walking out on them and apparently having nothing to do with the kids.
  22. I was thinking more Penny, Priti, Palin and Begum.
  23. A keeper as good as Pickford may have kept us up last season, as he did for Everton, but we’re talking about a a very good keeper and a very big maybe. You’re basically talking about one very good player bailing out a lot of crap ones, we’d still have had an awful team with two terrible managers. This season Baz has been very good and there’s no other realistic Championship option we’d be doing better with. He has strengths and weaknesses, just like anyone else, but overall performs well at this level. For some reason people talk as if he’s making howlers every couple of games and never makes a decent save.
  24. It lookes like we can add Holly Valance to the list of hot, right wing women.

Good, so we should. The only thing a crackpot like Vlad understands is strength, If we sent in peacekeepers as far as Kharkhiv, Dnipro and Odessa, Ukraine's safety and Sovereignty would be secure.
