  1. I want the club to be aiming high at the very least to get into europe which is something we've done twice in recent history. Krueger wants to take us back to the days when not being in a relegation battle was the sole ambition & that's rotten imo. I accept exceptional players won't stay long term but we'll be compensated hansomly when they do.
  2. Hope the Hart rumour is rubbish Mainly as it would mean we’d likely be losing McCarthy if we were truly interested.
  3. Don’t agree that both are mutually exclusive. We should be shifting on at least 2 of the existing attackers(Carrillo, long etc) to make way for one big buy & Gallagher.
  4. Reading krueger’s Interview on the echo website is pretty depressing. Unless you care about football in China doesn’t seem Saints have any ambition left beyond staying on premier league gravy train.
  5. We need a vocal organizer who is dominant aerially, if that’s Gibson great, otherwise avoid.
  6. McCarthy : stay Forster: sell or loan away Cedric: would keep but expect will go & won’t be weeping about it. Pied: release Bertrand: would keep but expect he’ll go. Targett: keep if Bertrand goes McQueen ???? Yoshida: sell Stephens stay Hoedt stay Bednarek stay Romeu stay Lemina stay Hojberg stay Jwp stay Davis expect he’ll leave & go back to rangers. Redmond stay Tadic stay but may want to leave Boufal leave Sims stay Austin stay Gabbi stay but expect he’ll want to leave Long leave (Like him but need replacing with someone younger who can score) Carrillo ( leave, leave pls leave) Gallagher stay Hesketh stay & pls give him a game That leaves back up goalkeeper, 1 or 2 right backs, 1 center back, perhaps 1 left back, an attacking midfielder possibly 2 & a striker needed via the transfer market.
  7. As long as Switzerland lose every game at the World Cup i’ll Be happy. Rose getting shown up badly would be a bonus for unjustly getting selected despite barely playing.
  8. I still have some major reservations about Hughes but fully expect him to be in charge next season after keeping us up. Taking another gamble after two unpopular gambles seems highly unlikely from the board. Of the unemployed managers with significant Prem experience Wenger wouldn’t come, if Silva was interested surely he would have come in feb .....
  9. What the chances we will actually get any money for boufal. Smells like loan spirit.
  10. Not being given opportunities not aided by the managerial churn. Hesketh prime example. Came in under Koeman did ok, got injured, came back in under Puel did well, got dragged off in a European game where every other player was playing equally badly. Hasn’t had an opportunity since.
  11. Well he does manage to say and awful lot of words and sound impressive and you walk away with no idea regarding any issue. Not sure if that’s good or bad in a chairman to be honest. I disagreed strongly with blackmore’s view that we should hand Hughes the transfer kitty based on him being a former player, ignoring his rather poor transfer history as a manager. I was very curious regarding the Sadio Mane portion. Was Krueger implying our strategy had shifted to not trying to sign another mane. Not particularly happy at the constant lowering of ambitions. Worried that pathway for younger players may suffer even more than it currently does going forward.
  12. Would be disappointed if Bertrand misses out for rose who has barely played this season. Find it odd that Wilshere/hart omissions are already confirmed but other big omissions aren’t yet.
  13. Really annoying rolling over in last seconds to hand them the 100 point mark. At least this atrocious season is over.
  14. That's my point. Despite some of the criticisms of our existing approach its been much more successful overall & if Hughes does come in it should be because he's willing to work within the structure rather than being handed complete control.
  15. He's had lots of equally bad & he's had nowhere near the same successful percentage of successful, let alone hyper successful as Saints have had.
  16. Hughes history of signings at stoke was pretty dire. Of the list from 5 years i’d Say only Allen, shaqiri &indi stood out. Our transfer record looks a lot better by and large over that period even including letting our last manager buy he’s favourite £20m Turkey. No desire to see Hughes suddenly have complete dominance over our transfer approach.
  17. Hardly a fair comparison as unlike Gallagher Austin wasn't forced to play out of position on the right wing for much of his time.
  18. I’d prefer he stay & be given more minutes. If he is going to go we shouldn’t be railroaded into the typical Italian loan deal.
  19. Move reed on. He’s not going to displace our current center mids imo. Targett. If Bertie leaves i’d Prefer we give targett/mcqueen chance to sine & invest money elsewhere in squad. If Ryan stays you’d expect targett to move on. I’d like to see gallagher give a chance next season largely as there’s a number of our existing attackers should be move on. Before he got injured and was being played in his natural position he scored some goals for Birmingham just as he did for Blackburn.
  20. He clearly shouldn’t be allowed to. I’m interested to see if he does as it’ll be a bell weather on how seriously football takes head injuries.
  21. Personally i’d Rather Keep Les & co. while we’ve made some flawed signings there’s been more good than bad over the longer run. Equally if Hughes is staying there needs to be a strong transfer committee challenging him. Look at stoke and see a club with a much worse transfer record. A few players need to be cleared out. Some good servants & some bad buys (Forster, pied, yoshida, Davis, long, Carrillo, boufal) A dominant center back needs to come in. An attacking mid with real pace needs to come in. A back up keeper needs to come in. A striker who is a physical menace and has at least some mobility.
  22. Very good keeper. His kicking is pretty much the only area of his game he needs to work on.
  23. Hughes has made a fair number of bad tactical changes since he’s taken over but that bold move of bringing on gabbi deserves credit. Never want one of our players to get injured but bednarek’s head injury was somewhat lucky. Also if premier league takes head 8njury protocol seriously bednarek shouldn’t play at 5h3 weekend. Expected that last ditch scuffed shot into the box to lead to a goal. Thankfully Stephens was in the right place to lump it clear. Equally if they equalised Shane would have deserved extreme grief for not lay8ng 5he ball across for a tap in second. The last 3 games we’ve played some nicer stuff at times. That Swansea side were turgid today and on that evidence they should go down. Still not Hughes biggest fan but he’s earned a shot at the hot seat next season as long as he buys into the club’s mentality.
  24. Wonder if Austin nor burying one of those 2 chances may come back to haunt us. You can see Swansea have done their homework with their crossing methodology. We need more urgency in 2nd half. A draw is little use to us whereas it may serve them well.
  25. To be honest injury time was fair. Cedric was down for that long. What was Bertrand doing. Just put the ball in the stand. Our decision making has been shocking all season Redmond excellent today. Really gutting to let in an awful deflected goal after mccarthy’s Wonder save.
