  1. I think the ref has allowed the location to modify his opinion of what comprises fair play. Still, happy with the state of the match so far.
  2. Why do you always jump on everybody else's opinions ? Just occasionally keep your fingers off the keyboard and people might have a more amiable view of you. I feel that all matches in a particular round should be played to the same rules.
  3. Bloody ridiculous that if an FA Cup third round tie is at a Premier League ground then VAR will be in use. Would it not be fairer for all ties to be without until the point later in the competition when they will have it available for all matches.
  4. Jack Butland, oh deary deary me 🙂
  5. Mack should be able to identify him, he's got to be related.
  6. Looks a bit like him but why would he be out at about in a stand at the opoosite side of the ground from the changing rooms during his side's innings, and moving behind the bowler whilst his team mate was batting ?
  7. Blue shirt, skate logo, "University of Skatesmouth" emblazoned across the front. Not sure about it being Lyon though. https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/football/portsmouth-fc/howzat-portsmouth-shirt-wearing-supporter-temporarily-stops-play-in-englands-fourth-ashes-test-against-australia-3519911

    Coronavirus

But the EU are unable to organise a vaccination program, Brexiteers told us that having left we were in a much better position - "World Beating" in fact.
  9. Teething troubles, it's not as if they have had the last 5 years to get things sorted. As long as it works in fifty years time when we get to find out if there are actually any financial benefits from Brexit.
  10. Ignorant skate bastard walking up and down the steps in the batsman's eyeline as Jimmy Anderson runs in to bowl.
  11. The system impoirters are meant to be using is called IPAFFS, which is almost completely unusable because it "sends error messages stating that declarations cannot be submitted without food safety certificates or details of the border control posts where goods will be physically checked. Importers will not have these details because food safety certificates and physical checks are not required until July and several border control posts have not been built yet." Users are consequently advised to switch to PEACHES instead, and are then faced not just with a system that only works with IE, it doesn't even work with the latest ( last ) version of IE, ( IE11 - in deprecated support until June ), you somehow have to find an earlier ( unsupported ) version to get full functionality. The alternative to all that non-functional IT is to revert to paper and manual records. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/business/brexit-food-imports-government-b1984912.html
  12. I think De Bruyne, Jesus, Walker, Silva, Ake, etc just about count as regular first team starters 😉
  13. 8 players aged 20 or under for City, most of whom are listed in a first team squad for the first time.
  14. 21 cases of covid in the city squad and staff, including Pep.

    Coronavirus

"Retail liquor and cannabis shops in Canada's Quebec province will require shoppers to show proof of vaccination amid a rising surge of new Covid cases." https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-59915459
  16. "Australia has cancelled the visa of Czech tennis player Renata Voracova, who had entered the country to play in the Australian Open. " https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-australia-59910838
  17. I have no idea, but JRM's point seems to be primarily about being denied entry if not vaccinated. I don't see protests from people over Yelow Fever.
  18. Several NFL players have tried to get around the sport's covid protocols with faked vaccination certificates, perhaps the Australians think Djokovic is doing the same.
  19. If you want to enter Australia from a country with endemic Yellow Fever you need to show a valid vaccination certificate for that. Is that another sign of an oppressive regime ?
  20. Terry Pratchett summing up my view of monarchies in general; "Royalty was like dandelions. No matter how many heads you chopped off, the roots were still there underground, waiting to spring up again. It seemed to be a chronic disease. It was as if even the most intelligent person had this little blank spot in their heads where someone had written: "Kings. What a good idea." Whoever had created humanity had left in a major design flaw. It was its tendency to bend at the knees." "Royalty pollutes people’s minds, boy. honest men start bowing and bobbing just because someone’s granddad was a bigger murdering bastard than theirs was."
  21. You could start an argument in an empty room.
  22. It's the spurious "suitably experienced" U23s that muddies the waters where teams have not been using the junior members of their squads even as names on the subs bench. Better the EFL rule, any 13+1 from the combined first team and reserves without qualification.
  23. I assume both teams get nothing from the game and get 48 points added to their points conceded.
