  1. My word. We saw some pretty ropey Saints displays during our brief downturn but nothing that compares to some of that.
  2. "Blimey, does your club still exist? I haven't seen any reference to you in the news for years and never see you in the league tables. How far down do I need to look?"
  3. Next time any Skate tries to talk to me about our rivalry I'll just feign ignorance as to who Portsmouth are and talk back about our rivalry with Brighton and Bournemouth. Thankfully it's pretty rare that I ever get to meet any now though. They seem much harder to find these days, don't they?
  4. Someone down that way needs to watch their back: " The trouble is we cant keep harping on about our past glories. Its like Nero fiddling while Rome burns. Rome was once a mighty empire. But Football is about the the here and the now. I dont go to Fratton to reminisce about our FA Cup victory. I want to go and see a well run club (fail) play decent football (fail) and dream about success(fail), I know this is going to be painful but can you see us being in the same position as the scummers in a couple of years time cos I cant. My beloved club is a shambles and the sooner we wake up and do something about it the better. We cannot rely on delusional idiots like the "Trust" to save us."
  5. Don't know why you bothered Andy. All that information has been published by the Trust as part of their commitment to total transparency.
  6. "I suspect in the circumstances he may be able to come to some agreement with them to shave some off." These circumstances being what is entirely normal on Portsmouth, presumably.
  7. Look at you lot, boasting about being on gas
  8. They've just got to that point where they are simply laughable. Poor guys.
  9. One of my favourite parts of this thread http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?14620-Pompey-Takeover-Saga&p=1149541#post1149541 http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?14620-Pompey-Takeover-Saga&p=1149769#post1149769 I don't want to blow my cover on PoL, otherwise.....
  10. Play the post, not the (wo)man, eh?
  11. Anyone have a setup for AJS that is currently working?
  12. Which is odd, given the textbook way in which the crime scene was handled by. Oh, hang on, it's not.... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-494203/Madeleine-How-police-ruined-forensic-evidence-bedroom.html

  14. Given that the McCann's are both the parents of the missing girl and the people closest to her and who probably know most aabout the events of the evening, it's not strange at all for the police to remain in close contact with them. It'd be strange if they didn't. Basic troubleshooting/problem solving. Start with the most likely solution and work from there. In the absence of clear evidence of a murder, ie a body, blood-splattered walls, a newly relaid patio, it makes perfect sense to work down the abduction route initially.
  15. Mate, it's got no pedals.
  16. In reality, how many "free" tickets is it that they're going to have to give out? How many were sold, over and above ST holders? Probably not many, so it's a decent bit of cheap PR. Edit - cheap positive PR that, to be fair, our club could do a bit more of.
  17. Interesting and unusual use of the term 'royalties' too. Do Tesco get 'a share of the royalties' when they sell a tin of baked beans?
  18. To be fair to the world's bestest investigate journalist, he did say that of all the clubs their potential sponsors are speaking to, they are the most advanced with a digital agenda etc etc. Given that those sponsors are the landlord of the Dog & Duck, Ted the locksmith and local garden centre and the 'other clubs' are Sunday league sides he's probably right.
  19. When you're ****, Guy, all games are difficult.
  20. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/catlin-carson-not-returning-to-bury-1-5583634 Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. So if a new manager is appointed and wants to recall Carson, the chairman won't allow it? Wouldn't that be a great start to their working relationship?
  21. I'm loath to question the News, but do UEFA's financial fair play regulations actually cover League Two clubs?
  22. It's the Football League's competiton - the clue is in the title
  23. Superb. In the process of forcing through a deal that leaves them forever locked into that tiny dump of a ground they're going to shaft the local business community. Stay classy, Skates.
