  1. Incredible. Saints were and are extremely lucky to have been saved by Markus. Not a chance we would be anywhere near where we are now without him.
  2. Maybe his new song to the tune of 'f*ck off pompey' "Come on Dusan, You can nothing"
  3. So you agree, Saints can't force a sale.
  4. That's the crux of my point. Lfc was saying Saints could force a sale, I'm saying they can't. His contract protects him.
  5. Fair enough, but I disagree with your interpretation of what he's saying. "At the same time, Southampton would sell him at the drop of a hat if they got a good price for him, regardless of how happy or settled he and his family were at Southampton." Sounds like he's saying Saints could sell a player regardless of how happy or settled he is, but if you think he means Saints can make a player's position untenable then I guess we'll have to agree to differ. Presumably there is time to engineer this untenable situation while the hat is dropping.
  6. Very good news, looks like an exciting player. Maybe hear about Pelle completing his move soon if this deal was causing delays
  7. He's suggesting the club can sell a player against his will. Contracts go two ways and each party owes the other a duty. In this case, Saints owe Lovren employment. If he doesn't want to go he doesn't have to, no matter how much Saints want him to. AKA the Tommy Forecast technique. The bit about houses seems utterly unrelated. He's using an analogy where the builder can undertake two jobs at once. This is fine if he has a company and continues both jobs. Lovren is one man. He can't work for Saints and liverhampton. Unless he is suggesting the builder can drop the work on your house and continue the more lucrative contract. If he is, it's another misunderstanding of contracts.
  8. I'll phrase this as respectfully as I can but...you don't really understand contract law do you?
  9. Twenty past 9 and still not confirmed. Sky = falling
  10. that Le Tiss fella seems a sensible chap. Is he currently with a club?
  11. A bit blunt to say the least. Obviously believes the propaganda he's been fed about Liverpool fanbase as well.
  12. In terms of whether to try and sign players, the board/manager decide if they are quality. In terms of leaving or not, Morgan decides if they are quality. In terms of deciding on whether Morgan was lying or not, we decide if they are quality.
  13. Sounds familiar. Odd to be on the other side. Still don't agree with player tactics.
  14. I think I may have misunderstood
  15. Think he might be fed up with them, the yolks were getting pretty oeuful
  16. Steven Davis or Fonte for me, preference is for Fonte as he is more likely to be on the pitch at the start of the game! Both dependable, professional and seemingly respected at the club. I would consider Morgan or Lovren, but I'm not convinced either will be here. That alone tells me they maybe wouldn't make for a good captain.
  17. I agree with this entirely. So long as the board are happy to reinvest the funds, he must feel like a kid in a candy store. Only issues are how much he will actually get and whether we are a club to attract exciting players. I'm feeling cautiously positive on both points.
  18. care to provide quote / link?
  19. This is pretty much what I thought. Are you staying? Are you coming to Liverpool? Have you considered posing nude professionally? Don't imagine many other questions will be on the tips of tongues.
  20. Lovren has tweeted that he will be answering questions on twitter, "Coming soon". Brave man, any questions from those who aren't twitts?
  21. Starting point noted. We can compare at the start of the season. I'm as disappointed as most that we have to rebuild to such an extent but I wouldn't write off our ability to do so before we even try.
  22. They could, but what would be the benefit? Whatever the club do, they will be losing the player. They have the choice of losing him at market value by selling him, losing him for nothing after he sits out his contract or losing him at whatever a tribunal award them for breach of contract by the player (much less than market value). The only real choice the club has is to sell the player. Once again, money is the cause of the issue. Of course the player's image may be affected, but if they are threatening to strike they evidently don't care too much about their image.
  23. With the situation as it is, keeping a team spirit is all the more important. If anything I would be less happy to see him back in the team now than when he was sent on loan. Mixing Osvaldo back into the team could cause major issues. I don't think he was ever happy to be playing for Saints. Even if he was wanting to play now it's a case of more harm than good for me. Sell if we can, loan if we can't.
  24. goal in the next 5 minutes in the Germany v Algeria game...three times I've got a tenner on Columbia to win the world cup as well
