  1. Hope utd win, we get into europa automatically, van gaal keeps his job and hence united suffer yet another poor season next year and this time we get to finish above them
  2. No doubt that the aim of this is sneaking B teams for the top 4/5 teams in the premiership as part of the new 8 clubs. "extra teams could come from the National League or premier league b teams." Hope the league clubs manage to fight off this.
  3. I want a right back primarily to be able to defend. Saw Christie get absolutely torn to shreds in the utd cup tie. I don't really want a development project right back. We've got cedric who's only 24 if that's the plan anyway.
  4. I think Koeman is most likely using the Everton job as leverage to consolidate his position, power and transfer kitty at Saints. While Everton has a modicum of size advantage it is very much a root and branch rebuilding job similar to Koeman has done at Saints. That's a very risky proposition even if he's being offered a large amount of money to do it. Hence why i think someone like De Boer who is pretty much in the Koeman(pre Saints) position is much more of a likely option. That's not to say it's completely impossible for him to decide what's being offered by Saints isn't sufficient and go for the nuclear option.
  5. Wijnaldum is definitely the one i like the look of. We definitely need to add a midfielder with more goals in him. Quite like Brady as a player too but not sure we really need him. Equally think we could do with a right side attacking player. Redmond and Townsend have some potential but both have their downsides.
  6. We need a defensive mid to replace Wanyama We need competition for Davis' position. Ideally someone like Wijnaldum who can score goals to act as an alternative. Could do with another winger even if Mane stays, someone like the Ox, Redmond or Townsend to take the place of Juanmi. A first choice right back. Cedric move hasn't worked out as Martina who's a cover fullback has ousted him from the team. Centre backs are covered unless we are going to offload one of Gardos or Yoshida Striker was pretty much covered by arrival of Austin. If Pelle and Mane or Jrod isn't fit leave then we may need someone else Goalkeeper you'd hope Gazzaniga would step up considering the long contract he was awarded. If not i'd pefer someone other than Stek. Maybe a veteran like Rob Green short term if he'd be interested.
  7. I have no particular issues either way keep or sell. He's been a good player for us but he's at an age if he wants to return to italy and we can recoup some of our initial outlay on him it may well suit both parties. We won't be getting anywhere near 10 million for him if he does go though.
  8. Turned out to be a fantastic signing, making up for losing Shaw so young. Should go to the euros, especially as he's shown versatility to cover at centre back too. Sadly i think he's probably going to miss out. Hodgson will go cautious and pick Baines and Rose has got the media attention this season so he'll likely get the nod.
  9. One of those games that shows need of a driving midfielder with a shot on him(wijnaldum maybe). They sat back and we struggled to break them down. In the end it was a mistake by Speroni coming for a ball but clattering into his own player under pressure from long. Still we had to rely on Fraser to keep us in front. Before the goal i was thinking we needed Pelle on for Romeu. As things stand i'd leave it. Hopefully gaps will be there for lon now and we can secure the game with ideally Stoke coming out with a flea in their ear from hughes to equalise.
  10. Interesting reading their forum. There are clearly some deluded individuals who think Mourinho is realistically an option, who also seem to have decided that their new owner will make them the next Man City. Unless i'm missing something that isn't going to happen. Yet there are some sane individuals who whilst proud of their historic success realise there's a long hard slog up the table from where they are now. Personally i doubt Koeman would be interested. It seems different to the situation with Potch where we were being poached by a club higher in the league with a recent history of high placings. With Everton the squad needs serious reworking when you look beyond the 3 young crown jewels they are desperate not to have poached off them, 2 seasons of lower mid table finishes, they've got an old moderately bigger ground, marginally higher current revenue. It just doesn't come across to me as a significantly big step up compared to the risk. Personally i think they should be jumping to secure De Boer, who looks perfect option to try and turn them round.
  11. I actually agree that Tiote is a decent player, who's got rather lost in a very bad club. The fact that he's already 29 would put me off buying him somewhat. As for Lampard, Was a very good player, now rightfully North America retirement land. Not what Saints need.
  12. I've bet on De Boer so i'm hoping it's him. Be disappointed if Ron had any interest. If he does i wouldn't be averse to the notion of De Boer for ourselves.
  13. Shame for him and i think a mistake by them. Saw they lost their last couple of games and thought that might mean the end for him.
  14. Annoying. If van gaal had of acted like bilic and brought on a defender to protect the lead the turnaround might not have happened. On to Chelsea and Stoke then.
  15. Personally hope we avoid Steklenburg. Thought he was very very average. From limited amount i've seen on U21's Gazzaniga has improved. It's time at 24 either to decide if he's considered good enough by coaches to be back up. If not we should go out and buy a young replacement.
  16. Arrogant, past his best, would demand an obscene wage. Runs completely contrary to everything we've done these last few years. So desperately hope this never happens.
  17. Some palace players will be desperate to impress to try and get in team for Final. So don't think we should take result for granted. When Saints got to the final we won our last game of season didn't we, away to City.
  18. Great display by Saints. Rode our luck slightly to get the win but you have to do that away against a good spurs side. Now need to keep our foot on the gas against Palace and hope others drop points. Lovely composure by Davis for the 2nd. Coupled with great workrate, got into great attacking positions today and showed just what an asset he is to Saints . My MOM. Fantastic save by fraser at the death. At fault for the 1st but i'll take a terrific keeper inside his 6 yard box who's got a slight flaw in terms of sweeping. Martina was the weak link 1st half but clearly helped by instruction after that and did better. still think we need to invest in a top drawer right back in the summer though. Glad they took off Son who was causing us all sorts of problems.
  19. If he won't commit to any form of extension then yes i'd argue we'd be better served getting rid of him this summer than have the uncertainty hanging over the club in the summer and beyond. We are not going to get Jose. I hope we avoid Pellegrini. Not overly excited at the prospect of Howe either. I'd be tempted to look abroad again. I don't know if De Boer would be interested.
  20. Yeah this is how I see it. There is likely tension but Whilst the 1st team results are going his way Ron has latitude to get away with his reticence in regards the academy.
  21. Board have done good job thus far, both commercially and in terms of player recruitment and managerial appointment. Where I have doubts its in terms of how ruthless they will be if Koeman refuses to commit to a new contract. Expect us to lose a couple of players so of course there will be a mini meltdown over it.
  22. Excellent performance and puts europa league back on the table. Huge game against Spuds next. Tadic, Long and Mane unplayable at times. Big decision for the board in the summer whether to cash in on Mane or keep hold of him and sell him for less with only one year on his deal. He's such a game changer i'd be tempted to keep him despite the fact it's african nations next year. Thought Martina was the poorest of the starting xi on display. At fault for the first and out of position several times. Still he did play a delicious ball for a goal. Think Cedric may come back in next week though. Jrod needs a good telling off for being utterly selfish during his cameo. The players in red shirts were in his team so pass to them rather than trying to beat the entire city team on his own. Iheancho is a good little prospect and glad Aguero stayed on the bench.
  23. Long, Mane, Tadic all extremely impressive. Davis, Clasie and Vic all very good. I'd take off Clasie not because he's been bad but because he's been booked. Van Dijk is having one of his wobbliest games for us. Goal was extremely frustrating. Martina poor for it. At 2-0 i fancied us. At 2-1 we've given them an avenue back into it.
  24. Hoped Swansea would respond at home after several very sloppy displays. Let's just hope they can keep it up & we can do our part. Annoyed that i left Ayew out of my fantasy side though.
  25. Good news that he is staying imo. In all probability if he'd left they'd be coming after Koeman.
