Promoted 3 years in a row. Can't just be coincidence surely.

To those at the game - Were Reading fans REALLY singing "Champion-es" at us today? If so, absolutely priceless. -
Does the Reading game bring closure to the Adkins era?
Lighthouse replied to pap's topic in The Saints
I would point out that this result doesn't prove in any way who is the better manager. If Poch was managing that Reading team and we still had Adkins, I think we still would have won. We are far superior to them and Adkins has a nigh on impossible task as far as staying up is concerned. Having said that I do think we've moved up a gear with Poch and I'm now satisfied Cortese made the right decision. Good luck Nigel, hopefully you can stop Saggy Chops getting promoted next season. Because Redknapp is definitely not going to jump ship if he goes down. Oh no, definitely not. He definitely wont bring in a bunch of sh*te players and leave in November with QPR drifting around in midtable. Never going to happen. -
Stoke equalise. Wanting them to win this, after Villa's good form this would be 2 defeats in a row for them (having lead both). Would leave them well behind Saints and knock the belief out of them.

Well, we have 33 points in the 22 games since losing at West Brom on Monday night. Extrapolated over a season that would give us 57 points. Last season that would have us in 7th place. Not sure about the question you're asking specifically though. Edit - Incidentally this form (1.5 points per game) is exactly the form Poch has achieved since he has been here. 15 points from 10 games.

The QPR vs Wigan game tomorrow will be great whatever happens. A QPR win keeps Wigan 7 points behind us A Wigan win sends Saggy chops down A draw would be perfect I think. Does neither team many favours.

Or we could have won 5-0 if Lambert had got a slight touch on Jrod's cross and Ramirez and Guly had scored their sitters. -
Vydra from Udinese would make sense on many levels.

Have you ever wondered if we have done match fixing?

Every time we played Darren Powell I suspected we were trying to throw the game. -
He looks like a chocolate rabbit which has been left a bit to close to a radiator. I don't care what he thinks.

They both have home games against relegation rivals next. If either team fails to win, I'd say that was it. They would stay at least 7 points adrift and so need to win 3 games MORE in their last 6 than Wigan, Villa and/or Sunderland. Would probably need to win 4 or 5 of their last 6 realistically to stay up. A massive ask and one I don't think either team is up to personally.

I'm stalking Spudders in real life. He is just so... manly and butch.

I did wonder after that game if Lallana will be talked about in the same way people talk about Prutton missing a sitter at West Brom. Maybe he will be forgiven because he is a Saints youth player, or if we stay up it will just be brushed under the carpet. I agree with the general consensus though. We were much better than Norwich but we could never get that final ball in or get a decent shot away. Conditions didn't help but we really should have won that. If we had we'd be level with West Ham and Fulham in 10th and the pundits would probably have us in the 'pretty much safe' bracket too.

Good effort. I remember the paintbrush shirts they had just after the JPT final 3 years ago. -
The US don't just pick random countries to invade. If they go into a country it is usually run by a bunch of nutters, even if there are ulterior motives like oil on occasions. Of course they want nuclear weapons but they should never in a million years be allowed to use them. All the current nuclear powers we can pretty much trust to behave themselves, with the possible exception of Pakistan if an unstable regime ever gets into power there. North Korea wouldn't. They are already threatening to Nuke America and the South and they haven't even built a functioning warhead yet. If we have to go in to NK to prevent them building a fully functional, nuclear ICBM then so be it. The lives lost will be nothing compared to a nuke being launched at Seoul.

I reckon the Sunderland game could be the one to keep us up, if we get the right result. I would love to do the double over Reading as I work with a Royals fan and he was very cocky after their trip to St Mary's last year. A win next week would pretty much keep us up and send them down, so I will say that.
-
True enough but that was the 4th game of the season and we've improved massively since then.
-
Saints have just beat Liverpool and Chelsea. Reading have lost 6 in a row and have a manager in charge we've just sacked. I think we all know where this is heading. I'd agree though that a win will all but keep us up and send them down. I'd be happy enough with a draw but I can't really think of a team I'd rather play right now. they have looked awful for quite a while and yesterday they made Gervinho look world class.

Think we will need at least 40 points
Lighthouse replied to Saints boy in Leeds's topic in The Saints
Being fairly generous to our rivals, I would predict: Villa Beat Sunderland and Fulham at home Draw at Wigan, Norwich and Stoke Lose vs Man Utd and Chelsea 39 points. Wigan Beat Swansea and QPR Draw with WBA, West Ham, Villa, Spuds Lose to Man City and Arsenal 40 points Sunderland Beat Saints and Stoke Draw with Everton and Newcastle Lose against Spurs, Villa and Chelsea 39 points All just educated guess work. -
West Ham will go down.

I think the Iraqi army was about the 4th largest before Desert Storm but the coalition casualities were 'only' around 500. Not saying that has any bearing on a potential Korean conflict but the US military and it's allies will have massively superior equipment to their NK counterparts. The USAF could probably wipe out half the NK army before they could get a shot away. This is unless NK has been understating the power of their army. Which is pretty much the complete opposite of what they've actually been doing.
-
I'm going to make a bold and rather dubious prediction based on nothing more than instinct. Whoever loses the Villa vs Sunderland game on April 27th will go down.

I don't think Sunderland's fixtures are all that great personally. Stoke and Saints at home are probably their most realistic wins in that lot but the way they have been playing you wouldn't put money on it. They have a trip to Chelsea next then a local derby at SJP. Everton at home will be tricky as will the trip to Villa Park. I'd take our fixtures over theirs any day of the week.
