  1. Parking in Nottingham is notoriously bad and expensive. There is no free parking anywhere. The best bet is to head for the Park and Ride site at Queens Drive (closest to the M1) and get the Citylink 1 bus into the centre. Parking is £4 and covers 6 people to and from the centre. The journey takes about 20 minutes into the centre. The City ground is a brisk 20 minute walk from Old Market Square. The Citylink bus also picks up and drops off at the Railway station, which is about a 10 minute walk to the City ground.
  2. Whilst I will not be taking part, I just wanted to say that I think this is a wonderful idea. It is every fans dream to play for their club, and as most of us will never do that, to play a competitive match in your clubs ground is probably the next best thing. Well done to everyone for organising this and well done to the club for allowing it to happen. I know they are getting money out of it, but they could've said no! I hope the rest of organising goes smoothly and everybody involved enjoys the day to the maximum.
  3. Well, if I'm 1-0 down on LMA manager, I usually revert to 3-4-3 from 4-4-2 and take off a Central Defender. Works for me a lot of the time.
  4. Dam'n, missed the nominations so Carlton Palmer and Terry Hurlock aren't there to vote for. Will just have to go for Le Tiss and Steve Williams.
  5. Wasn't Wotte quoted recently at one of the fan evenings as saying that at home we effectively play 4-3-3 and was backed up by a couple of players attending?
  6. I would also add Liverpool 1 - Saints 2, when Ormerod scored early on and I think Svensson scored the 2nd from a corner. Excellent result at a time when we were a force to be reckoned with under Strachan, if my memory serves me right.
  7. Some excellent points there. I don't give a stuff about Internationals and especially England teams. I find it incredibly funny when England lose to someone and am pleased it has happened. Not because I don't love my country but because I cannot relate to the bunch of 'footballers' representing the nation. Football, like most things in this country are far too expensive. How can it cost almost £100 to get to Bristol from Nottingham return oin the trains, yet only £20 for 2 people to get to Barcelona on a plane. Some areas of society are so far out of sync with reality it is still unbelievable.
  8. I would say: Southampton 4 - Liverpool 1 - 20 Oct 89 Liverpool were still seen as one of the biggest teams in English football and our 4-2-4 formation totally obliterated them. Can't remember who scored but the team consisted of Le Tiss, the Wallace Brothers, Paul Rideout et al. I remember seeing that score and just feeling immense pride in the team. A superb result on a scale the same as beating Man Utd, Chelsea or Arsenal nowadays.
  9. Yes, that's what a real man would do. Or just maybe, he thought he might relish the challenge and do his very best in getting a youth team to play to the best of their abilities. There have been many decisions where I work that I have disagreed with. If I told them to get stuffed each time, I very much doubt I would be in employment at the moment. The way I see it, he is a bigger man for not walking away and still wanting this club, our club, to do well. It is obvious to me that this team and manager care more about this club than many previous incarnations.
  10. Not the same request but something similar, can someone post the lnk for the Prediction League please? I've had a PC rebuild at work and have lost my favourites and the link on the old forum is now long gone. Thanks !!!
