Played very well for first 20 and ings should have scored when put straight through. Got lucky on penalty. Barnes is theatrical but McCarthy doesn’t get ball and his leg would have tripped Barnes. Ings injury may be more than a knock, he was ignoring the clapping during his lap of the touch line which maybe suggests deflation/worry on his part. Still think we’ve got other options in that position if need be. Jwp has done fine at wingback. Slatery has looked bright apart from his early (was it a slip) or a foul on their defender.

Disappointed to see Austin has made the bench ahead of gallagher.
-
Anyone of them apart from Austin as they can all play the role Ralph wants.

McCarthy bednarek Stephens vestergaard Jwp Romeu peh targett Redmond Long Armstrong Subs: Gunn, Valery, Johnson, Slattery, elyounessi, gallagher, Ings

Disappointed we weren’t able to sell Austin. Reasonably Happy with other departures. Upfront we are fine. have to trust Ralph that he’s happy with others to cover for Valery at right back. Think focusing on summer is right move.
-
Don’t see why we’d loan out gallagher.
-
Not blame, common sense. Guy who is no longer first gets a chance to go to inter and be first choice. Of course he wouldn’t be full of joys of spring if told to hang about reserves. Apparently Liverpool are crazy loaning out their only fit specialist right back while relying on an injured 20 year old and midfielders like Henderson playing out of position
-
Clearly Ralph think having a youngster or the likes of jwp covering valery is preferable to having Cedric sulking out the place.
-
Because clubs don’t want to release their starters mid season.
-
We have learned from our mistakes, we aren’t throwing money at garbage like Carrillo this year.
-
Seems like we are hoping someone will want a panic buy near deadline.

Hesketh and Flannigan join Burton Albion on loan
Baird of the land replied to SuperSAINT's topic in The Saints
Was hoping he might get some minutes with us after the successful loan spell at Burton. Probably time for him to move on full time in the summer if he isn't considered worth a look before the summer re-haul. Maybe he's going to the next Ben Reeves at MK Dons -
Agree both challenges were similar. Disagree that either of those challenges should ever be red cards, it’ll spoil if they keep going this route of trying to remove tackling from the game by this new interpretation.
-
A rubbish team that have beaten spurs and man city.
-
No panic here if summer is what it is. Today we played poorly but got out with a point. Before we would have lost imo.
-
Hope McCarthy is better at dealing with crosses or this could go horribly.
-
I think we’ll largely stick with 343 this season due to defensive frailties.
-
Valery was hardly hauled off. It’s was clearly an attacking move by Ralph because we were losing.
-
Happy with a point. Think Ralph should have changed to a 4 earlier and not sure why he didn’t go for it with one of 5he strikers at 1-1 rather than bringing on Slattery. Maybe happy banking a point. Too much slow sideways passing. The amount of times we had 3/4 players passing sideways to each other on halfway line and a few times even ended up losing the all rather than going forwards. McCarthy was poor today. Wonder if Gunn May come in as palace really targeted him from crosses. Loved zaha getting sent off. What a numpty.
-
As if Cedric would have won any of those headers from cross field balls palace are playing let alone keep zaha in his back pocket on the ground.
-
We seem a bit predicatable tonight apart from few occasions pressure has caused palace to make a silly mistake. Too reliant on getting the ball out to the wingbacks with not enough coming direct through the middle. Interesting to see what reaction we get in the second half and how Ralph counters palace’s approach.

16 of 24 is a lot more than barely and that’s with an idiot like Hughes deliberately playing him when injured. Even With Obafemi injured, Austin is still nowhere near the bench, let alone gabbi if he was still here.
-
We’re hardly thin up front for a team that plays one upfront.
-
Good to see an unchanged team. Shame Bertrand isn’t fit enough for bench at least yet.
-
Can’t stand city, so happy to see them lose.
