  1. He is, I think, a quality player. I don't know for certain because despite having a season ticket i've only seen the quality in very small measures. I can't help thinking if he buckled down, found a bit of passion, and more than anything worked hard, he is Premiership class. But he won't.
  2. Not a league game, but Portsmyth in '84 (28th January) was a huge turn out. 10k on the open terrace and god knows how many in the Home end. 3 of my mates had tickets in the portsmyth north terrace and 2 watched the game there and one managed to convince the OB that he was a SAints fan and got escorted across.
  3. Most be true then.
  4. Oh!!! Thats were i've been going wrong:rolleyes:
  5. Sounds very emotive, having ones "head stamped on". But you only have the Daily Echos sensationalist reporters word for that. And as far as i know, nobody died, or were left permanently injured, and from what i can gather the sides were numerically pretty even at the start. What would you say if a group of Saints went into a Yeovil pub and gave it the large one to every one, and then after numerous warnings to shut up and clear off, they took a kicking?
  6. Listening to all the my fellow Saints fans bleat on about some tosser who got what he was asking for, ought to make me re-consider my loyalties. But it doesn't; i still love you all. Even the Daily Mail reading big girls blouses amongst you.
  7. No just go up to him and tell him he's a fat ****. No? Unless you were there you don't know the 'facts' either you mong. For what it's worth i heard these so called 'yeovil fans' were a very long way from being innocent and simply came off a lot worse. Thankfully it was the 'fat ****' they came up against rather than you or yours.
  8. The Sun is a low brow, fascist, bigoted waste of ink and paper, read by low brow bigoted, fascist wasters of oxygen.
  9. Cheers Ron, but you're clearly a couple of years out.
  10. Wow look at my thread go. Nearly 3 weeks and over 300 posts later and it's still up there. Pity 99% of responses had nothing to do with the original question. At least thankfully that question is no longer relevant.
  11. Thats a very fair point. As a season ticket holder i got a good deal, but the match day price is too high. As for Saturday i predict a crowd of 20,123.
  12. Well said Hamster I couldn't agree more.
  13. The most impressive thing about today was us cruising at 0-2 and then conceding a goal but not, as would have happened over the last couple of seasons, then crumbling. The next step is not conceding.
  14. Quite right. Things are looking up but starting off on minus 10 and still finishing in the top 6 is a big big ask. Has any team been promoted after starting their season with minus 10?
  15. Something that we have done in the last three games.
  16. A lot of the pressure of previous home games has been removed now, so we good be looking for a fourth straight league win. I'm looking forward to it in a way i never imagined was possible to look forward to seeing Saints play MK in the third division.

    Skates

On the positive side for Portsmyth they did managed to sell out their toilet of a ground for the first time this season. I don't know who they have got next at home but I expect normal service will resume with the club giving away 3,000 tickets to school kids and still be a few thousand short of full capacity.

    Pardew OUT

Sounded like we could have scored 5 today. But i'll settle for 1-3
  19. If the city council hadn't saved his ass after Lowe ****ed up Stoneham by adding shops and cinemas etc, which were never allowed in the outline planning permission, we would still be at the Dell today. Thankfully attendances are up, despite dropping down a division, now the buffoon has gone.
  20. People have to stop quoting SMS as an example of some good Lowe did. SMS was built in spite of Lowe no because of Lowe. Remember his efforts and wasted millions on Stoneham?
  21. Oldham 0 - Saints 127. 6 years of pain exorcised in one go.
  22. It will be a sad end to an era if it goes. I buy it every week religiously, but i suppose not many others do. I still have my copy from 1.5.76.
  23. Always difficult to get a true idea of the game from the Radio, but it did sound like we were well organised and didn't panic when pegged back.
  24. It let me put MLT on all 10 positions.
  25. So rather than trying their hardest to close the Itchen North, they should be re-opening blocks 1-3, and that would create a fantastic atmospere, and better support, which would help towards better results which in turn would lead us back quicker into the Premiership where we would once again have full houses and no part of the ground would be closed. Simples.
