  1. The phrase ‘housebarrassed’.
  2. Ralph picked him because he had very little choice, it was either him, Redmond, Djenepo, Aribo or Walcott most of the time. It remains to be seen what Selles’ team looks like long term and how that plays out but Jones I wouldn’t trust to pick his own nose. Overall, I’m not reading much into it. He’s crap.
  3. I don’t think that really follows, it just means that Man City are getting a slice of the pie for no real benefit to him or his agent. I would have thought they’d be able to negotiate a much larger slice for themselves with fewer people involved, signing directly for Chelsea.
  4. Why would he want to do that?
  5. Cant be arsed moving stuff right now but this seems to be one that hasn’t been locked yet, so feel free to carry on there. DT has yet to send a PM explaining how much of a wanker I am, so I’m not sure he is alps.
  6. So is vaccine mind control lizard paedophile flat earth Hunter Biden something something. I’m not sure anyone should really be listening to him.
  7. A contrarian for the sake of being a contrarian, deliberately being belligerent to keep up the illusion that they are needed to stand up for Scotland. Why she chose male rapists in women’s prisons as her Hill to die on I haven’t the foggiest but it doesn’t appear to have gone down too well. None of the Jocks I know can stand her.
  8. The job is now going to be community service for people convicted of anti-social crimes.
  9. Like Shearer did at Newcastle? Rooney has achieved nothing of note at any level higher than Jones did. He over achieved with a bunch of Championship underdogs at Derby but other than that... Marsch is about as okay an appointment as we can expect. Not as good as Ralph, better than Jones or any of Englands 2010 World Cup you might care to nominate.
  10. Gunn was highly rated when we signed him, as was Bazunu. Larios may well turn out okay one day, either way he seems to be a bit of a punt and not particularly expensive. I’d say our record of signing young Man City players is no worse than our record overall on transfers.
  11. You’d prefer not to have Lavia and Edozie?
  12. You think British football cliches are any better or less annoying? Get it in the mixer Let the defender know you’re there They’re a proper football club. He’s got good feet for a big man. etc.
  13. What do you mean ‘apparently’, where was this reported?
  14. Hardly surprising, the US government actively encourages conspiracies about aliens and flying saucers, helps to deflect people’s attention away from the far more mundane reality of experimental planes and other reconnaissance craft.
  15. So the guy who got relegated last season would have been ideal, but the guy who came in and kept Leeds up after the great Bielsa had them shipping four goals a game would be an embarrassment? Marsch wouldn’t be an awe-inspiring appointment but he’d be realistic for a club in our position and a lot of the hate he gets just comes from people being anti-American as much as anything.
  16. It’s a football message board, where people have different opinions. There will obviously be people who disapprove of pretty much any manager, at every club. We’re bottom of the Premier League, we’re hardly going to be linked with managers who are universally acclaimed.
  17. Jones being the manager when we finally won at Goodison is a bit like Truss being the PM for the Queen’s funeral.
  18. I'm not sure what you mean by this. An old fashioned, chest thumping, shouty Welshman playing hopeless long ball is about as un-hipster as I can think of. The only thing I can really describe as 'hipster' in our recent history would be the SCW/Clifford experiment under Lowe.
  19. And so ends our winnable run of games.
  20. I know these topics tend to get emotive and irrational after another defeat but it really is hard to make a case for a manager worse than Jones. Redknapp and Wigley were both lumbered with a bloated squad of substandard bargains and aging, injured has-beens, especially in defence. Poortvliet was the other end of the spectrum with a thin squad stuffed with kids, but sometimes had us playing with some sort of style and had the odd decent result. MoPe and Hughes collectively kept us up, so that’s…. Something. Branfoot was before my time so I can’t really comment. Sourness wasn’t this bad and Wotte actually did alright for a while, when Saganowski came back from Aalborg and started scoring. Jones though… not one redeeming feature or mitigating factor. Ralph had this squad at least fighting relegation, without Lavia, Alcaraz, Paul, Sully or Orsic (I refuse to count Bednarek or Bree as additions to our squad).
  21. So we’re basically going all in on a Jack high. Bold move.
  22. Like badger blood.
  23. My dog’s got no nose.
