  1. Did he or she say you said it mattered?
  2. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/oct/21/luke-shaw-manchester-united Apparently, it's harder to play good football when you play for Man U.
  3. http://www.chichester.co.uk/sport/pompey-latest/kelly-praises-pompey-training-ground-debut-1-6362818 "A Pompey team yesterday played on a training ground they own, located within their city." Shurely shome mishtake
  4. Almost :-) It's a highly decorative tin pot
  5. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/youngsters-sample-new-pompey-training-ground-1-6359205 ‘The Academy lads are stepping in as guinea pigs, if you like, checking the pitches are fine and the showers work and hopefully it will be the next step to us having a home. ‘Looking at it now, the pitches are up to standard, the catering facilities are finished, the changing rooms are done, the groundsman’s equipment store is on its way to being completed and they are working hard to finish the fencing. ‘Work is still going on with the buildings, so it could be a month or so before everything is finished. ‘In the meantime, this is a chance for us to see everything functioning, trying out the facilities to discover whether they are working from that side.´
  6. In the wake of the Kevin Pietersen saga, Andy Awford gives us as his considered opinion that dressing room harmony is vital. As a player, Awford experienced the nebulous "dressing room unrest" but declines to name names. As a manager, he feels it best to let the players deal with any disputes themselves and only to step in when they cannot do so. Fortunately, he can completely honestly say "that there is nothing wrong at the moment. I can honestly say there is no problem to deal with." So, after their 4th league draw on the trot, a sequence in which they've managed just two goals, with growing unrest on the terraces and with their only quality (if somewhat decrepit) striker and former coach permanently ostracized from the squad (but still pulling down a healthy salary), Awford is confident, indeed certain, that there is no squad unrest, no problem, in fact, at all. Indeed, there is soooo not a problem that Factless Junior has written an entire article about the complete absence of any sort of problem in the pompey dressing room. I for one am reassured that The News' gallant defenders of the truth are there to dig out stories like this and tell us what's really going on behind the scenes.
  7. Barefaced lies
  8. I'd rather have a player in my squad who throws a hissy fit when he's not picked than one who doesn't - you want players who care about being in the first team rather than ones who are happy to get paid to do nothing. Boruc is a good keeper and I can see a decent club offering him a spot in their first team. Good luck to him.
  9. http://www.portsmouthfc.co.uk/news/article/fanfunders-mansfield-report-2014510.aspx? They really should get someone to proof these things...
  10. I was looking forward to a third successive goaless draw in the league, but now Mansfield have scored...

  12. When's a dive not a dive? When it's a tented elephant ballooning from the 10 meter board and displacing enough water to fill refloat the Victory? Well, yes, there's that, but if you're a fish fiddling cheat it's also throwing yourself to the ground in the penalty area when brushed by a passing sleeve. 'With the penalty decision, Ricky played for it and that is what players do – we teach our 14, 15, 16 year-old kids to do that.' ‘That is not diving – and he hasn’t dived – but you wait for contact and if there is contact over you go. That is the game.' ‘Ricky has done it brilliantly, great play from him for that part of it, but in my opinion the referee has got that wrong.' http://www.chichester.co.uk/sport/pompey-latest/awford-blasts-refereeing-mistakes-1-6344405
  13. Best birthday present ever
  14. You may well think that, but have you ever asked yourself why you spend your weekend traveling some distance and paying a lot of money to hurl abuse at someone you've never met?

  22. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/apr/18/portsmouth-care-community-club-pompey "We had a loan of £1.45m from the city council, which we paid off in two months, and a loan of £1.2m from our property-development partner, Stuart Robinson, which we agreed to pay off within a year and that's on schedule. We're ahead of schedule on the football creditor debts. The final parachute payment, which runs out this summer, has helped us to do that..." So are these debts paid, or are they Pompey paid / unpaid?
