  1. I see no reason why they can't be included.
  2. Seems sensible to have a thread discussing all the issues which could affect our rivals in the League run in. Liverpool have announced Sturridge will be sidelined for about a month with a hip injury. This is on top of 3 match suspensions for Gerrard and Skrtel and an injury to Lallana.
  3. Selfish isn't really the word. If (and it's only speculation at this point) this was a suicide the guy was obviously dealing with some pretty awful demons. Part of the problem is that pilots cannot work for an airline if they are being treated for depression. Even if they get over it, it will look pretty bad on your CV, which means there are probably a few depressed pilots out there, not getting the help they need. This wouldn't be the first suicidal crash (not including terrorism). Have a search for Egyptair 990 or PSA 1771, unless your a nervous flyer in which case probably best not.
  4. This is incorrect. The door can be opened from the outside by anyone with the right code. The pilots and cabin crew have to know this code but even if it is punched into the keypad it can be overridden by the pilot. This is to prevent any hijackers from gaining access to the cockpit. Suicidal pilot seems to fit this best, as awful as it sounds. The most plausible scenario is that one of them waited for the other to go to the toilet, then blocked him from getting back into the cockpit, hence the banging on the door. If the pilot was incapacitated, the other one would have been able to gain access to the cockpit. This wouldn't explain the descent either.
  5. Obviously not but they always seemed to be teetering around language and content which was a bit 'edgy for prime time' shall we say. AS JBS alluded to, I'd bet the TG cutting room is littered with colourful language and inappropriate remarks about what they really think of some cars or situations.
  6. I sometimes wonder if Top Gear should be on an hour later, after the watershed.
  7. Indeed. I can understand people wanting JC sacked and I can understand people wanting him back but I can't understand giving him a financial reward for physically assaulting someone. I don't want him on ITV as ITV is sh*te and haven't broadcast anything decent since they lost the F1 coverage 6 years ago. They would probably have Cheryl presenting it along with some metrosexual tw*t from Corrie.
  8. I do like May and Clarkson has some good moments, Hammond though p*sses me off and tries too hard to be funny. I quite like some of Bruno Senna's TV work and wouldn't mind someone like that on the show. Obviously he is a driver and would need to be complemented by presenters with more broadcasting charisma but someone like that would be good.
  9. For the skiing or the turbulence?
  10. It is cost basically. Accidents are very rare. Accidents where the black boxes are irretrievable are a tiny fraction of very rare. Off the top of my head there was MH370 and a South African Jumbo which went into the India Ocean about 30 years ago. Even AF447 was found eventually. It's not a requirement, so the airlines aren't going to pay for it. It's also not an infallible system as you cannot guarantee universal satellite coverage. The onboard wifi now used by some airlines has frequent trip outs, needs to be reset and then still doesn't work half the time. It is less reliable overall than a black box although if it wasn't it would certainly have advantages.
  11. To me it just looks like the data continued to record the last known speed and altitude after the accident, baring in mind this is not black box data so wouldn't necessarily have ended when the plane hit the ground. IF you were right, it would indicate the autopilot and autothrottle were still engaged at the time of the accident. This would require pilot input into the autopilot, which shouldn't happen until after the pilots put their O2 masks on. Which would beg the question, how did the pilots become incapacitated if they were wearing the masks. It is possible they panicked and tried to descend before putting the masks on but the instinct would surely be to grab an oxygen mask asap. In one sentence it's possible but implausible, I'd say it's more likely the data is just tailing off.
  12. I think you've pretty much got it here. 30,000 people all in one place, you're going to get nutters in from all walks of life. In fact by the law of averages there were probably a couple of people at St Mary's on Saturday who will murder somebody in their lifetime. I don't think football fans are any more racist on average than the rest of society.
  13. This one gets my vote. Megalolz!
  14. Can't be true. This place is run like Auschwitz apparently.
  15. In an emergency descent you would get down as soon as possible but still not that steep. In that case they would go down to 10,000ft not 5,000 where this aircraft crashed. They would also likely take vectors from ATC, away from the mountains. More to the point a depressurisation shouldn't cause a crash at all. The pilots have plenty of oxygen to get them down to a lower altitude. It would have to be associated with some kind of major structural damage.
  16. To get from 38,000ft to 5,000ft in 50 miles would take a rate of descent around 5-6,000ft per minute which is very steep. A normal descent of 33,000ft would take around 110 miles, so if this descent was in any way controlled they would probably have needed the gear down. The only need to do that would be an onboard fire, however that track shows no change in course towards an airport for an emergency landing. An AF447 style stall could be possible but there were no thunderstorms in the area and only light possibly moderate turbulence forecast.
  17. Horrible accident with no survivors by the sound of it. Also very strange. For a modern A320 to crash from cruising altitude would take something massively unusual. I very much doubt it was a controlled descent Trousers. If anything a bomb on board would fit the description best but there is no evidence for that yet.
  18. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/liverpool-1-2-man-united-player-5381667 Lallana 4 and Gerrard 0 according to this. Although it also says Martin Skeletor 'kept his head where others lost it' right above a picture of him stamping on DDG.
  19. Fashionable though it is to hate Rodgers on here, I can't really blame him for not playing Lambert. We've been pretty much trying to replace him since we got to the Premier League, first with JRod, then with Osvaldo. He suffered from some bad patches of form last year, much the same as Pelle. He's not the man to get Liverpool into the top 4. A lot of people thought we got mugged off for £4m in summer. I thought it was good business then and I stick by that now.
  20. Just looks like the usual tedious, motivational bullsh*t people post on instagram if you ask me.
  21. I'm 8 minutes behind having paused to go for a sh*t. What an absolute lolcano.
  22. Anything other than a Utd win and we're 4 points away from 4th. I haven't personally given up hope yet.
  23. Hopefully the same Everton team that got destroyed by Dynamo Kiev show up. Unfortunately they seem a much better team at Goodison so I reckon this will be a tough game. I'm going to predict a draw.
