My Norwegian isn't great but this is my translation of the above which comes from Norwegian newspaper Aftenposten: SOUTHAMPTON/MOLDE: On Wednesday, Vegard Forren will complete the final details of his medical. He's also almost finished negotiating his contract but has agreed with the club to wait until Thursday or Friday to finalise it. This may be because Southampton want to focus on a tough league game against Chelsea in London. For this reason, some of the necessary paperwork hasn't found its way from St Mary's to the Aker stadium and vice versa. According to local paper Romsdals Budstikke, no unforseen problems have cropped up to complicate negotiations. Several independent sources confirm that there's every reason to think that he transfer will go through. I think this as about as certain as you can be that a transfer will go through before it's confirmed. Interestingly, I also noticed that Norwegian media were linking him with a move to Man U. in December.

I think they must have found some new source of funding. I can't believe they'd be allowed to use parachute payments to fund a Fratton Park purchase.

My God I have a twin.

Isn't it about time we started thinking of Pompey as beneath us as well?
-
I thought Chinny had withdrawn his bid, thus making the PST the only game in town.
-
I'd love to see us finish above West Ham, and I don't see why we shouldn't. I can't see them getting relegated though.

I think this is him:

There's still some desperate spin in there. Apparently the fan's bid is "getting stronger by the day." Back in the real world, the HNWIs on whose capital the bid is based are still ****ing what's left of their hard-earned into the wind. This, however: "When we take control, life will continue to be difficult because you can't put all this damage right overnight," is a tacit admission that, actually, they're completely flat broke.
-
Indeed, I think the word you want is sick-making.
-
Maybe, but do we really want to be outbidding Liverpool for players?

Aston Villa are poor - much worse than us. I fully expect us to whip their sorry @rses.

From the depths of the gloom engulfing Fortress Fratton a gleam of hope shone. Its reflection glistened on the fat in the pipes - illuminating the expectant red-cheeked faces of the fearless few and filling their hearts with new hope. Surely now Pompey could actually win a game? But, with over-awed Preston reduced to 3 one-legged men and the game entering its 95th minute, the noble hero/hopeless donkey (delete as appropriate) smashed his shot against the crossbar condemning the bottom-dwelling Skates to their fate on the Solent floor and mixing yet another metaphor. The fins are only too willing to swim away to another club in January, the lungs (Do Skates have these? Ed.) determined not to accept a demise, yet the victim remains rooted to the spot. A penalty spot; the penalty so unjustly imposed on the fans of the noble and faultless club. How could they do it? Don't they know Tiny Tim is hungry? This goal would have seen the club liberated and Portpin and their loyal supporters routed. The revolution complete with the people finally seizing control after a long and bloody battle amid ever-ugly scenes. A case of Les Miserables rising to topple the monarchy. Instead the dastardly foreign villain and his evil Jewish henchmen still expect to get their money back. Don't they know it's Christmas? *1000 Scummah points to the Nutjob who can pick out Neil Allen's copy without checking.

'A torch shone amid the Fratton Park smog which continues to engulf relentlessly all in its path.' What is that guy on?

It's nothing to do with the Internet, just common decency. Adults really shouldn't need reminding about things like this.
-
We could just ignore him...

That was tasteless and unfunny.

Sounds like they want to flog Hooper for as much as they can get... link to Telegraph story

This from a Press Association article: 'A high court judge placed Portsmouth into administration 10 months ago after being told that the club had an unpaid tax bill of around £2m and owed other creditors about the same amount.' Is it just me, or is that complete ******?
-
You may well be right but, I think the number of pledges would have a bearing - the PST made a big deal about the fact that they needed people to make their 1000 pound donation prior to the court case, it is after all the PST which will be buying the thing in order to run the club.
-
I think this strongly suggests that the problem is that there simply aren't anything like enough pledges in place to make the PST bid a goer.
-
Zil, I'd say.
