  1. Woah, whats up with the forum tonight. We have massive injury issues and a young squad. This particularly affects us at the back when you have to play gazza, chambers, fox and jos its basically an untested back line, what do people expect against £100m plust worth of talent who are trying to make a point? seriosuly. Threads about players being unfit to wear the shirt, player bashing left right and centre.... did we all turn in to skates this afternoon, we are better than this surely? What happened to the days of going a goal down and immediately cheering on the team? I don't even see this as a concerning run tbh, we matched arsenal, outplayed chelsea for 65min, totally outplayed city for 75min (the only game they have dropped points in recently) and drawn with newcastle away (another top team on form!)... It is a young squad with a lot of injuries... On paper our first 11 is good enough to challenege for europe.... but we this injury crisis combined with playing the top teams in the league was a perfect storm for us.... I'm actually enjoying watching the kids do well... Especially the city game where they came back, showed their metal and actually outplayed the champions in waiting. Chambers looks a great player for me, we all can see shaw is quality, JWP has a good future for sure and now Gallagher looks promising along with reed etc. Plus I always love watching Lallana play and have done since league 1. Rome was not built in a day... we will not win every game, and when we are not how about people get behind the team on here instead of slamming them and the club. We can't build a top squad in 1 full season in the top flight so for the time being, enjoy the climb and enjoy watching the kids develop.... I love watching our british saints (with a hint of foreign quality) strutting their stuff. Something of the babes in the making about them. On a side note, I literally think Lovren is the best CB in the prem at times. Graceful on the ball, good marker, passes well.... does he know how to miss a tackle under pressure? Love watching him play! Who'd have thought we'd have a player like him when we were bottom of league 1 and pardew got sacked! Get a grip people, we weren't going to win the league this season! Stop acting like our second string should beat spurs with a point to prove! Chrsit!
  2. For starting this thread, you sir.... are scum. Fox and Jos have come up with this club from the championship, winning us promotion and playing vital roles in getting us back into the prem (not least Jos scoring against west ham!)... They then gave there all last season when we were having a tough time, and this year they are ready to make the effort when called upon.... Fox in fact did a great run and pass to set up lallana. They may not be good enough for where we want to be.... but to come up with crap like "they are not fit to wear the shirt".... christ. You literally disgust me. As for Gazza, he is young and learning.... Nice to know that we are slamming twenty year old keepers for giving their best for the team. He was against a side that cost in excess of £100m today, he has less than 20 top flight games and 1 season of league 2 football... But he is deemed to be "unfit to wear the shirt".... you are an utter disgrace.
  3. Will enjoy revisiting this one on 31st January
  4. It would not mean more scope for expansion because standing seats are worth jack all to the club. They would have at least the same income from the standing areas as they would from seated area that was there before it. All you may achieve is to get a few thousand more in the ground... eating into what an expansion could deliver. So far less likely to get an expansion.
  5. I know what you mean, but thinking about it, I also think it is his? He kicks it first, and then defenders foot carries it over the line (i.e. deflection of on target shot). Either way, it was so messy that it doesn't really matter. The point is, the ref + lino had no way of seeing it, but hawakeye told them, no fuss, in about a second. Its fantastic. Just like that, there will never be a discussion over whether it was a goal, ever again! Problem solved. Now make it work for offsides and we are pretty much there, bar diving.
  6. There have been numerous decisions that don't need to be made because of the tech. Also last night Lampard's Chelsea goal was given because of hawkeye in the league cup. It seems madness that we never used it before. So simple, and completely removes any contentious decision making regarding goals. Hopefully it will get brought in for offside next.
  7. Barnes wasn't it? Against Liverpool. This is the worst kick I have seen for sure. That or Boruc's attempts vs the Arse this season.

  9. Their net spend is tiny, and he has the highest ever points value for a Tottenham manager in the premier league.... Is that due to bale instead of his managerial skills? If it is then you could argue that they were unable to adequately replace him and levy made a massive **** up. If its not due to bale, then he clearly has the goods as a manager to get that record level of points, therefore he has been unjustly sacked. Either way i think is brilliant. I dislike Tottenham recently, all their success for the last 2 years has been built on the back of our academy, and we were not in a position to resist due to our financial troubles. Glad the wheels are coming off the bus for them, one less team in our way.
  10. Dont cry for us Nigel Adkins, The truth is cortese stabbed you, All through your good days, Won no Silverware, He showed you the door, We'll miss you evermore
  11. First time in stats history that spurs haven't had a shot on target at home, personaly think you should put your saints defenders in your fantasy football team. Spurs are crushed, paulinho sent off. 3 points coming our way on the weekend.
  12. agreed
  13. I live in bristol and have a season ticket and get to away games when I can, the last being arsenal. I don't benefit from supporter way deals or coach travel packages etc, and I pay a lot more to get to a game than most. So when I can't make I watch it online. I agree there are a lot of armchair posters who don't appear to even watch the games before flaming on here. but on the whole it seems to be due to away fans not selling out and hospitality packages being poor and not selling. Either way, streaming is here to stay. A better way to tackle the coming issue is to make all games pay to view and reduce ticket prices. because ATM, a guy in Thailand can watch every single saints game etc, but we have to pay a lot of money and effort to make an atmosphere for them to watch... yet we can't watch it ourselves? seem fair to you? when the fans realise this it will force a change IMHO
  14. thanks for posting. as I have said before... the new forest and general countryside is a selling point that London clubs don't have and I honestly think it has a lot to do with the well grounded team we have and the youth players we produce. it won't be for everyone, but who cares about everyone
  15. He walks right past me and my dad about halfway up, asked him if he needed a hand once... "I'm alright I am".... think he's a bit of legend to be honest. God knows how old he is, but to be still coming to see saints play every single home game is some achievement when it takes you minutes to walk to the back of the stand! God knows what he makes of the chap who spends every game shouting and swearing at the ref, or our defenders, who ever he feels he can get the nearby crowds consesus on. There is one set of pillocks in chapel that have wound me up actually. Last season they were split up by around 5m on two rows, and they would come and try to stand in front of me and my old man (essentially in our seats) at half time to talk to their mates in the row in front - regardless of the fact that we were sat/stood there. They would also leave early on occasions, walk along to the end of the row, saints would attack, they would stop and sure enough, stand right in front of us to talk to their mates. To clarify... we have the two end isle seats, as did their mates. So they had no need to stand in front of us. One more step an they were on the steps! Absolute pie cans. Suffice to say, they don't do it any more
  16. Few ! I thought I had annoyed even more saints fans than usual!!
  17. All in all, not my best day in the stands, sorry if I annoyed you
  18. Good point Alps, i haven't considered what it means for squad depth, still chuffed with watching our u21's beating the most expensive team in england. Personally that game should end the cork vs wanayama thread.... Cork is clearly the better player and as ward prowse showed countless times vs toure, strength is not everything! To consider if we didnt play him and actually sell him to a rival is an option, its just madness!!
  19. Good result, shame we couldn't get the three points but with our injuries beggars can't be choosers. Would have stomached a defeat if it allows blooding the kiddies... But to get a draw and get them some more experience is good. Great future! Osvaldo bashing to take a back seat for a bit?
  20. Its unfortunate that no one in Rowe's postion is injured. Likewise Sinclair. They are the 2 most exciting prospects for me. If they don't get promoted they should move on to a championship team where they can get some first team football. Both are quality wingers... which sadly we don't seem to use or need.
  21. Talk about selective injuries. Did clyne also run into a post. What about all the other various ins and outs we've had in recent weeks or early substitutions to combat fatigue. There is no smoke without fire and if you over work the body you pick up niggles.
  22. The thing is, I said this was coming 2 weeks ago. And duncan RG just ripped into me as a bed wetter. How long can you do double training sessions and play the same 13players week in week out with this intensive style of play and not get injuries. To compound this, the utter lack of squad rotation means players like cork and yoshida, who were regulars last season, now have had no game time, and are making mistakes. I described this as MoPo's biggest weakness, he had the same issues at espanyol regarding fatigue and player fitness... Its also interesting because we had comparitely very good runs with injuries under Adkins... eg. Morgan who was essentially uninjured for 2.5 years... I like the way we're playing and the clubs philosphy, and i like MoPo.. I think he is a good manager who makes good tactical decisions to affect games as well. However, a not insiginifant part of me wonders what Nigel Adkins would have achieved with this squad, and we certainly wouldnt have had these injuries with him in charge. I accept that it is unlikely we would have landed osvaldo... but Lovren was signed by NC and the comittee, as was wanyama. The "gash" as so many people have named him, would also be getting more game time, and Lambert would be doing better...
  23. Pretty damn simple, I don't want to read what certain posters type... yet we are all forced to see it when other people quote them... Everyone's lives would be much simpler if we just could not see these posts, they couldn't be quoted to those that have them on ignore, and basically, we don't get to see that they have even posted. That would be bliss.
  24. Eurosaint thanks for the laugh buddy, needed that as a cheer me up after the wave of negativity on this forum after being unlucky against villa. I'd like to pick out the highlight in a sea of bullsh:t ! We did lose to Sunderland ! :mcinnes: I think you'll also find that Arsenal hit the post twice before they scored Don't know if you follow the games or not? But doubting it tbh. I think you'll also find that there was a thread about us being in a title race on this forum - so that wasn't BS either. And also, we do have issues with our overall fitness/injuries developing.... which part of what I wrote was bull****? Because literally what you wrote was just wrong In addition, thanks for the insightful comments discussing the teams issues. moron. Eurosaint thanks for the laugh buddy, needed that as a cheer me up after the wave of negativity on this forum after being unlucky against villa.
