My only assumption is that we’ve shifted to a back 5. Can’t say i’m Optimistic about abandoning whatever strategy we’d been working on to accommodate vestergaard rather than play Valery.

Like the look of the team. Assume McCarthy has a knock. Didn’t even notice Adams absence at first.

I really can't fathom people who think keeping no deal on the table in a negotiating plus. Threatening to do much more damage to your own economy than theirs is hardly going to make them lose sight of the importance of retaining a viable solution to the open Irish border in any potential deal.

I feel JWP has shown he's capable of filling in for the odd game. I'd be worried though if it was anything more than that currently. Slattery has huge potential and between now and Jan i'd hope the club would decide whether he can fill the void or whether they have to go into the transfer market (permanent/or loan) to fill the void left by Lemina's ugly departure.

Would have been nice if Pompey had of been start of a deep run in the cup especially after drab league start. Away to man city(even man city 2nd string) is going to be very hard to win.

Had to ride expected tricky start, excellent covering by bedbarek to stop a certain goal on the line. Ings then some fantastic finishing took the game from them. Must start especially given how badly Adams is struggling. Liked the balanced defense, yoshi one misplaced pass apart was so good. In the right place so many times that their filth had to resort to a criminally late elbow. Having a left back, yeah and he’s very good too.

Loved the moment early when Pompey fans threw the ball away and Cedric just ignored them as if to say it’s your own time you are wasting. Ings excellent. Needs to be given more starts. Lovely to see a proper back 4 too.

Yeah he gave us a slightly soft penalty & didn’t award them one that if he’d given if wouldn’t have been overturned.

Awful fullback Looked poor at Centre back but to be fair hav8ng all your confidence drained out of position immediately upon joining is hardly a fair barometer. Certainly shouldn’t be starting upcoming games.

I do sometimes feel boufal wants an 3xtra touch ( moments like where he was hacked down but Bertrand was frustrated because he wanted first time release). Some fantastic play today though too and some of 5he stuff he gets criticized for Redmond does too.

Only really potential for worse reputation damage against a mediocre league one side.

The positives If you are going to give away a comedy goal do it when you have lost and injury time is up. Romeu & hojberg absolutely d9minated them. Boufal scared them. Bertrand looked good. The bad Vestergaard Our shooting Our strikers Redmond brought back early and injured The really bad danso Gunn for Wilson goal The awful Ralph. Fortunately he’s got a little credit in the bank as that was worse than our hopeless previous couple of managers in terms of set up. Made even worse when he sorted it at ht and we bossed large parts of the 2nd half For me that was most important game of 3 coming up, a chance to set up a good season where we finish above them. Better win the less important cup game against a poor league one side then as I don’t see us getting anything against spurs.
