  2. Notts County, Derby County or Nottigham Forest would be ideal for me!
  3. Oh yes, just checked my facts and you are quite correct. Apologies, I got mixed up with all this promotion and relegation shenanigans over the last few years. Hard to keep up with who joined when and in which league.
  4. Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas are 2 of my favorite games ever! Spent 90+ hours on each one. Great fun!
  5. When he first came to Saints (in the Prem) on loan from WBA he was a premier league player and one of our star performers that season, so all this talk that he is not premier league is a bit premature. Personally, I think he could do a pretty decent job in some of our rivals midfields, however for us with JWP, Morgan and Cork all before him, he is unlikely to get a game now. As people have said, he's been brilliant for us over the years as we rose through the league structure, socring some good goals and putting in the type of no nonsense performances we needed at that time. A player that I've been pleased to see play for our club and if he does go, will be remembered fondly.
  6. Loved all of the old LucasArts old adventure games on the Amiga. Indiana Jones, Zak McKrakken, Monkey Island etc. Class games and many an evening (and early hours of the morning) was spent completing those games. The last Monkey Island I played on the PS3 was pretty poor though. Shame, but I have fond memories of LucasArts and the games they produced.
  7. Both for me. The original Cylons are still the best Sci-Fi baddies ever. The original ships (Vipers and Raiders) are immense however the new Galactica is so much better story wise and really dragged you in. I would not like to choose so will have to say both.
  8. I only know as I watched the incident again last week. Must make sure that only true information gets put onto this forum! ;-)
  9. Ostlund is one of my favourite players in all my times supporting Saints (Since 1983\84). Swedish international for many years. 100% committed to the club and gave everything when he played. Remember him dribbling the ball out of defense and went on a run right through the Wolves midfield when we beat them 0-6. Was outstanding in that match. A real character you could get behind (the chants from opposition fans were just hilarious at times - Derby away - "Gypo, Gypo") and much more skillful than he got credit for. Not the best player we've ever had but I appreciated what he did bring to the team. The Hartson incident is on YouTube, Hartson did get a Yellow for the challenge, but was excellent to see a player just get up and carry on with the job at hand.
  10. What CB Fry said. When we look back on this decision, regardless of how the new guy does (even if we win every single trophy out there) it is the way in which we have treated Adkins. He didn't deserve this. He had turned our fortunes round and was building a nice run and getting us up the table. What more could he have done? It feels like the club have stabbed him in the back and that is just not acceptable!
  11. I fuly understand the feelings on the board. I myself am shocked and angry about it. All directed at our chairman and not the new guy. Currently, I cannot see what MP has over our Nigel. All the stuff being said in Spain over MP can also be directed at our Nige as well. This decision is just completely out of the blue and so badly timed. It is only going to hurt us. I hope everyone who goes on Monday shows the chairman just how displeased as a fanbase we are, but still support our team!
  12. Just like the bad old days with our previous managerial merry-go-round. We've all been here before and it will only lead to disaster. Absolute shocking decision by everyone involved at the club. We were moving in the right direction and getting better in every department. Extremely disappointed. I truly believed that Nigel Adkins was the right man for the job at Saints and would be here for many, many successful years to come!
  13. Years and years ago, we got burgled New Years Eve while the whole family were out. They mainly stole jewellery and money as our house was the 2nd that night. The neighbours were first and there house was turned upside down and had loads of stuff nicked, including the grand kids Christmas presents. I have to admit to feeling a bit nervous being in the house, but not that bad really. Maybe as they had only pinched about £60 from my room and nothing else. Since then, the furst thing I've done when moving into any house is fit a burglar alarm if one is not there. The area I now live in, the neighbours all check up on each other so if an alarm goes off, you know someone will pop round and check that all is well. More annoying and upsetting is that one of my old Saints shirts (from 2005 ish) was stolen from my work changing room. It was worth nothing so I couldn't believe that someone would take it. It had sentimental value for me so was quite upsetting. I put up posters around the changing room asking for it back, stating that it was a Southampton shirt and is going to be worth nothing except to me. Never got it back! My girlfriend managed to replace it with a later one for £1 from Ebay. Luckily a seller in the Nottingham area wanted to sell but not pat delivery. Just shows how much it was worth if it could be replaced for £1.
  14. What is Niemi doing these days? Surely he's got another season left in him. He must only be around 55 now, bring him back in, I'm sure HCDAJFU! I would go for Gazza. No real reason, just think he has far more to offer us than the other 2. At least with Kelvin, you know he will do everything in his power to get the win for the club he loves.
  15. That is exactly what he is saying. We have the personnel, we just need to protect our full backs more from midfield. Lallana is not a winger and is not tracking back. Clyne is an exceptional player, however when he has no protection, there is nothing that can be done. We need proper, old school wingers with the stamina to track back, help the full-back out and then get back up the field to attack. Our new Japanese defender, so far, has looked the part. Just a few tweaks to our shape and a bit more thought in our defensive play should sort out our problems.
  16. Doh! £4 more expensive! It's too early for me!
  17. Just to put the cost into perspective: Cheapest League cost (Adult): £30 (Wings\Goal area) Day out at Alton Towers (Adult): £34 So, for 90 minutes of entertainment you have to pay at least £30, whereas a day out at Alton Towers is only £4 cheaper. For me, that is the whole crux of the problem. I rarely make a home game nowadays due to my location and the cost of going to a game. I was looking at going to a game in March\April time however after totalling it all up, it came out at over £300. Much preferred going to see Saints at Barnsley and paying £10 on the gate. That is more like it!
  18. Have to agree. After the awful Back to Earth, hopes were quite low for this however thought it was much better than expected. Some good moments, some childish stuff as well which cheapened it slightly, but overall, worth giving the 2nd episode a go. Good site for Red Dwraf related news and items here: http://www.ganymede.tv/
  19. I've been able to access it since I got my PS3 in December, though it can be flakey at times witch stuff stopping while watching. Seems worse over a weekend. When I installed and loaded it up for the first time it allowed me to put in my existing details and signed me in straight away, as we were existing customers. Have never had a problem with it not loading up. If you can get it working, it is well worth it as the collection of TV and films they have available as a standard package is impressive. It would also be worth contacting them as they are normally pretty good at extending trial periods if you are having problems.
  20. Have done the Big Sur coastline between LA and San Fran twice now, one of the best drives in the world. Better the SF to LA route as you are on the right side of the road for the best views. I would recommend stopping at Santa Cruz for the night, brilliant place. Fun boardwalk, some great restaurants and bars and a general chilled out vibe. Monterrey aquarium is also a must, one of the best in the world and great fun for adults and kids regardless. We found Carmel to be extremely boring with not much to do, but each to their own. Santa Barbara is a good call to stop off as well. L.A. is massive, Santa Monica and Venice Beach are worth a trip out to, but the sheer scale of L.A. is daunting. Whenever we've been, we've rarely managed to get out of West Hollywood and Sunset Strip. Sounds like you've got a lot on your plate already, but if you can manage it, Kings Canyon is also a lovely drive with some stunning scenery. Vegas can also be a bit daunting if you've never been before. We arrived and took a day to aclimatise when we did a road trip through Texas, New Mexico, Arizone, Vegas and California last year. At the weekend Vegas can be quite expensive, we ended up walking the main drag, buying beer from the Pharmacies and liquor stores along the way as bar prices were stupidly high. If you can, make the most of the all you can eat buffets. A lot of them do Champagne buffets at the weekend, we went to one at the Freemont and it was brilliant. £13.99 for all the food you can eat and all the Champagne you could guzzle.....and it was all delicious. Vegas can be difficult to get out of at the weekend....it took us 3 hours to drive from Vegas, south to the next town where we stopped at a Del Tacos (lovely). Don't know if you've driven in the U.S.A before, however if not, it is an absolute ball. Dead easy though you do have to be ruthless as Americans very rarely let you out in traffic. Also, you have to pay at petrol stations before you dispense the petrol. Do as much research on your route as possible before hand on Google and Streetview, especially in the cities. It is invaluable, especially in L.A. to know where you are going. The view going into San Fran over one of the bridges is amazing and something I'll never forget. Finally, if you see any, especially when walking the Vegas strip in the Pharmacies or liquor stores, Mikes Hard Lemonade is very, very tasty. Black Cherry flavour was our favourite.
  21. Persaonlly, I would rather we were relegated at the end of the season than for us to begin a new era of managerial merry-go-round fun again. The one thing that this club needs more than anything is stablilty. A nice stable environment for us to continually bring through our promising youngsters that will be the future of this club. Adkins has brought us through 2 leagues in excellent shape, and while I think he made some errors with the substitutions in the Man Utd game, he deserves more than half a season in the Premier League. I do not think there is anyone out there who could do a better job than our Nigel. We play good, passing, attacking football with a young, exciting team that is clearly being developed for future success. We have brought in some excellent quality into the squad and spent more money in a transfer window than ever before. We've dreamed of being in this position for many years and this is Thanks to Messers Cortese and Adkins (and Liebherr of course). I really do not want anymore of our managers being sacked after a bad run. That was what contributed to us being relegated in the first place with ole droopy face. I want a long period of stability, including relegation. Adkins was and continues to be the right man for the job and we'd be stupid to sack him this season, absolutely stupid.
  22. I would recommend the Highland Freeze Dried Fairtrade\Fairglobe Instant coffee from Lidl. Really good for an Instant.
  23. My favoritist retro football game has to be Goal, the unofficial sequel to Kick Off 2, on the Amiga. Brilliant top down football game that combined all the good points from Kick Off 2 and Sensi Soccer. I played it for hours and hours.
  24. What a great thread. My gaming life started with the Amstrad CPC464 and games like Daley Thompsons Decathalon, Hypersports, Chase HQ and Robocop. Matchday 2 also would get a number of outings when friends were round. All my friends had Spectrums though and we would always end up playing Gauntlet, Kickstart and Rock and Roll Wrestling. Also just remembered California Games and World Games (?) on the Amstrad which I played so much. Also Renegade and Target:Renegade. Then moved onto the Amiga 500 after witnessing TV Sports Football. Got that and TV Sports Basketball, which were awesome. Then proceeded to enjoy The Settlers, Sim City, Skid Marks, Kick Off 2, Stealth Fighter, the bulk of the LucasArts adventure games (Indy, Monkey Island, Zakk McKraken), Nitro (great 4 player driving game from Psygnosis) and Panza Kickboxing. For a short while I also had an Amiga CD32 and enjoyed Pirates:Gold on that before swiftly moving onto a PS! after seeing Aliens Trilogy running. So many games on the PS1 but the main highlights had to be LMA Manager and the Resident Evil games. Then onto the familiar path of PS2 and only recently onto the PS3. The PS2 was enjoyed with such gaming greats as Gran Turismo, Pro Evo, Resident Evil 4 and LMA again. On the PS3 I've so far enjoyed the 2 Batman games, Fifa 2012, Battlefield 3, The Walking Dead (my first download game), Heavy Rain (unlike anything I've ever played before), Fallout:New Vegas and currently Dead Space, which is AMAZING.
  25. Yoann Folly was an excellent young player for us. When I saw him play, he looked really good. Always full of running, keen to get the ball. Looked for forward runs. I thought him and Leandre Griffit looked excellent when they played for us and showed great promise.
