  1. Can’t see anyone paying 20m million for jrod.
  2. Growing up supporting saints and a smaller country means a greater appreciation of wins and qualifications because the state of affairs often is far less rosy.
  3. Yeah Qualifying for every tournament is so depressing!
  4. Nonsense in my eyes. He gets paid to play football not be a role model. Couldn't care less that he has a gun tattooed on him other than thinking its ugly.
  5. Wouldn't necessarily begrudge him a move. At 23 he really needs to be playing regularly especially as he's 3rd choice currently for us. Wonder if move had anything to do with him getting that last runout against City. Thought Puel's decision to move to fullback worked well for him as he was nowhere near making a breakthrough as a winger
  6. Of course they have to fit. Perhaps at a top 6 club they might be willing to bench sit but I don’t see it at saints. Shaqiri’s attitude is horrendous too.
  7. Mawson, well we need a cb. There are a load of options & he just about edges it for me. Promes: we need an attacking mid with pace. If sisto impresses me at wc I may change my mind. ings: we need to clear out the strikers. I’d see if inns is sur0lus to requirement. McNair: we may very well need the 4th buy elsewhere if we lost Cedric etc but given a freehand I think McNair is a very good player who could be gotten rather cheaply off the mess that is Sunderland. Much younger version of Davis. Can play at cb too & has more of an eye for goal than davo.
  8. Liverpool will probably be buying 2 keepers. Hopefully if they go for a Brit it’ll be Butland.
  9. Will be disappointed if that means Salah won't get to play in World Cup.
  10. Good point regarding young players, can’t recall him ever doing so. (I thought he might have given jones his start at blackburn but that was after he left.) Be interesting to see how things pan out in that arena with the likes of sims, hesketh, gallagher & even bednarek over a longer period. I’m hoping others in the club will restrict his influence over transfers & curtail a lot of the awful purchases. As for style, there were times where it was horrible under him and times it seemed good. Guess we’ll see what degree of radical shift there will be.
  11. Would have preferred a shorter contract but then i’m Still less than ectastic about Hughes in general.
  12. Yep hoping he stays. If we can get the right speedster to complement his skillful play that would be ideal.
  13. Get rid by whatever means possible, whether that's loan or sale. Showed absolutely nothing & is taking up a squad place & burdening our wage bill. Annoys me that we loaned out Gallagher rather than give him an opportunity & then spent a fortune on this dross in January.
  14. Think that's just Shaqiri's bad attitude. He also slagged of his team mates whilst on International duty. Personally i hope we steer clear of him.
  15. And his awful transfer record at QPR or with Mega money at City His record at transfers at stoke isn't just bad over one window its genuinely poor over his entire time there.
  16. He either stays as is or we replace him with someone in same role with similar influence. Last thing i would want is a lame duck director of football & transfer committee power being shifted towards manager, especially one with as poor a record in the transfer market as Hughes.
  17. Bringing in a 21 year old who isn't a regular at his club doesn't seem to at all fit what we need.
  18. I want the club to be aiming high at the very least to get into europe which is something we've done twice in recent history. Krueger wants to take us back to the days when not being in a relegation battle was the sole ambition & that's rotten imo. I accept exceptional players won't stay long term but we'll be compensated hansomly when they do.
  19. Hope the Hart rumour is rubbish Mainly as it would mean we’d likely be losing McCarthy if we were truly interested.
  20. Don’t agree that both are mutually exclusive. We should be shifting on at least 2 of the existing attackers(Carrillo, long etc) to make way for one big buy & Gallagher.
  21. Reading krueger’s Interview on the echo website is pretty depressing. Unless you care about football in China doesn’t seem Saints have any ambition left beyond staying on premier league gravy train.
  22. We need a vocal organizer who is dominant aerially, if that’s Gibson great, otherwise avoid.
  23. McCarthy : stay Forster: sell or loan away Cedric: would keep but expect will go & won’t be weeping about it. Pied: release Bertrand: would keep but expect he’ll go. Targett: keep if Bertrand goes McQueen ???? Yoshida: sell Stephens stay Hoedt stay Bednarek stay Romeu stay Lemina stay Hojberg stay Jwp stay Davis expect he’ll leave & go back to rangers. Redmond stay Tadic stay but may want to leave Boufal leave Sims stay Austin stay Gabbi stay but expect he’ll want to leave Long leave (Like him but need replacing with someone younger who can score) Carrillo ( leave, leave pls leave) Gallagher stay Hesketh stay & pls give him a game That leaves back up goalkeeper, 1 or 2 right backs, 1 center back, perhaps 1 left back, an attacking midfielder possibly 2 & a striker needed via the transfer market.
  24. As long as Switzerland lose every game at the World Cup i’ll Be happy. Rose getting shown up badly would be a bonus for unjustly getting selected despite barely playing.
  25. I still have some major reservations about Hughes but fully expect him to be in charge next season after keeping us up. Taking another gamble after two unpopular gambles seems highly unlikely from the board. Of the unemployed managers with significant Prem experience Wenger wouldn’t come, if Silva was interested surely he would have come in feb .....
