Let's not get too carried away here. But yes the defence is looking very impressive, especially with the depth. Fonte surely deserves a cap for Portugal. He's matured like a fine wine.

My dad took me to my first game there, mid week against Villa. I was 4 and moaned the whole way through till eventually we left just before injury time and Le Tissier blasted in a free kick to win 2-1, remember hearing the stadium erupt as we left. Dad didn't take me back for a while after that!

It would be an utter travesty if he left on a free but I'm confident they'll sort it out. Cork will play for England before the end of the season IMO. A regular starter for me. Offers more than Davis and JWP with quicker forward passing.

Perhaps a stand named after him? Would love a Le Tissier stand too.

Good news. Really have to say well done to the board in terms of representing fans wishes eg. return to stripes, better communication and now a ML tribute which has been mentioned on here before. Very happy with things at Saints at the moment which would not have expected June time.

Window closed now onto the next game. I would bring in Cork and Wanyama for JWP and Davis. Then a debut for Toby in place of Yoshi. 2-0 win and a promising cameo for Mane (presuming he signs!) Upbeat now for the season ahead. Finally have a strong squad and cover in most positions. COYS!

Actually very happy with this window. Depth in all areas of the pitch.

Whilst we are all entitled to moan we must remember that this is virtually a brand new team and we need to allow them to gel and get to know each others games. Then we will start to see more creativity. For the first time ever I am glad we have an international break for players to train together (internationals aside).
