  1. My favourite Saints kit... ever I think, was the first CCC season kit. The one below. I like everything about it. The stripes are perfectly sized and spaced, the sleaves actually match the torso unlike last season's ghastly attempt. The badge looks good on the shield. Even the sponsor looked good. The Friends Provident logos always looked classier than the kit of plastic stickers Flybe used to give away in packs of Corn Flakes. Nicely embroided and well proportioned. No collar/buttons either. I don't like the polo shirt style collars on this years shirt.
  2. Hypothetically speaking, so don't give me any "counting your chickens" nonesense. Out of the current squad, who CDAJFU potentially in the NPC next year? IMO: Goalies In - Bart and Kelvin. Both decent 'keepers in that League Out - Forecast. Defenders In - Fonte, Seaborne, Martin, Harding, Dickson, FR, Mills. All decent and relatively young. Out - Jaidi and Butterfield. Jaidi too old, don't see Butters as a Top NPC defender. Midfielders In - Morgan, Hammond, Lallana, Chaplow, AOC, Puncheon Out - Wotton, Holmes, Pulis Up Front In - Rickie, Barny, Guly Out - DC
  3. Nobody is taking them for granted, however a team consisting of Dickson, Holmes, Puncheon, Jaidi et. al. should beat them.
  4. We have 6 strikers on the books (if you include Lallana). Just how much of an emergency is this?
  5. It's all pretty trivial anyway.
  6. I think Bignall, Guly, Chaplow and AOC have plugged the gaps I was concerned with at the start of the season. If anything I'd like another creative type central midfielder, but that's really about it. We have 2 quality players covering each possition right now.
  7. My opinion on the candidates: Alex - Seems like a nice bloke, but a bit clueless when it comes to interacting with customers. Gone within 2 weeks. Chris - Seems a bit up himself, but fairly switched on. Will go far IMO. Christopher - Cool and well organised. Haven't really seen too much of him yet though. Jamie - Seems to have a good business sense. Will make the final 4 at least. Joanna - Annoying as f**k, not too clever and gobby to boot. Will be gone soon. Laura - Smart but too emotional. Liz - Fit!!! Will probably make the final. Sandeesh - Doesn't do enough Stella - Another favourite for the final. Looked good in that window. Stuart - Too abrasive, wont go too far.
  8. Just watched it on iplayer, man is she a b*tch.
  9. I'd call that 51st (20 + 24 + 7), but yes that's being pedantic. We also finished 6th in the CCC a couple of years ago.
  10. Our highest League finish in the last 20 years was 8th in 2003. Just goes to show what a team can achieve if they don't have an extended cup run to distract them.
  11. Luckily Cortese is an intelligent bloke and can see the bigger picture other than just "17 points". There is far more to it than that as we've already explained.
  12. WTF? No it doesn't we've just explained this. We lost many other games and put in some poor performances in games which didn't follow cup ties. There were also wins against Charlton and Ipswich which were left out of the list of games following cup ties. If you still don't believe me, look at the 2nd biggest distraction we had last season. Pompey in the cup. Next game? We went and hammered the eventual champions in their own back yard. What is it about a cup game which prevents you from performing well in the League exactly?
  13. Bart FR - Jaidi - Martin - Dickson Puncheon - Morgan - Guly - Holmes Lambert - Bignall/Doble Think this game could be a good confidence builder for Lambert and Puncheon if they can pull out a performance.
  14. Hardly a disaster either, especially when you consider 8 of those 10 games were away from home and as Torres said, we played some of the toughest teams in the League. I'd say losing at home to Brighton was the only shocker in that lot. We From the away games we W2 D4 L2 (1.25 points per game). That really isn't all that different from our away form over the course of the whole season, W8 D9 L6 (1.43 points per game). Especially when you consider we had trips to the 4 best teams in the league and Brighton were unbeaten in 8 when we went there.
  15. It bugs me when people think this, because it's complete bullsh*t. It's hardly as is Pardew rested players from the League campaign to play Exeter in the JPT. Basically we just kept winning and didn't get knocked out. What did you want him to do, forfeit a JPT game to get us knocked out?
  16. Lallana's effort at Notts Co was better than any of the goals scored last night.
  17. Since there are so many experts on here, can someone tell me if "fag" is a homophobic remark? I know it's definition has been changed on an episode of South Park so it no longer refers to homosexuals, but I need to be definite. Just for future reference, if I call you a fag, it's not because I morally object to your homosexuality, it's because I think you're a fag.
  18. £2.5m? Behave, we payed that for Prutton when he was England U-21 captain. £750k - £1m would be somewhere about right, although half that would be reasonable if his contract is up in summer.
  19. Do you drop a load every time you jump in a pool? Never going for a paddle in West Quay again.
  20. Probably only doing it because she's board with beasteality.
  21. The old saying of "you can only beat what's in front of you" was fairly prominent in tonight's display. Very enjoyable game to watch though and a great result. The only downer was some of the sloppy moments when we gave the ball away at the back under no pressure. Better teams will punish this and those teams are coming to St Mary's this month. My ratings: Davis - 6 Flappy and bored FR - 7 Looked more assured than Notts Co certainly. Got forward a couple of times too. Fonte - 8 Class and a well taken goal Seaborne - 7 Did little wrong. Harding - 8 Some excellent build up play, especially first half. AOC - 9 Dangerous all evening. First goal was a fluke, but nobody cares. Chaplow - 9 MOTM for me. Ran the show in the middle Hammond - 8 Excellent Lallana - 9 Took the p*ss all evening Lambert - 6 Still looks off the pace and not scoring. Barnard - 9 Another hard working display, and a goal to boot.
  22. Have you ever tried ginger cake? It's delicious.
  23. The Team for the final was: McNeil Cranie - Richards - Wallis Taylor - Rudd Dyer - James - DMG - Sparv Walcott - Best Subs: Lallana, Critchell, Condesso, Bale Not sure if that's exactly the possitions they played, but those are the players.

  25. That's just... nasty.
