I’d rather us be boring and perhaps get something rather than be exciting and lose 4 -1. Would have preferred a couple of changes but Lineup was expected after playing reasonably well against wolves.

Yeah 5 at the back seems the only way to go currently. I’d prefer to see Gunn and jwp drop out of that lineup but unlikely to happen. Hopefully we can pick up from last week and secure at least another point.

Think if they agree to his request for an extension to the end of January its automatic. However if they added any qualifier or a different date it would be a different scenario.

If Gunn could not get stranded out of his area at some point for a game it would be handy too.

Thought var got it right in Liverpool game. Ref made reasonable judgment calls. Pantomime Contact that ref clearly saw but not enough to overrule, no more than mane’s in the other direction vs Leicester the other week.

Var terminals were a waste of space in the first place. In rugby officials are a team and guy in the middle isn’t asked to go stare at a tiny screen when the var team have reviewed it.

Var can’t eliminate something that’s not clear cut. That was always the lie.

My issue is less with jwp but with this current situation where he must always be fitted into the xi somehow and must be moved around rather than subbed if we need to change it. Moving him to right back when the right back Valery had negated their threat completely was bizarre.

Not a fan of var but am very glad we aren’t getting the awful extent of re-reffing, massive delays and still awful decisions. The penalty was soft but no travesty and likely could have been given by var rereffing. Hojberg’s arms were all over him even before the contact the player went down from.

Good away point. Plenty of positives. Hojberg much better. Valery and Bertrand decent. Yoshida good as always. Nice cool collected finish by ings. 532 seems to be much better shape for us. While there were still moments of shakiness from the defense but we looked on the whole more comfortable and it helped us make it less easy to score. You can very much see why boufal didn’t start. Some nice control but some terrible cheap turnovers. The bad. Ralph’s subs. Take off a right back who is playing well so you don’t have to take off jwp. Jwp looks a goal waiting to concede so he takes off Romeu to bring on another makeshift right back and turn jwp into a makeshift defensive mid. Was it Ralph’s tactics at 1-0 to have everyone sit deep and defend. If so that was crazy. Carrying on playing how you’d got to 1-0.

It really is nuts that jwp is unsubbable. Moved to right wing where Valery had been good and he looks all at sea there

Bemused at saints dropping off and trying to defend at 1-0. Penalty slightly harsh but we deserved it for our mentality after taking the lead.

Hojberg looks much better in this shape as do much of the team. Been excellent today. Redmond looking dangerous but needs a word to not want todo ithimself every t8me. Bertrand playing well too. However defense still looks too fragile to simple balls and Gunn is an accident waiting to happen. Not a fan of var or new handball rule but they have saved our bacon today. Huge second half coming.

Just want to see us show some organized defensive shape today. Keep it tight and stay in the game rather than hand it to opposition on a plate.

Expected 5 at the back given how wolves set up. Danso didn’t shower himself in glory so get vestergaard recall. Shocked he’s stuck with Gunn. Not sure what McCarthy has to do. Not shocked but disappointed that jwp starts.

Feels like a very big game to me. If we get at least a point out of it we can head into a tricky spell of games with a little more confidence.
