  1. Halve those prices and we’ll talk.
  2. I think we can literally have a day off from this nonsense.
  3. That’s a very specific thing to be regularly hearing from football fans on a train. I can’t say I’ve ever heard anything like that mentioned, even when playing Spurs. I’m sure we have our fair share of kn*bbers but from what I’ve seen we’re nowhere near the scummiest fans in the country.
  4. As of right now I don’t really see much need to bring anyone in, although given that we tried to sign Williams on loan, we may go for another FB. If Theo does play up front we might see Long loaned out until next summer but probably not.
  5. I’m going with a slightly vague 10th-15th. I can’t see us being troubled by Fulham, WBA, Burnley or the Blades this season (in the table at least) but so many other teams, including Saints, are something of an enigma.
  6. It’s probably for the best, given the latest topic in there.
  7. To me, whatever people claim to believe is irrelevant. Abuse is abuse. Be it 14 year old Muslim girls forced to marry men double their age, choir boys being molested by Catholic priests or the latest C of E cover up, the religious aspect of it changes nothing for me. Anyway I’ll pop back in just before I go to bed, so I can lock this when it invariably goes to rat shit. Have fun guys.
  8. He always has, even when he was 16. Looks like we've found a suitable replacement for Hojbjerg already.
  9. I can’t see 90% of that happening, even as a worst case scenario, and the stuff which is plausible wouldn’t really bother me. Rom will be 30 and not really suited to Ralph’s style even if he has started the season quite well. Bertrand will be 32 and we’ve definitely seen his best years. If he chooses to leave, I won’t lose any sleep either. We can cope with Moi, Lemina and Hoedt, even if none of their loans do become permanent, or for some reason we’re unable to loan them out again. It’s having 7 or 8 unwanted players on big contracts which was the problem. I really don’t see why any of those three CBS would refuse to sign an extension. None of them are world beaters about to cash in at Man City.
  10. For me that's the big positive. If we need to dip into the market in January, we aren't shackled by an obese wage bill of players who aren't even playing for the club. This squad finished 11th and had KWP been there from the start, last season's farce with a different defence and formation every 45 minutes may not have transpired. We may well have been a place or two higher. With everyone fit, our bench contains Forster, Valery, Stephens (probably), Romeu, Djenepo, Walcott and Obafemi. That still leaves Gunn, Vest and Long not even making the matchday XI and they were regular starters at the beginning of last season.
  11. I remember a couple of years ago posters who watched the academy games were raving about him. Just goes to show that it’s a big step up, I guess.
  12. I think you can add Austin and Clasie to the wages saved this transfer window, we’d have been paying a percentage on both right up until June this year.
  13. Well, I’m a bit underwhelmed by his last three seasons and injury record but he’s here now and I’m sure he’ll give 100% for us. Welcome Theo, knock ‘em dead!
  14. Well, that’s either him or Kevin Bacon.
  15. I agree, it’s up front or nowhere IMO. Seems rather extravagant having him and Long in the squad, I’m guessing our interest in Theo is fairly recent.
  16. Cork and Chaplow I think.
  17. Good luck Sof. I’ve never hidden the fact that I didn’t rate him but he did put the effort in, even if he was never suited to English football.
  18. Is that at Liebherr crane on the left? Im sure there’s a good joke there somewhere, or at the very least some form of deep running irony. Anyway, good luck to him I suppose. Wasn’t his fault someone left the liquor cabinet in the boardroom unlocked.
  19. He won’t be getting his Arsenal/Everton wages from anyone else, so he’ll have to take a pay cut somewhere. I’d be surprised if we took a 32 year old permanently but stranger things happen.
  20. A few folks think Prince Phillip is our lizard overlord from a distant galaxy. You’re going to have to be more specific, please.
  21. Well, feel free to ignore them if you wish. Or continue spending however long you spent trawling irrelevant, two year old Danny Ings posts to try and prove Walcott is good by default. Whichever you prefer.
  22. Eh... What are you on about? I can't remember the last time I made reference to Cedric. What?! Loads of people didn't rate Carrillo. 🤨 Yes, my concerns were largely based on his fitness, which continued to be an issue for his first season here when he didn't even make double figures in the scoring charts. I was wrong and we were right to sign him, so what? All my opinions are now void?
  23. 26 year old Danny Ings with a proven, albeit patchy scoring record. Not 31 year old Walcott who even when fit struggled to get into a mid table Everton side. TBF it also reminds me of the negativity when we signed Carrillo.
  24. Hopefully not, I really don't see what valuable techniques he could impart on them.
