If a girl tells you that you smell nice......

He is either loaded, hung like a horse or she is a stealth moose. Unfortunately I smell like sweat and horse poo, so I have no experience with regards to your original question. -
In short, no we can't keep up with Man City, nor will anyone else. Even Chelsea aren't capable of that kind of outlay on the accademy set up. However I do think we will invest in top level facilites, comparable to most teams in the top half of the Prem. We are not going to be spending out way to the top of the Prem, but we definitely have the capability to be up there, competing for European places. Comparisons with Man City really need a reality check. As Andy said, 7,000 seater stadium for the youth team is absurd. I doubt youth team matches for any club regularly top a couple of hundred. Don't get me wrong, they will have a fantastic facility if this does get built as planned, but it is a tad extravagant.

She was clearly playing Connolly onside.

Don't think I could stomache being a Coventry fan. It must be the most boring past time in Britain.

I would say that's fairly obvious. There's a recession on, people have much less disposable income and £25 a head for a football match is a luxury item. Let's say someone can only afford 1 home game a month. Would you spend it on a Wembley cup final, a promotion deciding final game of the season or a bog standard Saturday afternoon against Millwall? It's not that people are plastic, but £50 - £100 a month on football ticket's is more than many can afford. If people have kids and partners to take, you could be looking at £300 - £500.

Well on the plus side, he did plant one on Dean Windass.

If you want him to have any friends, don't call him Dominic or Keith.
-
We said the same about Cardiff in 2006, they ended up finishing 9th. They've made a strong start, but I think over the course of the season, Leicester and Wham will be the teams to beat.
-
Really, why do people care about what Brighton fans think about us? Every time a fans post something on an internet forum or a radio phone in show, people seem to get upset about it. Last season we were rivals, now not really the case. Let's just leave it be, threads like this just make us look sad and obsessed. FWIW I think we will both be fairly evenly match over the season. Like it or not, they've got a decent manager, decent stadium and decent crowds.
-
Odd. The only teams we've failed to beat since Adkins took over are Rochdale and Leicester. I went to both games against Rochdale and Keith Hill had them playing some excellent football, made us look pedestrian all over the park. Leicester are hardly cloggers either. But hey if you say so...

Jesus Christ, just how much cocaine did Paul Merson use?
-
Always thought he was a pretty useful player. Perhaps a bit of a lightweight, but good with the ball. I'd certainly rather we had him playing than some of the dross like Viafara, Euell and Wright who littered our midfield. Another player who I think would have done very well under better management.
-
It's exactly the same for me. Every time I see pictures of those planes hitting the buildings, or the towers collapsing, it just doesn't seem real. There's a kind of odd poetry about the fact that it was such a beautiful, clear sunny day. It just doesn't fit.

Adkins eats invisible Curly Wurly.

I'll have you know I was highly offended by this celebration.

I wasn't overly impressed by him, but then I'd say he was no worse than Fonte today. Prefer Martin based on today's showing, but they did have a tough job against a pair of very capable strikers (no, not McGoldrick). Both goals looked very similar from the Northam, ball coming in from our right and their player having enough space to drive a submarine. Fonte and Jos were nowhere. More concerned with Fox TBH. All those £3 booking fees and we go and spend nearly £2m on a LB who, so far, looks no better than Dickson or Harding. Odd.
-
Be fair guys, we really do need to get a 5th LB from somewhere, it may as well be Bridge.

Most of mine have already been mentioned, although I'd like to add Jeremy Paxman and EVERYONE on Channel 4 to the list. Also Katie Price and Peter Andre seem to have been omitted thus far. Perhaps they are just too obvious.

Love how we went all the way to USA and ended up having dinner at an Aussie grill, a Chinese restaurant and an Italin pizzeria. Just to add, if you're deliberating over flights, I'd go with Virgin and [geek] if you have a choice of flights, the A340-600 is very quiet, modern and comfortable[/geek]. My personal favourite moment from our trip was going up the top of the Rockefeller centre at night. The views from up there, looking South over Manhattan at the Chrysler building and ESB were breathtaking.

Prutton I think showed real promise in his first season and a half here and I'd say he was one of the better players in the relegation season too. People will go on forever about that Arsenal game, but to be honnest I've seen worse violence at the Women's Institute summer picnic. Such a turbulent period at the club, combined with rolling substitutions for the managers job really didn't help his development. The injury he got in a cup game at Leicester just after Burley took over pretty much finished his career off here. Shame, I think he could have done better than Viafara in 'running around a lot in the middle' role. The other 3 were crap.
