Mane clearly been taking lessons from Pelle. 'Dont look just pass the ball first time and hope"

Well from what I am seeing I don't think we are playing that badly, we had wrong formation in the midfield which has been addressed eary and we lost composure towards the end of the half with our passing, Bournemouth are well up for it as expected and giving everything but really their best chance was from a well taken set piece, a stunning save but unlucky rebound onto their player, they scored by luck of the deflection off the save. I don't think we are out of this by any stretch just need geeing up at halftime and for our forwards to calm down and link up better, we had solid control of the game up to the break against Fonte for the free kick. This is like a cup game as far as fixtures go and closest Bournemouth have to a derby, it will be annoying to not get three points but certainly not doom and gloom its the nature of a fixture like this.

Good game so far, both teams playing nice football.

#InTheBox: Fraser Forster and James Ward-Prowse
Mallagroth replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Both of them very good -
In light of Yoshida's kind monster quotes: What's that stopping all of the goals is it a monster, no it's a Forster (Repeat) To the tune of the Automatics 'Monster' ('what's that coming over the hill...')

Apparently it happens all over the world and no one knows for definite what causes it, possibly tectonics or atmospheric interference, this is what it was like for those interested: http://metro.co.uk/2015/05/17/what-are-these-strange-unexplained-noises-from-the-sky-5201249/

Anyone else hear the weird noises in the sky last night above Woolston, like a loud mechanical whining that was several different notes. Was like something out of a sci-fi movie. Noticed it about 5am when it woke me up, then it stopped and started again 15 minutes later. Was really eerie. I would have thought it was a train if I hadn't heard an actual train during it that was much quieter.

That's a tad harsh, arguably his claim to fame is being instrumental in the growth of Southampton FC from a lower league team to a European one. The successful capture of international managers of recognition, steadying a rocking boat when the chairman up and left and then the successful negotiation of large funds for want away players whilst maintaining the clubs improving league position. I think whether you personally like the man or not, credit where it's due. He may not be a good manager but he's proved himself to be one of the best directors of football in the country (...possibly world?)

We played the crowd well, solid, but second half they will come out fired up and we will have to hit them on the counter.
-
playing very defensively, which i think plays into their hands.
-
giving them a bit too much respect at the moment, really letting them dictate the pace...
-
i think the fact that Townsend has not put in a transfer request, kicked off, got legal assistance, or earned his way back in says more than enough about him and/or his representatives to stick well clear.

My cloakroom/WC analysis for what it's worth; Haven't felt truly positive and excited about Saints momentum at any point this season until now. Felt we haven't done anything about our stagnant form from the end of last season and suspect certain player attitudes have played a part. I suspect one too many players thought they were 'stars' and already better than Saints after half a good season. As the truth is beginning to show in the form of these individuals, we have addressed key weaknesses by giving chances to our newer players with the right attitude, they themselves have begun to find their feet and cut more predominant figures on the pitch. I think that Austin will complement Longs attitude and work rate for example and both have high confidence going into this with something to prove to external sources. JWP, Romeu and Clasie are feeling more important to the team and Vic realises he's going to have to put in some decent displays to ensure his move and regular place. Mane will also need to prove to himself that he can still do it, as his confidence is clearly very low, he will be desperate to not lose his place to the new boy. Defense with Bertie in is looking good, Targett playing in front, makes him free to be more aggressive with attacks on the wing and both can put a tackle in. Cedric and Martina are now in a battle for Right back. Only player on the pitch who doesn't have to look over his shoulder for competition is Steven Davis, but he works his nuts off 80% of the time anyway and for that reason his goal return is excusable when everyone else is firing. So with the addition of Austin and his desire to get back amongst it in the prem, I think we are in the right place to replicate our performance against Arsenal at will. Man Utd haven't been great all season, and are no better than last. Got a feeling we can really get at them, when no one, including Man Utd team is expecting much from us. Van Gaal's talk of the title suggests he thinks 3pts is a done deal. So on the basis of this complacency, our improved spirit, our trashing of arsenal, our recent goal scoring form without Austin factored, and Man Utd definitely being ****ter than Arsenal and more open at the back... ...i'm going to go for an unlikely/ridiculous 0-3+ Old Trafford win to Saints... Van Gaal sacked by Monday afternoon... ...Unless Yoshida starts in which case reverse the score and scrap everything I said (it may be advisable to do that anyway)

Puncheons thumb against nose waggling fingers/naughty child celebration i always liked and of course his bum wiping celebration by the corner flag should go down in history.
-
i used to think our supporters were quite good at witty chants and had a decent sense of humour. The fact that one of our most sung chants this season is... 'your ****in ****' is disappointing but continues the downward trend as the part time Spurs lite supporters join the ranks.

bit of excitement we desperately need to lift spirits. Can't knock signing a known English striker with a consistent goalscoring record. And at 4M injuries or not it's a bargain. You normally buy average championship support strikers for that sort of price.
-
4M is an utter bargain and worth the gamble should there be any truth at all to the dodgy ligament rumours/libel. Based on prices being paid for strikers these last two seasons he'd only need to score 4 for us in a season to get the value return.

Ross Wilson appointed as Director of Scouting & Recruitment
Mallagroth replied to Ulrich van Gobbel's topic in The Saints
Not been on here for a while but i don't get the Clasie hate, he played some excellent attacking through passes today, I think he may have been at fault for one or two stray passes in dangerous areas but Wanyamas been doing that for 4 out of the last 5 games and it has also cost us big time. I think people forget that it took Schneiderlin years and several leagues to find his quality and form. I think we have an excellent player on our hands but he will need time. Juanmi on the other hand I feel needs to be loaned out to get his confidence and find his feet in this country because positionally he rules himself out of games from the minute he comes on, and his desperation to do something on the rare occasion he gets the ball is showing. -
This game was all about the first half for us, we couldn't get the chances to go in and then the quick turnaround of games meant it was always on a plate for West Ham. IM surprised we didnt make our changes earlier when it was clear we were knackered after 45mins.
-
where the **** are our substitutes we haven't got hold of this at all this half because we are dying on our feet
-
We look knackered.. The next goal will dictate who wins this i reckon. If West Ham get it they will go on to get another.
-
and Mane is a greedy ***** frequently too
