  1. Let's not turn this into another big club debate. Thank you Clyne for the past three years when we never had to worry about the RB spot whenever he was fit. Won't wish him well since he's no longer our player. So.. Liverpool have now signed a third of our starting line up two seasons ago. Who's next? Unfortunately for them, Boruc chose bmouth!
  2. Koeman said he tried to bring Depay to Southampton following his arrival at the Premier League club last summer, but he questioned the reported £25 million fee United paid to take the 21-year-old from PSV Eindhoven to Old Trafford. Nonetheless, Koeman did try to sign Depay last year and indicated that he would have been keen to sign him this summer had United not made their move. "My brother Erwin has the same agent, so we tried to bring him to Southampton, but he wanted to stay for one more year at PSV," he said. "When United went in for him, we knew at Saints that we had no chance. When they come, we have no chance." "I see another lack of quality with the Dutch kids that I have also noticed with other young stars in the Premier League," Koeman added. "They don't communicate. They behave like individuals. Stuck to their smartphones." http://www.espnfc.com/barclays-premier-league/story/2499909/manchester-united-paid-a-lot-for-memphis-depay-koeman Sounds like we did try for Depay but were simply financially outmuscled by United. RK sounds like he hasn't really resolved his bad blood with LVG
  3. This fella looks good, sign him up!
  4. http://www.espnfc.com/story/2485668/nathaniel-clyne-back-on-manchester-united-radar-sources 'Manchester United are ready to rekindle their interest in Southampton right-back Nathaniel Clyne after seeing Dani Alves stay at Barcelona, sources have told ESPN FC.'

    Loanees

Don't think their respective clubs would be too keen on allowing them back here on loan again. Get the feeling their clubs want rid on perm transfers or at least on loan to a club with more interest in making it permanent. Fwiw, I wouldn't mind djuricic at half his reported 10m value
  6. Walcott!
  7. Toby's loan move was such a shrewd one by the club, it gives me confidence for future transfer windows. We get a brilliant player for one whole season and then have the option to pay a ridiculously low amount to acquire him or get PAID for a player we don't even own. For me, the best move of that transfer window made by the club.
  8. Stoke 6-1 lol Well, at least we know who to root for in the cup final. Knowing our luck, villa would nick it. Sigh
  9. stoke 2 hahahhaha
  10. I thought Pelle's goal against Villa over the weekend was pretty good. The 1-2 between Mane and Djuricic (who back-heeled the return,no less) before a sweet cross from Mane and Pelle finishing off the move. But I guess it's not really goal of the season worthy, those seem to mostly comprise of long range efforts.
  11. Mane is one heck of a player
  12. Between Austin and Ings, I would prefer going for the former. Looks like we got one over Liverpool on the transfer front again?
  13. Pelle with no shots at all for the entire 90 mins sums the game up for us. Clyne distracted. Wanyama, often a brick wall, easily shrugged off the ball numerous times. S.Davis on a downward slide all season. Gazza has not improved at all after more than a year in the U21s. NO positives at all from this. Koeman didn't look pleased at all throughout the game and rightly so.
  14. Looks like Spurs have managed to be more sh!t than us today
  15. my oh my oh my. I thought we would do just fine when we lost Forster but boy have we suffered. Can't imagine not having him for the first half of next season. I'm guessing we are nowhere near being the best defence anymore?
  16. Why would you want to be lumbered with a 33 year old on high wages?? Coquelin + 5m sounds better
  17. If we weren't still in with a shout for 5th place, I would have quite like to see Gazza thrown in for the last few games just to see how much he has progressed since his early days. As it is, it is too much to risk, but I dare say he is on par with Davis at the moment?
  18. So far, all suggestions seem to be domestic. I'm actually hoping the 'black box' pulls some unknown (or relatively lesser known) keeper from a foreign league. After all, it's a position where you don't really have to get used to the pace and physicality of the game.
  19. Les Reed mentioned that we would be looking to loan a keeper next season to fill in while Forster is out. Who would you have in mind? Would you look to loan from a fellow PL club or look abroad? Can't say I know much about the keepers playing in the foreign leagues, much less one who is second choice and available for loan. Personally I would not mind Szczesney as he seems to have fallen out of favor after his disciplinary problems. Yes, he was poor against us, but he has looked good in previous seasons, plus we can't really expect much from a loan keeper. Also, he represents a more realistic option as opposed to, say, Cech from Chelsea. What do you think? Heres a list of keepers in the PL for reference: https://fantasyfootball.telegraph.co.uk/premierleague/players/goalkeepers
  20. My dream scenario for a perfect end to the campaign: Saints to finish above Tottenham and Liverpool Villa to win the FA cup (ensuring a trophy less season for the defectors) Liverpool to finish 7th (denying the super ambitious Lovren and Lallana of European football, oh the irony)
  21. Cahill over Fonte? Coutinho over Fabregas??
  22. http://www.espnfc.com/blog/espn-fc-united/68/post/2410525/memphis-depay-psv-exit-sad-football-reality-rory-smith read and weep guys, lets just accept our place in the hierarchy
  23. LOL the most useful information to come out of this thread and then there was this thread: http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?53972-Multiple-User-Amnesty#.VTjVKpSUftk
