  1. Can't see one anywhere else, so COYR
  2. Well done Hull. Win and go second it is then.
  3. I said not much, not nothing. Lambert is indeed a good payer to have on the bench but I'd prefer to have 3 or 4 to go with the keeper and a couple of defenders. Cork, Jos, Yoshi and Chambers aren't going to change anything if we're losing. Davis is a hard worker but is hardly one to unlock defences.
  4. Like the look of the first 11 but theres not much on the bench to change things on the bench if it's not going well. I can only assume Gaston's future now lies away from SFC as he is regularly failing to make the match day 18 (unless he has a serious injury I don't know about). Would have been nice to see someone like Isgrove or Reed on the bench as I don't see the need for Jos and Yoshi to both be there.
  5. A draw for Spuds and Utd keeps them both below us. The Sky tater seemed to think we could drop to 9th if both teams won that game. Not sure how that works. In other news Moses starts in place of the injured Sturridge. The pundits seem obsessed with the phrase, "SAS partnership" normally but not one mention of Liverpool's "S&M partnership" so far today.
  6. I like chicken wings, so this seems like a fairly good proposition to me.
  7. I wouldn't have thought they would lose to Basel twice either but it happened. I think we probably will suffer a narrow defeat here after a decent enough performance. Would play the same side as Arsenal but with Ossie in for Lambert.
  8. What he said. If you like a good atmosphere, turn up at La Folie Douce at about 3.30 pm any day of the week. Drink, party and then attempt to ski back slightly ****ed.
  9. It depends in what context the words are being used. For example, I could walk into work tomorrow and say, "f**k me the weather's sh**e," and nobody would bat an eyelid. On the other hand, if I walked in and said to someone, "f**k you you f**king c**t, you're a complete f**king pr**k," I probably wouldn't have a job on Tuesday. Personally I don't see why the latter should be tolerated just because you're in a football stadium. I don't have a problem with people swearing and taking the **** but some people take it too far. Without witnessing a particular incident I can't really pass judgement.
  10. Is that Eric peering over the shoulder of the bald bloke by the TV? Couldn't you have found him a space at the front, on someone's knee?
  11. Which is surely the point of having cover in the squad. We all know Jos has limitations but he can come in and do a capable job if required. As much as we'd all like to have 4 Lovrens on the books, that just isn't feasible. When it comes to back-up players I'm more concerned about Kelvin and Fox.
  12. I think a lot of the stick he got last year was unfair. Playing on the left side of central defence with Danny Fox next to you is a tough ask. Even Lovren found it difficult this season and that was playing at home to a fairly average side (think it was Swansea). Credit where credit's due today, he slotted into our toughest fixture so far and didn't do much wrong by the sounds of it.
  13. Beaten by a better team but the sounds of it. Still, it's 4 points from trips to Arsenal, Liverpool, Man Utd and Chelsea. If they came from 4 draws we'd all be over the moon, so this game was almost a free hit. Don't really feel bad about it. On to the next one, let's see what we can nick at the Bridge.
  14. Well, however this ends we won't be losing.... at home to Scun.thorpe.
  15. I don't particularly have a problem with the Skates winning the cup. Not when half the players who won it for them were on £70k a week and have since gone on to sue the club for missed wages, unpaid image rights, failing to comply with PAYE etc. etc. I don't meet many Skates, living in Bristol, but when I do I've yet to hear one brag about the cup win in '08. A metal pot, a day out at Wembley and a half arsed venture into the UEFA cup, dont really compensate for going bankrupt and plumetting to the bottom half of League 2.
  16. Pompey surely?
  17. Not Saints related but I can't watch that goal where Phil Babb goes plums first into the post. Brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it.
  18. In a desperate bid to get back to the original question; Dean Windass. Not sure whether you would class him as a pundit but he used to do occasional match reports for Northern games on GSS. Never have I heard such razor sharp insight into a game of football as, "oh Jeff! oh it's goal Jeff, 'e's 'eaded ball it's... With 'is 'ead! It's in Jeff."
  19. When that Norris goal went it I suddenly felt like i had no soul. I just felt completely empty, gutted. Never want to watch that again, even if we had the last laugh when the points were added up after 46 matches.
  20. Not to worry, we can watch them getting spanked in a much brighter spotlight next summer, when they go crashing out in the group stages to Cameroon, Japan and Croatia.
  21. I quite like Ukrainian football. I also enjoy laughing my tits off at the French, so I agree with the sentiments of the thread title.
  22. Hart, Foster, Forecast Baines, Cole, Clyne, Walker Cahill, Jagielka, Jones, Smalling Gerrard, Wilshere, Carrick Walcott, Lallana, Townsend, Milner, Barkley Rooney, Sturridge, Lambert, whoever performs best out of the rest. I'm not writing off JRod yet, still think he is better than Welbeck. I wouldn't write off JWP or Shaw just yet. They aren't ready just yet but are performing well and improving. Injuries to first teamers could open the door for them. I'd hope to see both in the squad after the WC, when I'd expect Lampard, Gerrard and Cole to have retired.
  23. No, we are just constantly baffled at how he gets regularly selected for England despite being poor. Imagine JRod putting in regular performances like he did tonight and still getting picked. I would imagine most England fans would be rightly frustrated. IMO JRod deserves another chance but Germany will be too much for him and will do his chances more harm than good. Maybe a 2nd half sub appearance. Lallana had an average game but was no worse than anyone else on the pitch. If anything I'm reminded of Beattie's debut, where he had the misfortune to start in an embarrassing display against Australia.
  24. Painful isn't it. As soon as the board came up with a big red number 9 I switched the TV off.
  25. I'm willing to bet most of our players don't travel to Highbury.
