I've been able to access it since I got my PS3 in December, though it can be flakey at times witch stuff stopping while watching. Seems worse over a weekend. When I installed and loaded it up for the first time it allowed me to put in my existing details and signed me in straight away, as we were existing customers. Have never had a problem with it not loading up. If you can get it working, it is well worth it as the collection of TV and films they have available as a standard package is impressive. It would also be worth contacting them as they are normally pretty good at extending trial periods if you are having problems.

Have done the Big Sur coastline between LA and San Fran twice now, one of the best drives in the world. Better the SF to LA route as you are on the right side of the road for the best views. I would recommend stopping at Santa Cruz for the night, brilliant place. Fun boardwalk, some great restaurants and bars and a general chilled out vibe. Monterrey aquarium is also a must, one of the best in the world and great fun for adults and kids regardless. We found Carmel to be extremely boring with not much to do, but each to their own. Santa Barbara is a good call to stop off as well. L.A. is massive, Santa Monica and Venice Beach are worth a trip out to, but the sheer scale of L.A. is daunting. Whenever we've been, we've rarely managed to get out of West Hollywood and Sunset Strip. Sounds like you've got a lot on your plate already, but if you can manage it, Kings Canyon is also a lovely drive with some stunning scenery. Vegas can also be a bit daunting if you've never been before. We arrived and took a day to aclimatise when we did a road trip through Texas, New Mexico, Arizone, Vegas and California last year. At the weekend Vegas can be quite expensive, we ended up walking the main drag, buying beer from the Pharmacies and liquor stores along the way as bar prices were stupidly high. If you can, make the most of the all you can eat buffets. A lot of them do Champagne buffets at the weekend, we went to one at the Freemont and it was brilliant. £13.99 for all the food you can eat and all the Champagne you could guzzle.....and it was all delicious. Vegas can be difficult to get out of at the weekend....it took us 3 hours to drive from Vegas, south to the next town where we stopped at a Del Tacos (lovely). Don't know if you've driven in the U.S.A before, however if not, it is an absolute ball. Dead easy though you do have to be ruthless as Americans very rarely let you out in traffic. Also, you have to pay at petrol stations before you dispense the petrol. Do as much research on your route as possible before hand on Google and Streetview, especially in the cities. It is invaluable, especially in L.A. to know where you are going. The view going into San Fran over one of the bridges is amazing and something I'll never forget. Finally, if you see any, especially when walking the Vegas strip in the Pharmacies or liquor stores, Mikes Hard Lemonade is very, very tasty. Black Cherry flavour was our favourite.

Persaonlly, I would rather we were relegated at the end of the season than for us to begin a new era of managerial merry-go-round fun again. The one thing that this club needs more than anything is stablilty. A nice stable environment for us to continually bring through our promising youngsters that will be the future of this club. Adkins has brought us through 2 leagues in excellent shape, and while I think he made some errors with the substitutions in the Man Utd game, he deserves more than half a season in the Premier League. I do not think there is anyone out there who could do a better job than our Nigel. We play good, passing, attacking football with a young, exciting team that is clearly being developed for future success. We have brought in some excellent quality into the squad and spent more money in a transfer window than ever before. We've dreamed of being in this position for many years and this is Thanks to Messers Cortese and Adkins (and Liebherr of course). I really do not want anymore of our managers being sacked after a bad run. That was what contributed to us being relegated in the first place with ole droopy face. I want a long period of stability, including relegation. Adkins was and continues to be the right man for the job and we'd be stupid to sack him this season, absolutely stupid.

Instant Coffee - recommended brand?
CylonKing replied to Kingsland Codger's topic in The Muppet Show
I would recommend the Highland Freeze Dried Fairtrade\Fairglobe Instant coffee from Lidl. Really good for an Instant. -
My favoritist retro football game has to be Goal, the unofficial sequel to Kick Off 2, on the Amiga. Brilliant top down football game that combined all the good points from Kick Off 2 and Sensi Soccer. I played it for hours and hours.

What a great thread. My gaming life started with the Amstrad CPC464 and games like Daley Thompsons Decathalon, Hypersports, Chase HQ and Robocop. Matchday 2 also would get a number of outings when friends were round. All my friends had Spectrums though and we would always end up playing Gauntlet, Kickstart and Rock and Roll Wrestling. Also just remembered California Games and World Games (?) on the Amstrad which I played so much. Also Renegade and Target:Renegade. Then moved onto the Amiga 500 after witnessing TV Sports Football. Got that and TV Sports Basketball, which were awesome. Then proceeded to enjoy The Settlers, Sim City, Skid Marks, Kick Off 2, Stealth Fighter, the bulk of the LucasArts adventure games (Indy, Monkey Island, Zakk McKraken), Nitro (great 4 player driving game from Psygnosis) and Panza Kickboxing. For a short while I also had an Amiga CD32 and enjoyed Pirates:Gold on that before swiftly moving onto a PS! after seeing Aliens Trilogy running. So many games on the PS1 but the main highlights had to be LMA Manager and the Resident Evil games. Then onto the familiar path of PS2 and only recently onto the PS3. The PS2 was enjoyed with such gaming greats as Gran Turismo, Pro Evo, Resident Evil 4 and LMA again. On the PS3 I've so far enjoyed the 2 Batman games, Fifa 2012, Battlefield 3, The Walking Dead (my first download game), Heavy Rain (unlike anything I've ever played before), Fallout:New Vegas and currently Dead Space, which is AMAZING.

Yoann Folly was an excellent young player for us. When I saw him play, he looked really good. Always full of running, keen to get the ball. Looked for forward runs. I thought him and Leandre Griffit looked excellent when they played for us and showed great promise.

Have to agree that I think Kelvin should be seen as a legend for Saints. Not the greatest keeper we've had, however has stuck with us through thick and thin and has kept that No. 1 jersey his own. It would be quite astounding that he has been with us down to league 1 and back. He has lived the same life as us fans in that respect and has stuck with us, much like the fans. I personally would like Benali up in the banner as well!

Can vouch for Vietnam, brilliant place, best beach I've been to was at Mui Ne. Beautiful sunsets, nice big waves to just laze around in, kite surfing if you fancy it, lots of good bars and restaurants along the beach....very nice place. I would also recommend Mexico, but not Cancun, it is supposed to be a bit rough (we avoided when there). We went to San Cristobel, Oaxaca, Puebla, Gjaunajuanto, Guajdalajara (you must go to the Wrestling there, great fun), Morelia, Zacatecas and Zihuatenejo, all of which I would recommend, as I would Mexico City itself. Of course, we mainly went for the food and not beaches, though Zihuatenejo is just one big beach, where all you can really do is sit, relax and enjoy a few cocktails and beers on 2 for 1! I would also recommend Croatia - not many sandy beaches though, mainly pebbly ones.

Redknapp says Nigel too young for England
CylonKing replied to Surman4no7shirt's topic in The Saints
Yes Yes, Nigel Adkins is far, far too young to be managing England. He needs to stay with us and mature as a manager over the next decade or 2, maybe then, just maybe he might, might be ready! ;-) -

Easily the best I have seen Saints play! Had an absolute ball and thought we thoroughly deserved the points. We looked so assured in possesion and controlled the game completely. Forest were extremely poor and I have no doubt that they will be going down. Do not think I have seen such a poor side in all my years watching football. They never looked liked scoring, even when they actually got into a goal scoring position. MOM for me was Hammond. Excellent link up and defensive play, however Jos, as everyone has said, was also brilliant. Apologies to everyone near us on Row Y and our screaming, shrill 7 year old niece. Never before has 'Yellows' been shouted so loudly and at such a high pitch. Ears must've been bleeding all around us, though she did illicit a number of smiles. Not bad for her first ever game and she lasted the full 90 minutes without claiming once that she was bored.

There are tons of films worse than all of those listed above. Recently we watched The House of the Devil, and it is attrocious. One of the worst films I've ever seen, especially as the trailer made it look really, really good.

Got a PS3 for my Birthday with Arkham City. First thing I did was rush out and buy Arkham Asylum as I wanted to experience them in order. Have just finished AA and am looking forward to playing AC soon, not just yet. Want to savour it. Did try it out to make sure it worked though and it looked fantastic. Cannot wait to actually play it properly.

Bought my tickets this morning. This is a local match for me seeing as I'm just down the road from the City Ground. Taking my 7 year old niece to this game as well to try and get her supporting Saints in the future. I just hope we beat Forest otherwise the next week in work is going to be excruciating.

Agree completely that the first kick could be seen as self defence, however once the fan is on the ground, the keeper then goes into him, which could be considered assault. I think the referee was in a sticky situation as if he let the keeper play on, it could've been worse as he may have been targettedeven more, yet to send him off also seems harsh (though the 2nd and 3rd kicks are really unnecessary). I think the coach did the right thing getting his team off of the pitch, probably the best thing to do in that situation.

100 Saints, the definitive list..... Thoughts required.
CylonKing replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
Only skimmed the thread however didn't spot Steve Moran on the list. What about Delgado? Surely worth a mention just for the fact that he didn't really play for us. My personal fav of recent years however has to be Ostlund. A great personality in the team and nothing could stop him.....not even Hartsons boot in the face. -
You missed 'a wizard' off of that list!

Who used to struggle to get a ticket at St Marys?
CylonKing replied to Turkish's topic in The Saints
Before I joined the old membership scheme I sometimes struggled to get tickets for Prem matches. Not often, but a couple of times I did struggle. Once in the membership scheme however, no problems at all in getting tickets. -
Yep, against Fulham. Niemi controlled the ball and volleyed it against the crossbar for M. Svensson to score on the follow-up. 92nd minute of injury time (I think?) and got us a draw (2-2?)

As someone has already said.....we are still enjoying the impact of that statue to this day. Whilst it was an obvious failure as a monument to the great man, it has provided one of the all time best laughs on the Saints forums and will continue to do so for many years to come. Didn't Peter Jackson buy it to use as a market square statue in Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit? (I'll get me coat)

I remember the Jimmy Case\Bryan Robson incident clearly (we went on to win on penalities didn't we?) and credit to Robson, he did try and stop the referee showing a card at all as he felt it was a fair tackle.

The only poor decision AP made in my opinion was him taking so long to bring on Waigo and Antonio. If we had seen these earlier (before the pen decision), I think the game might have had a different outcome. I would also have kept Barnard on as he was our most threatening player on the day, though he was clearly losing his rag with the referee. I do not think the players represented themselves or their ability at all on Saturday. I cannot really fault AP for that as he sent out essentially the same players who had scored 10 in 2 beforehand. Maybe he didn't get them motivated enough, though I would still put a lot of this on the players themselves. I think a combination of poor refereeing and not showing our class was the reason for the loss. I don't think Tranmere played particulary well at all and I do not think that AP is to blame at all. He picked the team that we all wanted him to pick, they just did not perform on the day. These things happen and I just hope we turn it on against Leeds and hammer them to make up for it.
-
You could be right, I was going on defensive positions more than actual names. It allowed the Tranmere player a free header back across the goal. Just watched the highlights fro mthe game and I'm even more angry about the penalty decision. Truly absymal decision. Oh well, some you win and some you lose. I'm sure we've had the rub of the green on many occassions this season, so it all balances out in the end......I hope!

Have had time to reflect on what was a poor display from Saints. Didn't think we showed enough quality to win and we were clearly robbed of the draw. It's been mentioned enough already but the ref really was dire. Their goal came about after a poor free kick decision and a slip by Otsemboor (sp.) to allow the Tranmere player to head it back across the goal. Unfortunate really, but then we go up the other end and equalise quickly. From that point on, we rarely showed any quality on the ball at all. Missed a couple of chances in the 2nd half and just as we were beginning to gain some momentum, the ref gives a very dubious penalty. Barnard got nothing from the ref at all throughout the whole game, however I do agree that it looked like Fonte was clearly looking for a penalty when he went down and deserved the yellow. Another poor, poor decision by the ref, which I don't think has been mentioned was the attempted punch\slap by Waigo towards the end of the match. Really should've been sent off in my opinion, however the ref just got the players to shake hands and then carried on with a goal kick. Our best player, I think was Harding, who was defending well and supporting the attacks with some intelligent running. Overall, a very poor performance made all the more galling by the inept referee.
