Tall Paul: A striker who can score with his head, left or right foot. No use for him here. Think with the right supply, he could be a very good striker for us. Never given a chance really. I personally would like to see him back in a Saints shirt and given a chance with a team playing to his strengths....which is never going to happen. Feel for Mara, does show some promise and has scored some great goals but then drops off. Very intermittent player, which for a professional is unforgivable really.

Heard there's an up and coming young manager doing a remarkable job at Tranmere Rovers. Worth a look?

Feel it's a little harsh on Forest. They have been charged due to waiting for a better price for one of their players so missed the accounting deadline. The fact that they then got +£10m more for said player a month later, making good business sense, balanced out the loss. Makes no business sense for them to sell at the lowest price. Surely FFP is there to protect these sorts of decisions? Obviously, as they missed the accounting deadline, they are in breach, but I personally do think it's harsh and can see why they waited to sell.

Only just seen this. Gobsmacked in a good way. One of a few genuine Premiership level players we have in the squad signs a new long term contract. Whether it's to shore up and protect an asset, I don't care. I think it is just great news for Saints, the player and the fans. He'll get a great reception today. A real feel good piece of news. Hope he has a blinder today.
