Someone stable who got us promoted twice and had us doing ok in the prem is somehow not acceptable if saints new board have decided to abandon the previous ambitions! Personally I hope we don't sell our players and move into mediocrity.
-
If they sell off the family silver and poch walks and the plan is to just stay in the prem now rather than try and compete, Adkins return would make the most sense.

Sun is a disgusting paper. I'm assuming its lies unless they have direct quotes from Adam.
-
Gotta hand it to scudamore. Stand back and hand dyke enough rope to hang himself with and then you can come along and be the reasonable hero who is against the destruction of the football and your suggestions will likely slide through.

The current design has grown on me somewhat. The above proposed looks much worse IMO. Still dreaming of rank xerox design.

Jack Stephens to Swindon on loan?
Baird of the land replied to Lallana's Left Peg's topic in The Saints
Hoping he gets chance in 1st team squad next season as he seems to have really impressed the Swindon fan I know. -
Remember United agreed a deal for Hernandez before he went on to play impress at World Cup. I personally want Saints to hold onto Lallana but even if they were to sell, selling now and for the pittance quoted would be nuts.
-
Yeah Jack Cork repeatedly did well on loan in the Championship, yet Chelsea showed no interest in playing him in their 1st team because they had millions they could spend on proven foreign imports. This B league idea will do nothing for getting prem clubs to play their youngsters but will destroy the football league.
-
Laughable. Must be a typo, missing the extra zero on the end.
-
Sky Sports obviously trying to take everyone's minds off the silly FA B league stuff with nonsense speculation. I am waiting for conformation that Man City, Chelsea and Spurs have made the remainder of our squad their priority purchases.
-
The idea that the likes of Chelsea will promote their youngsters to first team if they have a b team when they don't play the players they loan to the championship or even the likes of Lukaku who has had prem experience is bar my. Will just destroy lower leagues.
-
"We have had a lot of interest and enthusiasm from the big Premier League clubs about having B teams in a lower division. Liverpool, the Manchester clubs, Stoke, Tottenham have no problems in talking about it and recognise the problems they have got. They are spending lots of money on youth development but don't have anywhere for these players to play before the first team." ahh Stoke's youth players have been secretly blocked from emerging by the lack of a B team. Hmm smell a rat. Really sad that Dyke's is acting as the agent of these top clubs to destroy the league structure rather than challenging why they won't play the players in their 1st teams. Utter scum
-
Terrible idea that will destroy the football league. The only clubs that will benefit will be the top 4 who will be able to hoover up more and more talent and relocate them to their B teams who'll end up forcing their way into the championship. Won't do any benefit to Saints either, given our model is based on giving academy players opportunities in the 1st team and won't do anything for england team as these players still won't get opportunities in the prem.

Agree completely. Sounds like he is open to staying longer(on the proviso that the club shows ambition and tries to press to break into the cadre above). Hope that next year we will be aiming to emulate Everton and compete in the next band. Key summer coming up as to whether we want to be WBA or an Everton.
-
There can be some very inflated fees. key I think is to try and get the ones who's contracts are running down.
-
Of course he would have been interested in the move, hence why Everton rejected the bids and moved to give him a better contract.
-
Not accepting bids and a fat new contract.
-
He may force his way out. If he does shaw and several others will do likewise though, hence why I want the club to show some ambition. Everton could have clearly cashed in on baines but he was their captain and they knew the signal it would send so they've made sure he stayed put.
-
I was disappointed it all went so wrong for dyer at saints. Though at 26 I don't see it being worth paying a big fee for him. At a lower fee then sure.
-
Think if we let Adam leave, others will demand out. We need to stay firm and reject all bids like Liverpool did with Suarez.
-
I'll be interested to see the transfer policy. I think there are some good domestic options available and think we've swung too much away from it since Jrod purchase but too much of a swing the other way would be equally bad. As for rest I'm less bothered in stripes than most and whilst I like that he comes across well the proof will come in whether he can retain the manager and retain the key personnel rather than rolling over and letting the big boys scratch our stomachs.
-
Just read that Alex McCarthy is one of a number of reading players who have only a year left on their contracts. Hoping saints nip in and buy him before they get their ownership issues sorted.

Joint tie between Shaw and Lallana for me. Losing Shaw so young would hurt. Losing the captain Lallana would be a gut wrenching. I really want us to keep both and have a go at a higher finish & to do so we need both. I like Morgan a lot but cause there's actually already competition in his position his loss would be more bearable if painful.
