Other than in one of these mini Tournaments I can't think of one single time when two teams in the same division played each other in a pre-season friendly. Arsenal already have their annual Emirates Cup tournament so can't see them wanting to get involved in a 2nd.

Given out pretty patchy at best record away from home all season we need to be putting out our strongest possible team for all 3 home games. I would far rather if players had to be rested it was against Palace or the other 2 away games.

And at least another 2 tv games left....

He was been shocking since returning from injury. Truely awful. I remember that after getting injured initially he was on the verge of playing again but broke down in training with trouble with the same knee. He has been so far off of the pace since getting back on the pitch I can't helping thinking that he may actually need an op on the knee and he is just trying to play through it at present.

We will have been on tv more this season that a lot of PL teams.

But that's been the story of every game I have seen play since returning from injury. Even in the 4-0 win over Derby he was running around like a headless chicken trying to keep up with the game and passing more to the opposition than team mates.

I actually think as good as he was in the early part of the season, since returning from injury, he was been utterly abysmal.

I would doubt it. Adkins hates to give out injury news to the opposition so would trot out the 'too early to say' line if Lee had two broken legs. I think it would be fair to say that to go from crutches to match fit in two days is unlikely to say the least. Far more likely is that Lee will be out for 2-3 weeks.

I think any club will only pay most of the wages of a player who is loaned to another club if it is a youngster who they are shipping out to gain experience but view as a future first team players. For situations like Holmes where the player is blatently surplus to requirments and it is a loan with a view to a permanent move then it would be expected that the club he is being loaned to would pick up the wages.

Swindon are pretty much promoted already tho so they have no need for him at all. Also their best player is their left winger Rooney so he won't be starting for them. Maybe they have just loaned him for the JPT final as Rooney is cup tied for that.

Jaidi is ancient and is nowhere near in the shape to play in the Championship. That's why Adkins choose to play Fox at CB over him. Jaidi won't be seen in a first team shirt again and will be released come season's end. Seaborne is coming back from a very serious head injury so is also nowhere near ready to be thrown into a promotion battle. In any case, even in his prime I have seen little to show he is anything better than a L1 level CB. Pearce has been playing in the Championship all season so as backup to Fonte and Jos I would say he would also be above Martin in the pecking order. He would be a great addition.
