  1. Nobody forces you. πŸ˜‰ There is a local road to me that leads up towards the Trough of Bowland, and goes through Abbeystead, a classic single road village - in one side and out the other. The only issue is that it sits in a valley, and each way is 20%. The road I went up on Friday is little more than a tarmac'd farm track, so doesn't even qualify for signs.
  2. See what happens when you bring Bale on.
  3. David Icke just called, he wants his material back.
  4. if they did it was perfunctory.
  5. If it had been Adams in front of Zouma would we be having this discussion ?
  6. Long sleeves would probably do !
  7. They tried to explain on MOTD a couple of weeks ago that the definition of where the 'arm' starts had slipped down from the shoulder; If you imagine a short sleeved T-shirt, if the ball hits the sleeve then it's not handball, I think that's how Gary Lineker described it ( Notwithstanding Big Team Bias - I also thought there was a fair chance of offside in the build up to their 3rd ).
  8. In the Saints Fans group. I only rarely post rides though, yesterday's went on as I wanted to check the gradients I struggled up :-(.
  9. Pity we had to go 2 down to start playing. After that we were the better side.
  10. That stuff you are smoking is proving seriously detrimental to your health.
  11. The man is still a buffoon.
  12. Went for a ride today up some climbs I hadn't done before. Got home and found that the steepest climb is a STRAVA segment called the Death Wall ! Mind you, part of the descent was a straight road nearly 1.5Km long, downhill all the way πŸ™‚
  13. That'll upset Wes.
  14. "There is no plan for no deal, because we’re going to get a great deal." - Boris Johnson "We have four years more or less between now and date of next election. We can easily conclude a new settlement with EU in that period." - Michael Gove "If you think about it, the free trade agreement that we will have to come to with the European Union should be one of the easiest in human history.” - Liam Fox "It will be easy to negotiate a trade deal, and of course, it's in the European Union's interest, just as it is in ours." - Paul Nuttall (UKIP) 'trade relations with the EU could be sorted out "in an afternoon over a cup of coffee"' - Gerard Batten (UKIP) "I think we could very easily get a better trade deal than we have at the moment." - Douglas Carswell "All the problems that you traditionally have with a trade negotiation aren't there." - Matthew Elliott (Vote Leave Ch. Exec)
  15. So much for the easiest trade deal in history. 🀩
  16. And what, pray, is the "British mood" ? Yours is certainly not mine. Do you really think that most leave voters want 'no deal' ? As they are almost all employed elsewhere, would they concede on fisheries if it meant maintaining their own jobs and income ? As you are well aware, fishing is a minute part of the overall economy. Edit: regarding the "British mood", how many businesses have come out supporting no-deal ? How many have advised against it ?
  17. The French are digging in over fisheries because they suspect that the UK Govt will back down on that to land more favourable agreements on more valuable areas of the economy. ( And they are probably correct in that assessment ).

( Or political advisors ) Yay! WSS has seen the light. πŸ™‚
  19. "....solemnly call on the negotiators on both sides of the Channel ...." "We call on the leaders of both sides to stay committed to the Withdrawal Agreement and the Political Declaration, ". So, calling on BOTH sides to stop being intransigent. Not quite as Guido is reporting it, nor as you are reading it.

Are you inferring a Northern stereotype ?
  21. Have they done a similar piece on, as you term him, the buffoon. As you said in your earlier post, what a choice !
  22. He might well have, but Fox went out of their way to paint him in a specific light.

The Government invited the Warrington MP to join the video conference about restrictions in Merseyside, despite Warrington not being in Merseyside. They also failed to invite Lisa Nandy, MP for Wigan, to the conference for Greater Manchester - Wigan is in GM. https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/government-fumbled-tier-listings-last-night_uk_5f856b1ec5b6e6d033a76cd8 Their grasp of the geography of the North West is nearly as poor as their grasp on reality.
