Bournemouth chairman "not welcome" directors box (sigh)

Utter rubbish and 100% incorrect. NC had been our Chairman all season and most fans at Wembley would know who he is. I certainly did. The camera went to Markus who got a cheer and then panned to NC and the cheers turned to boos. This was in the first half so was before the Mexican waves started (and was also nothing to do with Mawhinny as some also tried to say at the time). I disagree with almost all of the anti-NC vitriol on here, but no point denying he was booed at Wembley, it happened. Maybe it was the moment his love affair with the fans ended.... -

Couldn't calling someone a liar on a message board without any real evidence be construed as libelous! I thought there was a sticky about libellous posts! -
I cannot fathom why amyone would pay money to post on a fan's mesage board. There is no added value whatsoever that the owners of SW give their customers that cannot be found on countless other mesage boards for free. In fact they are giving a far inferior service as their bedroom server falls over far more often than the corporate infrastructure provided by people like fansnetwork. The whole value of a message board is in its members and what they post (!) and so if everyone who posted here made the decision to move en masse to one of the other 2 or 3 Saints related boards out there the only difference there would be is that those they see fit to pay subs to SW would be £5 better off.

I think the 'tied up in his estate' thing is a red herring. The money dried up before Markus passed on. We spent a hell of a lot the Summer before last to lure Lambert and the rest and also a lot more to get Fonte and Barnard in the January window. However, things were very different in the Summer where we only signed 3 full backs, 2 of whom were out of contract. The real question is whether this lack of cash in flow is due to a decision made by Markus (and now his family) or if it is Cortese being pig headed in wanting to accomplish his goals using only money the club itself produces and not having to go, cap in hand, to the Liebherr's asking for a hand out.

This forum seems to have become so efficently mod'ed now that new threads/posts seem to have all but dried up. Even Nick Illingsworth's Ugly site has more activity than this.
-
TBH, I would be very surprised if he will be.

Any news on potential loan signings? I haven't seen us being linked with anyone. Is this an indication the money from the Liebherr's has dried up totally and we are back the self-sufficeint plc hand-to-mouth way of operating? Despite the win on Sat we are desperately in need of a couple of new faces to freshen things up and provide some competition for places. We seem to have little to give us a spark off of the bench and tbh if we are to have a sniff of promotion this year we need more than the likes of Pulis, Mills, Holmes and Wotton to turn a game if we are losing....
-
The point most people seem to be missing is that the money had 'dried up' before Markus passed away. Last Summer and last Janaury window we spent large amounts to bring in the likes of Lambert, Fonte, Barnard, etc and it seemed obvious that ML was funding us to run at a loss in order to gain promotion. However, something had definately changed by the end of the season. We let go a HUGE amount of players who were out of contract (which is the reason why we are now forced to name Pulis on the bench), failed to re-new the loans or transfer Papa or Antonio and only brought in 3 full-backs only onw of whom comanded a transfer fee. It's nothing to do with money being held in probate or things like that, the question that needs to be asked is what is the reason for this change? It can only be one of two things, either Markus (and now his family) decided to put no more money into the club and it would have to generate it's own money to spend, or that Cortese is being pig headed and trying to acheive his goals without having to go cap in hand to Markus (or now the Liebherr's) and ask for handouts.

A loss making club in the third tier of English football? Not for much I would imagine. More finding someone willing to take it off their hands.
-
Someone has posted a rumour on the Ugly that the club is currently up for sale.
-
I could ask the same of you.......... oh.

I think 6th is a fair shout. I was talking about rummaging in the bargain basement of football transfers. Aliadiere hardly scores for fun, tho he is better than what we have in an injured Connoly and Barnard. Butt is about 103 but better than Hammond, Goolie and Wotton. Demerit would be quality in L1 tho and an infinite improvement on Jaidi, Martin and Seaborne. The early days excuse is wearing thin. We are moving ever nearer a quarter of the season gone. Saying what last season's squad did is pointless, that squad included Papa, Antonio, a fit (or interested) Lambert and a one year younger Jaidi. And a Premier League level manager. We have had none of that this season and we also have zero confidence. If we don't bring in some new faces to freshen things up I cannot see us getting much out of 2 away trips to SHeff Wed and Yeovil and then the visit of Bournmouth and if we get only one or 2 points from that bunch I'm afraid it's the business as usual relegtion scrap for us..... yet again.
-
Jay Demerit Nicky Butt Jeremy Aliadere and we might just have a hope of squeaking 6th place. Interesting to see Jamie White on the list of homeless footballers.
-
and when you think this year's squad is also minus Papa Waigo and Antonio it's easy to see why we haven't scored a goal since AP left....
-
I think someone posted on here over the weekend that Lee Barnard confirmed after the game that he has a hernia. Not something that will get cured without an op.
-
The one thing we did on Saturday was keep a clean sheet, amongst all the other failings in the team it would be lunacy to change the keeper now.
-
No, last seasons squad showed what they were capable of. This season's squad are showing what they are capable of. No goals, no hope.
-
Without at least 3 loans mid table would best we could possibly hope for....
-
Ready for another long season of relegation fighting then lads?

I think even by American standards it would be hard to label Palin as intelligent.

If we had more politicians like Palin then the world is f ucked.....

Did anyone ever get a copy of the thesis Chorley promised to write after meeting with the local MPs detailing SISA's thoughts on the future of the club? I think last time he popped up here he claimed that SISA wasn't a supporters group anymore, it was an 'organic lobby group'..... I miss Chuckles Chorley's posts tho. They invariably started with him mentioning that he had bumped into someone's Mum at the shops, would then contunue until he was asked a difficult question whereby he would say he had to nip pout to take his girlfriend to get her hair done. On his return he would soon lose his rag and post his mobile number and encourage people to ring him up for a 'chat'. I think he is a bit lonely.

Precisely my point.
