Both goals were disappointing. More evidence of us being unable to deal with aerial balls. Disallowed goal was frustrating. Not too much wrong with it & wonder if ref would have been so lenient on our keeper. Thought Redmond looked better when he came on. If only we could bottle that direct play and use it regularly. Long, frustrating. Clearly causes teams all sorts of problems but just won’t shoot when 2 decent opportunities arose.

Apparently Hughes is demanding we take more risks and go for it. Hmm would someone please tell that to the muppet in charge of the tactical changes. Ohh wait.

Looking at the squad we could be left with...

Well i’d Definitely keep long. Guy scored a hatful last time he was in the championship with reading. Romeu has been mediocre so you think he may not have people beating down the door and we’ll need a physical presence in midfield. Jwp you’d hope to keep too. -
Hughes has promised rotation. Wonder what that means. Hopefully the likes of sims, McQueen, hesketh.
-
Why not put hesketh on the bench then. Surely he’s an option.

Don’t agree. You can look across at Swansea who appointed a championship manager to see a manager how a manager can affect results. 1 point in 4, you might as well have kept pellegrino for that and not had to pay as much compensation.

Redmond annoyed me. Had the ball in dangerous area of space near the edge of their box. Rather than shoot he shovels it all the way over to the left. Complete buck passing which is so rife in this team. At least sims would have tried to take them on.
-
Davis the captain?
-
Get rid of him and pay whatever it takes to get Adkins off hull.

Saints stumble from bad manager to yet another one. Tactically he actually he actually handed momentum to Leicester by taking off long. Utterly cowardly too. No doubt he’ll claim the most pointless point ever was vital. Please get rid off quickly.

Jwp’s ultimate Prem player saints player selections show our problem. No lambert anymore or Van Dijk to win headers at the back.
-
Felt sorry for long most of the half as no one would try playing a pass to his feet, all they wanted to do was the usual shovel out wide nonsense. Then finally when he gets a lovely ball he ******es it up by trying to pass the buck with an extremely difficult pass rather than just having a go as you’d want your striker to. If we are going to carry on the mindless cross stuff we should have Austin on. First 30 minutes thought we were very poor. Last 10/15 we were the better side but didn’t rest the keeper with either presentable opportunity we had. If I wasn’t so convinced the team would bottle it anyway i’d Think not taking those opportunities would be costly.

A couple of times we’ve already looked dodgy defensively.
-
Looks like we may have the ignomity of finishing bottom now WBA have learnt how to pick up points.
-
Most likely 3-1 loss. Start brightly score, rollover. Personally hope he rings the changes and brings in youngsters.
-
Agree completely. They should all be playing remaining games.
-
What a surprise that our rivals are less pathetic than Saints xi. Coffin firmly nailed down.
-
More likely laughing their heads off at Saints capitulation.
-
It would at the very least have broken the game up and allowed an attempt to re-organise. Equally someone like Lemina who is composed on the ball usually would have been handy. The 2nd goal would have been stopped if Ward Prowse had of shown composure when the ball came to him in space at the edge of the box. Instead he wildly swiped at it resulting in the ball going straight back to Chelsea.
-
"A 2-0 lead is always a difficult one to protect." Ohh please Hughes that is just complete nonsense.
-
Today illustrates exactly why we are going down. Even 2 of our wins(against west ham and WBA away) felt like we tried to throw them away.

All season we've been pathetic when leading. It's worse when they make you hope by actually playing well and leading and then bottling it. Today nailed relegation on. Bad defending. Poor management not to bother trying to do anything whilst house collapses. Time to just accept relegation & play more of the u23's
