5 belting pens TBF.
-
It should be used, just used properly.

Technology is only as good as the people using it. VAR is supposed to overrule obvious errors, not give a 'yeah probably' after 3 viewings. The ball just bounced up into him off the challenge.

Finally (we'll still lose)

Oh dear Baffers.

Might as well have a proper thread.

Do any of the first team players give a d@*n?
Lighthouse replied to SFKA South Woodford's topic in The Saints
I agree. I’m not saying Austin doesn’t care but he certainly looks way off the levels off fitness you would expect from an athlete at his level. It also annoys me in society that the people who throw the biggest public melodramas are the ones perceived as caring the most. Being a bit shouty on MOTD isn’t enough to convince me he puts more effort into his game than a player who keeps quiet and busts a gut in training. -
Cue somebody pointing out that his goals per touch ratio is behind only Kane and Aguero, or something.
-
Wigan may have been League 1 quality but they played for each other with desire and belief. I want us to beat Leicester and City but we all know our gutless bunch of losers wont do it. If by some miracle we do make it through on Tuesday, our players will just sit there trembling in the spotlights, let City go 2-0 up without any sort of fight and hope they go a bit easy on us after that. After the game is lost and they've taken their foot off the gas, we will start passing it around neatly without ever troubling their goal and Hughes will tell us all about how much we improved as the game went on and deserved a result because of the way we played second half (apart from the Hoedt o.g. and conceding another totally unmarked goal in stoppage time.)
-
Boufal is a useless show off with a bad attitude. He had a bad attitude under Puel and Pellegrino, now Hughes can’t be arsed with him. He scores one screamer a season and otherwise contributes naff all. I’m not defending Moi but the joke is on us for signing both of them.
-
Can't believe we lost that, after taking the lead. Not like Saints at all.
-
Won’t be last on MotD!
-
It wasn’t the last minute but Kanchelskis would fit the bill.
-
I think Hughes will be sacked anyway when we appoint our new DoF (or whatever job title we're going with). Losing to Fulham for this purpose would be pointless as we're not going to sack Hughes without a DoF in place to appoint a new manager and having a caretaker would probably be a disaster. This is a 6 pointer and anyone hoping for anything other than a win is bonkers IMO. It's a 'must not lose' if nothing else.

None of Clasie's failings have any bearing on Reed's ability as a footballer. Poch didn't 'trust' him, he put him on as an 89th minute sub against a lackluster City team. That's it. Neither Gallagher nor Reed are Premier League quality; a succession of managers and their respective coaching staff seem to be agreed on that.
-
I remember when the likes of Marlet and Rebrov were considered massive flops because they cost £10m and scored 'only' 15 goals in 2 seasons, or something like that. I think Jo might just edge Carrillo for terrible signings, plus anyone who has ever signed Andy Carroll. Honourable mentions to the slightly cheaper but equally hilarious Altidore and N'Zogbia.
-
This is the football equivalent of a shop doubling the price of goods and then selling them as, "Massive 50% off! Wow! Amazing deals, offer ends soon!" but in reverse. Liverpool wouldn't have paid us £50m extra for VvD for example. It would have been £25m, with the £50m on top. This arrangement is basically meaningless.
-
There will be ways around that, season long loans with permanent deals in summer 2020 etc. Once agents get chatting to clubs, things won’t quite be so straight forward.
-
What an obscure thing to commemorate at a football club. Why this and not people killed by shark attacks, agent orange and rabies?
-
In what way and to what purpose? All the Promes and Walcott stories did was make us look even more incompetent in that we failed to achieve our transfer targets. Occam's razor; the explanation which makes sense is that we did actually try and sign those players and failed, so made a desperate bid for Carrillo as a last resort.
-
I'd say the point was almost certainly to strengthen their negotiating position with their targets, rather than appease the fans. The idea that it's intended to keep the fan base sweet just doesn't make sense; why would reaction to poor performance on the pitch be placated by the idea that we are failing to achieve our player and management recruitment targets.
-
The clue is the bit in bold. Fonte was past his best when he left us and I have no problem with us actually selling him, provided we had a decent replacement signed up... which we didn't.
-
I'm not sure that one was ever a link, just some bloke on a wind up, which was believed by pretty much nobody.
-
Actually, almost all of them aren't. Nobody has said either of the two quotes you refer to either.
