  1. Based on what? 5 or 6 games at the end of last season and a couple of pre-season friendlies. I can't think of any player who has had regular injury problems and then suddenly got fit and started playing 30 games a season. As such I'd avoid Davies, he just can't be relied upon to stay fit. Good player though.
  2. Gorkss would be a great signing. Would love this to be true.
  3. Brian Jones, Jimmy Hendrix, Janice Joplin, Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain and now Amy Winehouse, all died aged 27. Only 10 years left Beiber you little w*nker!!
  4. Wouldn't mind having 2007 spec. Bale, Baird, Surman, Skacel, Pele, Rasiak and Jones in the squad.
  5. Ostlund, by a whisker.
  6. Nah, he's not a mental case. Just an attention seeking chutney ferret with a thing for blue eyes.
  7. Looking at that, he's touched the upwind engine on the ground, which is unusual, normally it's the other way around. The landing gear on the upwind side is supposed to touch the ground first. This guy has the right idea, but it looks like he has just overdone it a bit. It's no big drama really, will probably have had a few structural checks after though.
  8. Hilton Sharks bay was pretty good. All in and pretty cheap. £350 for the week. If you just want a few beers by the pool it's perfect. Not much by way of watersports and not much of a beach, but there is a dive centre. Hotel is shared with quite a few Russians and Ukrainians, but they seemed a civilised bunch when I was there.
  9. I'd just like to post on this thread before it is deleted and 1976 is banned. Here is an aubergine and a salamander P.S. 1976. As you said, we are all going to die anyway, so you might as well just kill yourself now. Please don't leave a mess for someone else to clean up though. Oh, and don't do anything which is likely to affect road traffic either. Ta.
  10. Bart just edges it for me. Both have faults, but I couldn't pick a better 'keeper of the two at the moment. However Bart is young, will learn from his mistakes and improve. Kelvin is 34, if he hasn't got crosses and near post shots figured out by now, he isn't going to.
  11. There is some pretty lame stuff being posted on this thread, but I'm afraid this is the worst. Are you suggesting that ALL forms of back pain force you to sit bolt upright, or were you expecting a facial expression like there's a mouse trap on his sweaty vegtables? I remember when Lambert and Lallana got injured during pre-season last year and the "they're leaving because we didn't get promoted" threads. Please can we not have this EVERY time a player picks up a knock. P.S. If Lambert is the replacement for Carroll, the barcodes will probably murder Pardew and Ashley.
  12. Looks like she's already been cremated
  13. TBF, Skacel was a feckin good player. It's just a shame his time here coincided with some of the worst managers in our history. He was a pretty useful winger, but a distinctly average stop gap at LB.
  14. I'd have thought most people who end up with drug addictions start of taking it recreationally, then become hooked and take higher doses as a form of escapism when life gets tough. I've never taken any recreational drugs in my life, but if something tragic happened in my life, I wouldn't say to my self, "well, that's pretty sh*t, I'm off to go score some crack to make it all better". Nobody wakes up and says, "I'll get hooked on crack". They give in to peer pressure, try it, then just lose control of the habbit.
  15. Like it. Neat and simple.
  16. Yeah I do, because I've got half a brain. No matter how bad things get, I will never turn to drugs to sort it out. Drugs have never sorted anyone's problems out, so why take them. Anyway, what are all these 'pressures'? Most of it was all media attention because of... you guessed it... her drug and alcohol problems. There are thousands of people in the world with similar public exposure who don't binge their lives away. You want pressure, try getting shot at in Afghanistan.
  17. Not the least bit of sympathy from me. There are people starving in third world countries, people dying from terrible disease and people suffering repression at the hands of tyrants who would have given anything for the chance at life she had. She threw it all away through shear idiocy, it's pretty much impossible for me to feel sad. My only thought is that hopefully this will be an eye opener for young, impressionable people experimenting with drugs. Sure you may look cool now, but in 10 years you will probably be a highly flamable corpse lying in a pool of vomit in your own living room.
  18. I'd start with Barnard and Lambert and bring Connolly off the bench. As good as DC has been pre-season, Barnard is a top player and vastly underrated in terms of our success last season. To me leaving Barnard out would be like leaving Lallana out. He makes us tick. Having said that, DC would be a great sub to bring on against Leeds.
  19. Maybe we should call him "Alex" in some of the songs. If people started calling me "Chambo" I think I'd jump off the Itchen Bridge. Chaviest nickname on the planet.

    Oslo blast

I'm not saying it wasn't politically motivated, just that it seems a bit 'unproffesional', for want of a better word. Not a coordinated attack such as 7/7 or 9/11.
  21. Am I right in thinking number 19 still hasn't been allocated? Seems odd if NA really is only planning 1 more signing, which I assume will be a centre half at #5. Maybe he wants a multiple of 11 or it's a lucky number.

    Oslo blast

I know the details are a bit sketchy, but surely this looks like the work of 1 loan nut job, as opposed to an Islamic terrorist cell. Bloke plants bomb in central Oslo, then goes off and murders some random teenagers with a gun.
  23. Anyone can make up a time. I could start a thread saying, "Cortese, Nigel and AOC to have final contract discussions at 1345 this afternoon" and nobody would be able to prove otherwise.
  24. I've got a 47" in my living room and it's brilliant. You don't get the full picture from SD TV channels obviously, but when it comes to watching Blu-ray and playing games, it's great. Paper thin too. Think it's about 1cm deep.
  25. Great news. I'd have him down as our best striker. It's just a shame all the hernia problems disrupted his season, then Guly kept him out the team for a while. We seemed to perform much better with him in the side. I think we only lost 2 games he started last season (Rochdale and Walsall away).
