  1. Don't see any point in loaning him out. If he's going to leave its because its going to generate significant funds.
  2. At 26 you'd really feel Zaha needs his big move this summer if it is going to happen.
  3. If we get big money for someone that erratic and not in our first choice center mid pair it seems pretty obvious to take it. Think we’d need some sort of midfielder to come in though not at anywhere near the price level of lemina.
  4. Guessing some of the add ons are to cover ourselves in case he suddenly blooms into an england international. 11 m seems a decent fee anyway for both sides.
  5. A cb probably next priority. Ideally someone bids for Stephens first. Lots of questions beyond that in terms of if get bids for players on fringe of xi/shift completely unwanted if someone like lemina is moved on we’d need a center mid If boufal is off we might need another wide option in Ralph’s preferred 4222 At full back the question is does Ralph like Ramsay/Vokins given we do move Cedric/targett on For keeper if we somehow sell both Forster/McCarthy is Lewis considered backup quality.
  6. Makes sense, freeing up room for Vikings to develop. Ideally you’d hope we’d get them up closer to 10m.
  7. It’s not going to be sorted. The big teams will get even more decisions with var.
  8. Hate those there’s barest of contact and ergo it’s a penalty decisions. Current var was never going to do anything but rubber stamp that poor decision which makes one wonder why the need for another delay. Looking forward to ad companies buying var break ad space on sky/but etc.
  9. That’s how I see. By simple fact of having more possession the big teams will benefit more. Man city struggling to break down a team, here’s var with some marginal call. Then you’ll see the same marginal call half the time during the season be nothing.
  10. Fifa getting more laughable. It’s ok for keepers to get sent off as part of their stupid penalty rule for 120 minutes but not ok to do so for them for same offense in penalty shoot out.
  11. While it is positive that premier league won’t be using var for goalkeepers positioning it’s still unclear if that means referees will effectively continue with the previous convention/tolerance despite adopting the rule or whether referees will be attempting to strictly apply it just without var. i’d Hope it’s the former and that fifa will quietly back away from their crime scene after wc.
  12. I'm very anti VAR but Also the whole added delay of the referee on the ground having to go view the incident is idiotic. If you are going to have some idiot in the sky reviewing an incident. Just have them the power to make the call.
  13. Yeah to me spending 5 minutes reviewing whether there was a toe end or the exact position of a hand damages the game. I can’t really see it getting quicker in those instances. Equally we see other similar incidents that don’t even get to the review stage. If they really wanted to muck about with 5he keeper rule they would have been better suited encorporating the convention of allowing the keeper a certain latitude to move from the line rather than enforcing this unreasonable Strict crackdown to an issue the vast majority were unconcerned with.
  14. If the argentine woman had of been meaner on the 2nd she could have stuttered at the end of her run up and the Scottish keeper would have been sent off for wandering off her line in a confused daze. As it was it was mighty close.
  15. A rule designed by someone who has no understanding of goalkeeping.
  16. Always assumed Bowen was a striker based on his goal record last season. Can’t comment too much but adding someone with an eye for goal in that role might be good. If it does happen you’d assume boufal would move on, leaving us Bowen, djenepo, jwp, Sims competing for 2 starting berths.
  17. Using your speed camera analogy it’s like doing someone for going 31 in a 30 but ignoring people going 40 in a 30 everywhere. If you were same standard to the entire pitch the game would grind to a crawl. Personally I think the tolerance is needed where being hyper strict just ends up with laughable double standards where they end up turning a blind eye to multiple other tranfressions.
  18. Minor positive news that the most fruit loopy of the lot has fall3n at the 2nd hurdle.
  19. Also most crucially was the throw in taken from the exact spot the ball went out of play.
  20. There was encrochment on the 2nd penalty. That's breaking the rule too so why not the same result. Looking forward to official measuring of all player yardages from direct free kicks with a tape measure before they are taken. Then a review post free kick to check no player edged forward a yard or if they jump did their jump take them forward slightly. With retakes if they did.
  21. The new rule seems nuts to me. Treats goalie behaviour with heavyhanded minutae whilst ignoring other petty rule breaking and allowing the striker to do whatever they want in their run up. Hardly like penalties with biased in favour of keepers previously.
  22. Knew when I heard of that rule change it was appalling. Attacker can do all the stutters they like but keeper has to stay stuck to line.
  23. Yeah we’ll have to wait for things to shake out first to get rid of dross.
  24. Loving the Star's line that Arsenal need fullbacks because right back Stephan Lichsteiner has left. So if you lose a right back the natural response is get a left back, that's still a fullback.
  25. I'd say centre back(someone to organise the defence) was the one position someone at top end of 24 bracket or above might be needed Van Dijk would have been about 24 i guess when we signed him. In goal we've got Gunn, who i can't see us wanting to supplant him with an older goalkeeper and in midfield Hojberg is already our captain.
