Is he still injured? I recall our definition of 'injured and unavailable' was different from Senegal's definition.

We do need a striker but given we have several experienced strikers not playing for us one way or another (Osvaldo, Rodriguez, Long, Gallagher) it's a shame to think we have five strikers and only one can play right now. Not sure there's a point here, just seems crazy that 3 are out injured and the other one is in exile.

Just as well we're out of the cup. Every game was costing us major injuries, Wanyama and now this.

Didn't Les Reed say something sometime about how it was a case of using loans in certain circumstances, depending on the player, the team being loaned to etc. Trying to figure out a way Stephens and Turnbull could still have a future at the club since they've not been with us for a while. Or are they just in the shop window?

As I recall it had something to do with buying Billy Sharp to stop other people having him, then having Danny Fox, Jos, Connolly, Hammond and the bald one who wasn't Chris Marsden all being a bit rubbish but Kelvin having a good game away at Leeds and West Ham bottling it and only making the playoffs. And Steve De Ridder of course. And beating some team 4-0 at the end on the Gabby Logan show. And that Llama bloke too. I don't know really. Seems a long time ago.

That'll cement Harry Reed a run in the team.

But was he paid for the work?

Can he cover for Toby?

Really enjoyed that. Nothing new or earth-shattering in there at all, but thinking that this was being watched by people in the US who are just getting into this soccer thing and the EPL in particular... reflected on us really well I thought. That said, it was on against the Rose Bowl game so I guess we have to hope they all use DVR or whatever NBC have instead of iPlayer. But still, considering there could have been nothing about us at all, it was exceptional to have it on.

Drop JWP after two assists yesterday?

Give the traffic discussion that always ensues with the 'why do people leave before the end' thing, I wonder if the Powers On High think that expanding St Mary's is the long term answer. Or if somewhere on the edge of town might one day make it back on to the agenda.

Ooga. Wanyama-Davis is our defensive midfield. Not sure about that, but what do you do?

I don't really follow football apart from Saints so my prediction may be a little off. 1. Southampton 2. Chelsea 3. Luton Town 4. Anne of Cleves 5. "I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day" - Wizzard 6. Colin Baker 18. Brazil 19. Aloo Gobi 20. Mark Lawrenson

What injury did Callum Chambers have before that pre-season game against Bournemouth?

I think the key thing is that even being a little short of attacking players back in August, Koeman appeared to have no hesitation in letting him go to Hull. So whatever we think of him and whatever he did against Villa, Koeman had a good look at him when he first arrived, including in Premier League situations, and made the decision to allow the loan move. It's possible non-playing factors are also at work (I don't remember what the wage situation is with his loan, or if we even know), but I remember being surprised enough at the loan move that I thought 'well Koeman obviously has no plans for him then'.

We're capable of howlers, to be fair.

Wow, he's going for it.. all four attacking players in the starting lineup. Last time out Cork replaced Davis when injured... this time it's more attack-minded. interesting.

When he does come back in we need a team rule that says he has first dibs at any set-piece, possibly even goal kicks. Seriously though I remember seeing him defer/be overruled by Tadic earlier in the season and there's no reason for that. Tadic has very very good delivery but JWP is exceptional.

But will you stick around when Levy comes along offering more money to switch to Spurs? The fans deserve to know.

All this and J-Rod still to come... enjoy the international break everyone!

Definitely better if it's on NBCSN. As long as we win. Robbie Earle is busy thinking we're the best thing since, well, since Liverpool last season in his view... "they're the team that makes you smile when you think about them" was how he described us last week.

Probably mentally scarred from all those years captaining our reserves.

Yup, NBCSN is showing the Man Utd - Palace game. We're on Live Extra as usual... Schedule at: http://www.nbcsports.com/live-extra-schedule I've always found the online streaming via nbcsports to be first-rate. If your Comcast package includes NBCSports then you should just be able to log in (using Comcast account login) and there it is. Tend to do this rather than watch the LiveExtra channels on the telly.

Car parking better at Aldi than at Saints.

I still don't quite get why he doesn't score goals this season. Did it ok last year, but every time he's through there's a sort of 'oh it's him' moment now. Does everything else very well, very quietly. Presume the above article is agent talk as January is coming. Davis never seems to be linked to anyone. Let's keep him under the radar...
