Like a pub team. Same as us. Worst two premier league teams on one pitch at the same time. The board are asleep at the wheel and hoping three times are worse than us is where we are. Shambles.

3. It’s on Saturday with a 3pm kick off
-
This time last year after 9 matches we had 12 points so a win on Saturday is fairly important, and even then 9 points from 10 matches is hardly inspiring. Big performance needed on Saturday.

Sam Gallagher taken off, not really able to make an impact on the game.
-
Three of the corners were less than half full and there were empty seats all over. Regardless, those who stayed away made a great decision. Football is sh!t, and wonder if they’ll put the ticket prices up next year?

I bet there are staff who don’t like the way the club is run but there are enough people at or near the top that make it impossible for anything to be done about it. Time for all the board and senior management team to take a look at themselves, decide if they are worthy of our football club instead of congratulating themselves.

Ralph will have been convinced by Les that the players are incredible and Ralph will not be able to understand why they’re not performing. Hughes has a mountain to climb and he’s not good enough to get a team to perform who’ve not done it since Koeman left. The rest of the board are clueless. From what I have heard they are all convinced they are brilliant but actually quite crap and out of their depth when it comes down to it. That is why we fail and why we could go down.
-
Guess come the end of the season Ralph will still be happy at our average league position of 14.3 since they took over the reigns. If we do not sleepwalk into relegation that is. Not a surprising score line given how much we’ve dropped down in expectation since Ronald Koeman left.

Somebody could make a Cold War Steve style Saints photo

Do you think anyone at the club is clever enough to have a basic grasp of supply and demand when it comes to product pricing? Clearly this all smacks of desperation so maybe time to make tickets cheaper if you want a full stadium each match, which is clearly needed as it helps players, sponsor perception, tv broadcast deals, good thing to do when people are hard pressed for spare cash to attend etc.

“Youth players” and the “Southampton way”

My fave bit of Les’ comments at the fans forum about the academy was they are now developing different types of players to the ones the club used to. Funny because the rest of the board will believe what he says and take it as gospel, not so funny because we used to develop good players, now not so much. Of the players out on loan it’s hard to see how they will really break in to the first team and establish themselves. They just aren’t really good enough for the Premier League or they would have all done so by now. -
We desperately need some resilience. As soon as we concede the confidence just seems to drop and teams score quickly against us. 1 point from 9 against opposition that will compete for 7-12th doesn’t bode terribly well
-
Leitch is spot on, I think Ralph and Les have probably surrounded themselves with yes people so they seem surprised/incredulous at any criticism and also Ralph has probably been more involved in the selling of the club than he let’s on and it’s a truly sh!te deal for the football club, which he now knows.

Looking forward to the Germans showing us how fans can contribute to a great atmosphere -
A much improved second half, maybe the first half was exactly what we needed to get it out on the table for Hughes and the players. Still a week and a half to go of ore-season, and a win is better than a loss any day of the week.
-
Ah that’s better then. But Charlie Austin banging the goals in this year and Armstrong with one now. COYR
-
Don’t worry people, we lost 0-3 to Augsburg this time last year so the result is no indication on what the season ahead will be like.

I’ve heard plenty of local artists played at matches. Band of Skulls, Delays, Sean McGowan, Mongo, Alan Fitzpatrick, Craig David, Jona Lewie have all been played at least once I’m sure

Frank Turner is a Hampshire boy...who went to Eton. Perfect for modern football!
