The United Kingdom and the Death of Boris Johnson as we know it.

The Committee that vets appointments to the House of Lords normally rejects about 1 in 10 of the nominees. They rejected 8 of the 15 proposed by Boris. -

Some of the armour is reported to have been hit by KA-52 attack helicopters using missiles with a 12Km range. This is far beyond the range of Gepard or portable anti-air weapons and that the recent spate of long range missile attacks on Ukrainian cities has pinned their longer range AA systems back to protect population centres, meaning the KA-52's cannot be easily countered.

So the Eurozone hits a negative 0.1% whilst the UK struggles to just sbout hit a positive 0.1%, and is the worst performing economy in the G7. Hardly something to crow about.

Just got in from the Lancashire double header T20 matches in Blackpool. I am not sure why the scheduling leaves over 3 hours between the end of the women's match and the start of the men's. Just want a Hants win now for 3 out of 3.

The COVID enquiry says it wants ALL messages between Boris and his advisors and Ministers from the start of the pandemic. Boris says this is fine, but unfortunately the Cabinet Office is in possession of them, so he asks the CO to return them. However, the CO say they cannot return his messages to him until they have sorted through and redacted them so that the enquiry only gets what the CO determine to be what the enquiry wants to see. The enquiry KC threatens the Government and CO with contempt, so they have now applied to the Courts for a ruling on the scope of the enquiry - which they initiated and set out the rules and scope of. On top of this, Boris says some of the early messages are on a phone that he has been told by the CO, ( responsible for Government IT security ), he cannot turn on because it is a security risk. IT security experts say this is nonsense and there are many ways to access the phone without risk. Sir Humphrey Appleby is alive and well. -
No, 3 days to take Kyiv. After all, the Ukrainians ARE losing, aren't they ?

"If we can't have it we'll make sure you can't either". Perhaps they are resigned to having to go back to at best the pre-SMO borders and want to cripple as much of Ukraine and it's post war economy in a fit of spite. Collectively the Russian nation act like a petulant 5 year-old.

I am not sure that many blame all perceived economic woes on Brexit, but a similar number to those who do will swear blind that Brexit has had no negative effect whatsoever. The reality is that Brexit will have had, and will continue to have, a downward influence of the UK economy, if only because we have voluntarily imposed restrictions on trade with our biggest market and as yet have failed to find an alternative of sufficient volume and value, and there does not currently seem to be such an option in the short or medium term.

They are going for the full house. Not much left short of a nuke. Most of the area that will flood is on the left bank, which is still occupied and has been heavily fortified by the Russians. Edit: reporters in Kherson covering the evacuation from the rising river levels are now saying that the Russians are shelling the evacuation routes.

Further to the spat between Wagner and 72nd Brigade, the Freedom of Russia Legion, ( Russians fighting alongside the Ukrainian army ), have apparently offered a prisoner swap with Wagner in exchange for the captured Brigade commander. Russians fighting Russians in Russia offering to exchange Russian prisoners with other Russians, who may or may not also be fighting Russians.

220 Storm Shadows shot down, 60 Challenger 2 destroyed, 20 F-16s eliminated............. What I find irritating with the BBC reporting of the Russian side, is the "BBC has been unable to verify...." ; Of course you haven't, they are simply making shit up.

Trump expands his "I can stop the war in 24 hours" bullshit on FOX News..... “I will get them into a room, and I know an exact way. You tell one ‘you’re not going to get anything unless you make a deal.’ You tell the other one ‘they’re going to get a lot unless you make a deal.’ Guess which "one" in Putin and which is Zelensky.

( This is currently our 7 year old grandson's favourite joke )...…. Little Billy's teacher asks him why his maths answer says "10+10=11+11" Billy answers "10 plus 10 equals 20, and 11 plus 11 equals 20 too".

You are conflating 2 issues; Post-Brexit checks on certain foodstuffs imported from the EU are anticipated to drive those prices up, whilst tariff free lamb and beef from Australia and New Zealand will undercut UK producers of those 2 specific product lines. We are not importing Australian cheese, nor Italian or Slovenian lamb.
-
As before, contact the NFU and ask them, it is their quotes I am posting.
-
Take it up with the National Farmers Union, which does not think the deals with Australia and New Zealand hold any benefit for UK farmers: "We continue to maintain that a tariff free trade deal with Australia will jeopardise our own farming industry and will cause the demise of many, many beef and sheep farms throughout the UK."
-
-
Mosin said that there are no issues with the Aussie trade deal, UK farmers just need to keep their costs down.
