I'll echo what most people have said. He looked pretty good, but with a few scary 'moments'. I think he has the potential to be better than Jaidi and Seaborne this season. He can iron out his faults with experience, but Jaidi will always be slow and Seaborne does not enspire me.

Saints 3 - 1 Leeds, Post Match Celebration
Lighthouse replied to Cascadia Saint's topic in The Saints
Well just back from the game. Awesome. Fimally people can STFU about our "first game of the season" jynx. Not the "Sky jynx" though, we could win our next 10 games on Sky and people would still pop up with that one when we lose at Old Trafford. Anyway, I'm being negative on a VERY possitive day. We made Leeds look very ordinary today through hard work and quality. Starting from the back, Kelvin made a quality save second half and was obviously very p*ssed off at that penalty. The defence all looked very good. Richardson gets a lot of flak but put in a decent shift and kept their left side very quiet, despite not having the best cover from Guly. Fonte and Harding were their usual top notch, reliable selves and I was quite happy by Martin's performance. Yes he made a couple of mistakes, but they will get ironed out with experience. There's no lack of quality, but I do think we could do with some more cover at CB. Midfield was generally excellent. Only thing I'd say is that Guly doesn't really work on the wing for me. De Ridder came on and despite some poor touches to start, looked pretty dangerous. Cork was everywhere, Hammonds goal was excellent and Lallana is on a different planet. Such a shame Lallana's second didn't go in right after his first. I'd have gone mental. Up front I don't think we quite clicked, but Lambert's set up play for Lallana's goal was fantastic. Decent finish from Connolly too, but he didn't really interact with Lambert fantastically. Thought Leeds were very poor, particularly going forward. Snodgrass was quiet and deserved to be dragged off. Gradel was probably their best threat, but was getting pretty frustrated and his attempt to win a penalty didn't go down well. Bit of a face palm when a Leeds sub (number 20) went to take a corner and some Saints fans started booing 'the wrong little black fellar'. On a final note. It was a penalty. Thought we'd got away with it for a second, but that lino was on the ball. Unlucky, sh*t happens, but this is Saints we only do 3-1. -
Losing ground on the top teams already FFS!

It doesn't ring true, it's just someone posting crap on a crap website. It's just some idiot going "oh look Gorkss hasn't signed, therefore the deal is off". It's up to you whether you believed the rumour in the first place, but don't change your mind based on that bull plop.

Levadia Tallinn Should be a pretty easy gig, but I'll take it.

He is a year older and playing at a higher level. He will find things a lot tougher in NpC.
-
I think we needed to be a little bit more ruthless when it came to letting players go in summer. Jaidi and Seaborne are two I would have tried to offload. Jaidi I think is just too old for a campaign in NpC. Seaborne I just don't think is good enough. I'd love him to prove me wrong, but he was found badly lacking against the better strikers in League 1 last year (had a 'mare against CMS at London Road). It doesn't get any easier up here. I'd start with Fonte and Martin personally. The latter seems to be a lot like Bart for some reason. Gets very limited pitch time, but is generally impressive when he does play. Yet, for some reason, people have decided he can't cut it.

I did tell him to give it 5 minutes.

I went for a dump at the Dell on the way back from St Mary's. Do I win a prize? Got caught out walking home after a match and dropped a load in the flower bed in front of the flats.

For the sake of playing Devil's advocate, Hammond Seaborne and Martin aren't good enough to play in the Premier League, so by that yard stick they wont want to get promoted either. Infact one could argue that only 5-10 players in our squad are good enough and therefore most of the team don't want to get promoted. In reality, that's not the case. These are proffesionals and will not just sulk because they are unlikely to get a game in the Prem next year. If nothing else Gorkss will try harder because: a) He want to prove Adkins and the critics wrong and that HCDAJFU in the Prem. b) If he doesn't get a look in in the Prem, he will want to put himself in the window for the next NpC promotion hopefuls.

I think it's supposed to be one of those 'Unrealistic HCDAJFU are really funny' type threads, but it doesn't make a lot of sense. The OP is just post #7 from this thread copied and pasted. http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?31603-Joey-Barton-sacked&p=1103505#post1103505

WTF? This isn't Barton's twitter, it's just some random post which Bridgey has copied from the general sports forum. Don't get why it deserves a thread on the main board, Barton is probably nearer the England squad than Owen and Hargreeves these days.

If anyone is interested, this is now available on itunes and is #42 in their chart. I reckon with a few downloads we can get it into the UK top 40 this week. Search for "Masterchef Synesthesia"

Just over 5 million people watched the British GP a couple of weeks ago (If you factor in the 180,000 at the track who would have watched it on TV). I'm sure the sponsors will be absolutely delighted that their brands are being seen by 3 or 4 '00,000 as of next season.

You sound so surprised. Just to add, referring to about 1 billion Muslims worldwide simply as "they" is retarded. Its like saying "the Christians in Somalia are never happy but the Christians in USA are very happy. All the Christian extremists in America should f**k off back to Somalia." it just doesn't make any sense. Most of the unrest in the middle East at the moment is politically motivated and nothing at all to do with their religion.

Niemi Dodd - Claus - Killer - Le Saux Fernandes - Oakley - Svensson - Marsden Beattie - Phillips Something like that anyway. I'm not so sure about the midfield being better now. Prutton and Delap were much criticised, but they were easily better than Hammond and Chaplow IMO. Holmes or McCann... both pertty average Championship midfielders I'd have said. De Ridder looks better than an ageing Tessem, I'll give you that one.

It's just an unpopular regime trying to drum up support for their unpopular political ideals (I'm talking about I4UK and The Daily Mail). You cannot enforce Sharia law on the streets of Britain any more than you can enforce Jedi law.
-
In 2003 our 'reserve' team would have been something like: Jones Telfer - Hall - Kenton - Higginbotham Tessem - Delap - Prutton - McCann Ormerod - Pahars Not good enough for the Prem, but probably stronger than our second string at the moment.

Don't know why people think this affects Bart. If Kelvin were to leave, it's hardly like he'd have the GK spot all to himself. We'd only go out and sign another 'keeper, probably younger and better than the two we have now. It's not as if Kelvin is guaranteed to play just because he has a contract either. If Bart is judged to be better, he will get picked.

I could have said that about a dosen times about Davis last season.

Not a biography, but 'Dynamo, Defending the Honour of Kiev' by Andy Dougan was a pretty good account of a true story. Basically it's a bunch of Dynamo Kiev players taking on the Luftwaffe and several other German military teams in occupied Ukraine in WW2. Inspired the film 'Escape to Victory'.

Got a Chevy Kalos I've had 2.5 years. It's a box on wheels, but for a 23 year old you wont get a lot better without getting soddomised by insurance companies. Will probably keep it till I'm 26 or 27 then try and get something MUCH better. Would quite like an XKR, anyone on here got/had one?
-
Davis made quite a lot of mistakes at League 1 level last year. He was beaten at his near post an very frustrating number of times and often made a harsh of crosses. I'm not suggesting he should be burned at the stake, or that Bart is God, however the idea of dropping Davis certainly is not retarded. I'd say they are of similar ability at the moment, with Bart's kicking letting him down at times. Personally I'd give Bart a shot as I think he has the youth and therefore potential to become a lot better, whereas 34 year old Davis will not.

Is it wrong that this one gives me a semi?

QPR make Saints an offer for Puncheon (Player Exchange)

I'd forgotten about Artem Rudnev, that would be awesome.
