CONFIRMED: Saints sign Juanmi on four-year deal
Mallagroth replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
Can I be first to get in there and say Juanmi has been playing **** for us recently and is useless we should get rid of him. He hasn't even scored a goal for us yet, Koeman is clueless I want him out. Also Welcome Juanmi...good luck. -
Post-Match Reaction: SAINTS 6-1 Aston Villa
Mallagroth replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Hooray jrod is back to replace one of our ****ty strikers who can't score into an open net... 2 days and 'a sentence later'... **** me! good luck displacing those three jay! Maybe it is just coincidence that all our front players came good today, I like to think a lot of stars aligned today and regardless of the why, thank **** for us supporters they did. -
me too we have looked toothless and without ideas for far too long. What more incentive than chasing a champions league spot did this team need...

Victor Wanyama tells The Sun that Arsenal want to sign him
Mallagroth replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Wanyama was hardly going to say 'yes, it is a true comment and yes it does mean that Arsene Wenger has tapped me up and southampton can now sue Arsenal.' Not exactly the best way to start his arsenal career. -
In true Tottenham fashion and as always they will rob us. We will be winning 1-0 up until the last 10 minutes when they will score two controversial/cheeky/unstoppable goals and win it.

Victor Wanyama tells The Sun that Arsenal want to sign him
Mallagroth replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
hehe good on em. The truth is blatantly obvious this time around thanks to the mugs last year using the 'unambitious' line they all clutched onto. They all look like mugs now. So this year it will be I want to play champions league and that's all they've got (ignoring the massive financial gains of course). I predict the media And purchasing managers will be very quiet on us this off season unless it's confirmed or really good Intel. They don't want red arses again. Vic's going, clynes going, Morgan has tipped his hat to say he would stay if we can match all clubs that want him, Jrod made his deal before his injury. They want money, they want glory, they are kids and being pressurised by people around them who also want big payoffs, they don't support us, they work for us. A bigger company wants them, some will sink, some will swim. If tadic and pelle had continued their pre season form they were off too. Accept it and deal with it, but also recognise where we are and what it means. We are consistently improving our position year on year whilst selling players to better and better teams for more and more money. It's all part of the cycle. Next year we will attract more names that want big moves, it's the place to be to get into a world label team. (Chelsea,Man utd and so on) That means more really keen and dynamic players that believe they are worthy of being the best and our scouting team appears to be improving at picking the right mold. We are athletico of the premier waiting to happen. The writing is on the wall, brace yourself for the impossible... or similar such boloks. -
At the end of last season breaking the premier leagues top 6 and getting into Europe outside a cup was an impossibility for a club like us, and we would likely be relegated with all the players out. The year before top 10 was a pipe dream, we would be fighting relegation the experts said. The year before staying in the premiership was a near impossible feat, we would be relegated for sure, with much less to offer than other promoted teams. The year before we were never going to stay in the championship or be consigned to endless years fighting it out in the bottom half. The year before we didn't have the squad experience to get promoted out of league one, but despite the managerial turmoil, playoffs were an outside shot. The year before we had new money but not enough passion to fight for a league one promotion, we would get nowhere near overcoming the point deficit to mount a challenge. ------- This year: Champions league is impossible for a team like Southampton, we are going to lose our best players again and be in a relegation scrap... I think the amount of times I've heard the word impossible used by the media and even our own fans in relation to our club and its unambitious attitude over the last 5 years has started to make me feel a bit jaded to the meaning of the word. Don't know about anyone else but I'm really ****ing looking forward to next year now and still hoping we can do the 'impossible', yet again this season. Then again maybe its like an 'in-joke', you had to be there to see the funny bits?

**** off Glasgow. We are several players short of champions league. Frustratingly close but our campaign for that wasn't ended here it was several mistakes earlier in the season against much poorer teams than Stoke and a lack of striking options. Brilliant last effort to pull it off but we left too much to do. This is still the most successful season of my generation and it's been great. Securing Europe is still in our hands chaps.
-
Great now do the rest of the team
-
if you've watched most of our recent games then you've basically watched that match already. Opposition attempts counterattacks to sneak a goal then puts all bodies behind the ball. Saints dominate possession passing it in a semi circle around the oppositions 11 men. Sometimes it gets hoofed to pelle who invariably chests it into the path of an opposition player, long runs around like a madman but rarely in a constructive way. We hit the post or narrowly miss with the 3 obligatory chances we get in the game.
-
The only two of our attacking players I'd keep if it was in my hands would be tadic and mane, I'd replace the rest. Long works hard but has an abysmal record and isn't a striker at the level the club is aspiring too, pelle has had all the chances in the world but is actually getting worse, djuricic and Elia can't see the point of keeping on at the moment.
-
It's not just pelle but he doesn't help. None of the midfielders are making runs into box either.
-
They do the same with possession. We are only good on the rare counter attack and often these go to waste. Players aren't making off the ball runs like in the first half of the season, there's no one to play the ball too and defenders aren't being pulled out of position. It's been obvious for weeks now but that hasn't been addressed which is making me question what it is we're working on in training. I feel like I've been watching nearly the same football match for weeks now, it's the most predictable we have ever been since league 1.
-
As the season is all but over I'd like to see our young strikers given a crack at the first team
-
I've defended the guy all season but overall pelle is championship standard at best, sad for him.
-
On these performances we are lucky to be top 10
-
too slow in attack
-
Damn we really need to see Lovren get on the pitch so we can extend the gap over liverpool
-
if it is going to happen this season we are going to now have to do it the hard way...
-
like playing a fifa game when you know the game has decided to make it tough for you.
-
This game is going to be a tough challenge to win. With the specific injuries we have to our defence which is our best asset then we are faced with a real test of our champions league credentials. Can we weather this storm of injuries. If we somehow manage to get a result away at newcastle then we are looking very strong mentally and will prove our quality throughout the squad to be able to see it through to the end. The next games are our allegedly our 'kind' fixtures, this is where we can put points on the board and potentially create a gap between our rivals but of course it invariably doesn't work out that way in football. Come on you Saints !
-
They are. There is absolutely no technological reason that sky/bbc/bt cannot offer a choice of every single match through its services. Every game is televised and there is always at least one english live commentary of the match. The FA cup simply isn't covered because there is not enough perceived interest in the matches extra domestically.

Someone call an exorcist...

was good while it lasted. Think our true quality is somewhere between how we started and how we have fared in the last 5. Or mid table if you like.
