  1. i see finland are up 1-0, looking for a stream too
  2. agree with the op. there has been a recent trend where the big clubs have been stockpiling on talent to prevent other big clubs from getting them and end up having to farm them out on loan because they find themselves with a bloated and unhappy squad. one blatant example is Chelsea, with their embarrassing amount of talented attacking midfielders swooping in at the last minute for Willian to prevent spurs getting him. However, do not forget that there is a negative side to this in that the clubs who loan in players to be key members of their squad end up having to patch up the huge holes left behind by these players when they eventually return to their parent clubs. I would much prefer spending on permanent transfers and build up a team that can work together for years to come which is why I was left bewildered when a certain member on here was moaning about how he would rather have Barry and lukaku on loan than wanyama and osvaldo permanently. it might be a successful short term solution but what about in the long term?
  3. pleased for the lad for getting his dream move. However, agree with many saying that the fee paid was way above his value, he's going to have tons of expectations placed on him, I'm not sure if he'll be a success over there. but still best of luck to him
  4. lol weirdest match reaction thread hands down, even weirder than the one still debating if free kicks are dead ball situations! a defeat really drives us insane eh
  5. i dont agree with those who bash him for the sake of it (barry etc.) but really, how much time do we have to give him? he has his occasional touch of class but too inconsistent. today's game was what we brought him in for, to provide that bit of magic to unlock an evenly matched game but yet there he was misplacing passes and looking lost. worse still was the fact that he replaced lallana who looked most likely to get a goal for us. i, like many others, am hoping he will come good soon but how long do we have to wait? such a frustrating player to watch...
  6. frustrating afternoon, team just didnt seem to get going and looked lethargic for some reason. chambers had an absolute torrid time against redmond today, we need clyne coming back soon. central midfield was rubbish when it seemed to be a position we were so settled with the cork-morgan partnership. definitely need to think twice about that fulham bid. gaston was ineffective again and just never really proved his price tag after a year. lambert seems to have lost that sparkle from his magical week. overall just poor from the team and uninspiring. only positives were boruc (solid goalkeeping other than the redmond goal) and lallana (shocked that he was the player to come off for gaston having been the only player who looked like getting a goal for us)
  7. Marina Bay Sands is latest 'hot' place to stay at because of its infinity pool overlooking the city. But if you have kids, why not stay in the Resorts World Sentosa. Lots of family friendly hotels like the Hard Rock with big family suites and many attractions to visit nearby like Universal Studios and the new aquarium. A bit of a hassle to travel to the central area, where the shopping (if thats your thing) is at, though.
  8. iirc, that was chaplow
  9. watching the city game today, city had players on the posts when they let in two easy corners from cardiff... players on posts (or lack of them) weren't the problem, the marking was.
  10. did not see the incident that led to oshea's bloody nose, what happened?
  11. think SRL was as guilty of missing as many chances as jrod, so many headers straight at the keeper
  12. bloody good delivery of the ball and like shaw looks matured beyond his years. pretty telling that poch subbed Morgan and not him at half time. hope wanyama teaches him a thing or two on beefing up
  13. thank you for that, does sound less absurd after reading that.
  14. what exactly does an official university partner do?
  15. 1. sell him for 30mil 2. buy Baines for 20mil 3. ?????? 4. profit (+ targett as back up) honestly though, if we do get a formal offer of maybe 20mil, it would be a good rest of our ambitions. mind you if the club does accept shaw will go, none of this waiting for Chelsea rubbish
  16. decent player in the premier league and probably wants first team football which is something we can't offer him with lallana, jayrod and Ramirez all ahead of him. if we're being selfish then of course would rather have him on the bench as back up but club probably respects his wishes and looking to allow him to find regular first team football elsewhere. I'm fine with the loan deal as long as he doesn't get to play against us as I'm absolutely sure he would score against us as do most other ex players
  17. mods need to move this thread to the arsenal forums
  18. never seen a group of players so disinterested on their very first game of the season. sissoko was strolling on the pitch as aguero ran past him to score the second. think only krul came out of that with any credit. pardew needs to wake them up before they find themselves in a similar position as last year.

  20. can we really have another signing!? are we man city in disguise?
  21. I've always believed in your itk-ness ): fantastic transfer window, strengthened through the spine of the team and all top top class signings. broken our transfer record 4 times in two seasons? very excited for our future!
  22. time might be up for Wenger. arsenal fans have always been behind his back but feel they are finally done with him. chorus of boos after the game on the opening day. and that after losing out to wb for the Gustavo signing.
  23. isn't it wonderful to have rickie taking our penalties, no worries at all and as good as a goal already! felt that it was a soft penalty though but made up for our, in my opinion, wrongly disallowed goal in the first half. good all round performance from the team, we had control of the game throughout and it was only a matter of being able to find that breakthrough to turn a point into 3. still feel we lacked the incisiveness in the final third to turn our possession into goals. individually, wanyama and lovren both had very good debuts giving us that added defensive steel at the back. chambers at right back looked solid as well, nothing spectacular but definitely able to cut it in the premier league. up front jay rod and lambert did not have the best of games I felt, especially rickie who was very quiet in the second half except for the penalty. shaw looks like he has improved a level and is now adding marauding runs down the left flank to his game (next bale?) similarly jwp adds so much to our set pieces with his accurate deliveries. rest of the team were okay but felt abit sorry for cork though. anyway one more striker in and we will have such a complete team! bring on Sunderland!
  24. lol really? I thought our set pieces looked better than last season with jwp taking them!
  25. f.ucking unbelievable!!! a true fairytale
