  1. 1. Pelle 2. Pelle 3. Schneiderlin 4. Davis 5. Ramirez 6. Reed ps if Davis keeps getting nominated as unsung hero, does he still qualify as unsung? lol
  2. Was there a stream for the previous friendly and will there be a stream tonight?
  3. the replies on this thread show that the board can't win at all with some fans. even if we went out to buy messi, they will be moaning that we bought a player who just had a poor World Cup showing.
  4. give the guy a break. granted he has not been the most effective but his conduct has been exemplary all these while. even when he found himself down the pecking order, he never moaned about wanting to move back to Italy. you can see the guy is trying his best, and he has the talent, it's just a pity he is so injury prone. cut him some slack, and if you feel that deep need to scapegoat a player (as is always the case with saints fans) osvaldo's your man.
  5. would imagine relations would be frosty between him and the rest of the squad. hope the preseason tour will be one hell of a team bonding exercise with osvaldo yet to join in as well (if he even plans on turning up)
  6. Having two new players already in (presumably to replace lambert and lallana), how many more do we expect to sign? With both our signings just about paid for by lallana's transfer, we still have the money from shaw's move, which I'm hoping will cover for a new first choice LB and preferably one more quality signing in the front attacking 3 (as cover for jrod). As of now, I'm confident of Schneiderlin staying (going by koeman's press conference), Lovren is still a maybe and should he go, it should be relatively straightforward using his transfer fee to get in a new CB. Do people believe that we still have money to spend outside of our incoming transfer fees? If so, I feel the remaining transfer budget should go to improving the depth of the squad (i.e GK, CB). Anyone has more ambitious plans?
  7. Well, after a quiet spell during the World Cup, the inevitable has happened. Our kids have gone on to further their careers at the top clubs. I have been preparing myself all this while for their exits yet I still feel extremely gutted whenever I see the latest 'X to have medical' thread being stickied. I think the main reason (for disappointment) is not because I had this delusional idea that we could have gone on to win the champions league had we not sold our players but more of the fact that deep down, I've always had this secret hope that our kids would stick together and gone on to win a trophy (even the league cup would be fantastic) If they had done so, the pride and satisfaction in that would have been immense. Granted, we now have XX millions to spend and could possibly built a better team. But for me, the feeling would not have been as satisfying with all the foreign names as opposed to a team of academy graduates. Am I stupid for thinking this way? As Saints fans, should we just accept the reality that we will never have a team of academy graduates playing together for 5-7 years? Anyway, we wouldn't want to stand in the way of our kids joining the bigger clubs who are guaranteed to further develop them for the greater cause of the England team
  8. I don't understand reports like this. it's almost like they're doing us a favor by giving us business. if that Serb is as good, younger and at a price they favor then go ahead and sign him up then. no need for courtesies, we will keep our player. thank you very much. it's not like we're desperate to sell him
  9. it's all nice to read but would Hernandez even want to play for us in the first place
  10. may I know who are the best two, and can we snap them up?
  11. @bigadamsport: >>> he wants chance to play Champs League football like anyone would & is ambitious, which he's stated previously & he feels #saintsfc >> @bigadamsport: >>> could/should be more sympathetic toward his stated aim to go to #lfc after years of loyal service to #saintsfc & believes he's >>> @bigadamsport: >>> not been dealt with correctly by those above him, given his loyalty over the years to #saintsfc - so if any move does not happen & >> if that is true then its poor form from the captain. the board's priority is to the club and not the player, why should the club be sympathetic to the player if liverpool does not want to stump up the money. modern day football eh, depressing. maybe clattenburg was right all along. "You are very different now, since you've played for England"
  12. don't really have a choice do we? no clubs want him at our price. at the time, he was shifted in a bid to maintain our strong squad bond and harmony. but I highly doubt there will be any semblance of squad unity left after most of our key players leave. i have a nasty feeling, with the board's performance of late, he'll be our starting forward next season. the club will probably be 'content' with SG, jayrod and him as our only available strikers, and focus more on replacing adz and shaw. i have learnt to lower my expectations after the turn of events this week.
  13. Q: What can a new manager expect to find at the club with bids in for some of your star players and in terms of transfer funds? A: First of all it’s very clear that we are in control. We are in control of all the player transfers. All the top players are under long term contracts. Any transfers that take place will be under our terms. We will decide the terms to potential transfers in and out of the club. We will involve the manager. That is important for everybody to know. That’s why we have been able to not agree to any transfers to date, because we have control of the situation, and anybody who is saying anything else doesn’t understand that we are in a strong position with the Saints. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/11242017._We_re_aiming_for_Europe____full_interview_with_Saints_chairman_Ralph_Krueger/
  14. 4m is a ****ing joke. even 9m is NOT a good deal at all for us because we are going to have to spend double of that to replace srl!! i know its the trend now not to begrudge him the move, its his boyhood club etc, etc. but don't forget who we are supporting here, we are supporting southampton fc! and this deal is not in any way 'good' for us. not now, we need to stand firm and at least delay the ****ing deals until the new manager comes in ffs. letting our club legend go like this after the statement from the chairman yesterday might just be the thing that opens the floodgates. i would feel sorry for srl but unfortunately sometimes life is not fair, we need to think for the club now and not get sentimental. i'm on the fence about the board but if this does go through this week, i don't think i'll be too quick to believe any statements made by the board in future
  15. appreciate what he has done, won't boo him but rather we let our actions do the talking by smashing them home and away.
  16. so.... this is how NA felt when he got the sack. we were always due a bit of bad karma for the way we handled that episode
  17. the saddest thing is he's leaving a club, where fans want him to stay, to a club where fans don't want him there. oh well.. how many more hours left of that 48 hours timeline?
  18. let's upstage poch's shiny new contract and high profile job at spurs by announcing FdB before them! more likely to get someone like curbishley though.... :/
  19. lol so... has he left yet?
  20. don't know if this has been mentioned before but saw this at red cafe: (sorry, have no idea how to embed tweets on this forum) basically, skybet have suspended all bets on shaw as they seem to know of an 'agreement in principle'. did not want to comment when pressed on the club he has this agreement with. bull****? or is the transfer imminent? maybe the agreement is with saints to stay on even. who knows
  21. Mark Schwarzer as back up to boruc? he looked reliable stepping in for Cech also, anyone knows what the deal is with Diego Lugano? Uruguay's captain but released by west brom? haven't seen much of him play this season
  22. so.... whats with the silence from both sides? not much have been heard from either clubs ever since. have a feeling this will drag on till after the world cup?
